STATS

INT = 19
WIS = 15
CHA = 12

**Other stats are not applicable to her as she is a ghost. She has no physical form and may not be seen by the party other than their Paladin and Necromancer.

PERSONALITY

A naturally chaotic yet flirtatious ghost, she often causes mischief to whoever she pleases. No one is safe from her sharp tongue. However, even despite her annoying tendencies she viciously protects those who suffer from injustice.

She thirsts for knowledge and constantly learns; her repertoire of knowledge far surpasses any modern library. Her application of said knowledge, however, is sometimes poor. Much of what she knows is tied to an emotional memory that she struggles to process or does not want to recall.

Her special skill is vicious mockery. She is able to use this skill without consuming any mana or stamina. She will use it without restraint or hesitation given the opportunity. Just like her beloved familiar Sir Borkus the Fifth Shadow Wizard, she's quick to judge others especially if their actions do not align with her moral compass, even if she does not explicitly state it.

BACKGROUND

Nanolay Tagtag was a middle-class professor working at a prestigious university. Due to her family consisting of scholars from different expertise, she has met folks of all classes from serfs to aristocrats. She knows about the injustices this world holds, and she fights against them with all her strength.

She has watched the rise and fall of civilizations. She has held everyone she has ever loved as they died. Life is more precious to her than any petty fight or victory.

Nanolay Tagtag has used her skills to outwit and to outsmart divine beings to intervene with fate and avoid the death of the innocent. She has angered Gods because of this.

Ash tainted with the blood of her cherished party floats like snow. It clings to her lungs. The Gods have won, robbing the world of life.

“Nanolay Tagtag, heed our verdict. For your impudence, you shall roam this earth with eyes open to the threads of fate. No more shall your words be heard, your touch be felt, nor your heartbeat ever find the rhythm of life.”

Love; Anagolay.

Before her last battle with the Gods, she fell in love with what she despised most.  They were equals under the humbling vast hug of the universe; neither were they a God or a ᏖᏗᏇᎧᏁᎶ ᏝᎥᎮᎧᎴ. They were merely creatures of love; cradled by the night. Her lover gifted her a set of pearls plucked from the seas to signify their promise of peace.

“It is a small thing,” calloused fingers sweeped Nanolay’s locks to decorate her neck with a necklace of silk and pearls.
“It is too much,” Nanolay attempts to crane her neck, earth brown eyes peeking to look at the light of her life.
“No design of fate could ever please me more than your happiness.” They smile, as soft as the evening clouds that they hid beneath in. She holds their hands kissing each knuckle with reverence.

“You’re hurt,” She frowns at the small burns and cuts littered on their arms.
“A small price to pay-” they cradle her cheek and she melts into their warmth, “-to adorn you in what you deserve. I do not mind being burned or cut, I bleed only for you.”

They knew that all stories must end; that all love returns to sleep, never to be awoken again until it must. But Nanolay did not know that she could not stop her beloved from going insane, from being hung with strings and being puppeteered by the cruel Gods.

“If you love me, you will let me rest,” They said, sweetly on their knees.
“I love you.” She said, a knife plunging through their chest.

Death.

Asphyxiation. She choked to death on a necklace gifted by her lover, a God. She paid for the price of coveting the holy.

The pure pearls of the jewels that decorated her dripped with the red of her sins and stained the stones; forever a reminder of her past.

Author's Notes:

I like to include a lot of Filipino mythology when it comes to my character creations! You may recognize Nanolay's name from Filipino deities <3

She's a freak of nature. I use her to push the limits of my DM's world-building and mechanics. She's also grown very overprotective and wary / suspicious of other people so she tends to be untrusting of new people, even her own party members.
