Chapter Text
Lillian, a new transfer student, was running up the stairs outside the school, late for class when she suddenly spotted a girl sitting in the flower garden outside of the school picking at the grass in the flower garden, as if she’s waiting for someone. Lillian walked over.
“Are you alright? We’re late for class,” she said to the girl. The girl didn’t respond.
When Lillian started walking away, the girl suddenly spoke up.
“Do you know the rumor?” “What rumor?” “I’ll tell you, if you make a flower crown with me.” “Alright, but we have to go to class after. What’s the rumor?”
Lillian was never one for gossip but this girl was interesting, she felt compelled to agree to her. “There was once a desk in room 104, occupied by a cheerful girl named Yulia,” the girl said. “Yulia was the most wonderful person in the school. But one day, an incident happened.” Lillian gasped. “What happened?”
“I’ll tell you. After school, Yulia started acting strange, she stopped asking if someone needed help. She started laughing while crying even if nothing’s funny or sad, she had a weird tint in her eyes, and she kept saying ‘Hi, I’m Yuli, pleased to meet you.’ ‘I like you, want to be friends?’ Yulia started weaving and wearing a flower crown made of fresh black roses everyday. Everyone agreed that it was weird. Yulia never had to introduce herself, and everyone was friends with her. But what the strangest thing about what she said, was that no one has ever called her Yuli.”
Lillian felt like something was strange about this story. “What about the incident?” “The incident happened two days after Yulia started wearing the crown. It was during the weekend, when she was alone. She suddenly collapsed for no reason, and she was on the floor, chanting ‘I’m Yuli’ over and over” The girl paused to weave a flower into her crown, then continued.
“No one found Yuli until after school on Monday. They took her to the hospital and made sure she was fine.” “What? There was nothing wrong with her?” Lillian asked, surprised and kind of freaked out.
“Someone was always in the room with Yuli, but one night no one was available to look after her and she was left alone for one hour. When the nurse came to check on her, she found no one in the room, Yuli was gone.” Lillian shivered “What happened to her?”
“No one knows, Yuli was never found after that night. That desk is always empty in case she ever comes back again.” Lillian got a bad feeling after the girl said that The girl started talking again “That’s the mystery of the flower crown”
‘Wait, mystery? She said it was a rumor’
The girl then put on the crown of black roses and said, “Hi, I’m Yuli.” The air turned cold.
“Pleased to meet you.” Lillian shivered. She tried to move, but she was frozen in place.
Yuli offered her hand to Lillian. “I like you, want to be friends?”
