Work Text:
Bradley sat in silence, looking out the window of his room, letting the ray of sun hit his eyes as his brows furrowed at his thoughts. After he lost the X-Games, the thought of being a disgrace and a sad excuse of an Uppercrust lingered his mind, how could this have happened? He cheated didn't he? Yet all that and still ended up being beaten by his rival? His eyes widened at that thought. It's not his fault, it's that stupid freshman's fault, all this happened because of him! He slowly lifted his hand to touch the purple mark around his right eye, flinching a little by the slight pain it caused, he hates it even more knowing that it's a mark that reminds him of how he lost.
He slowly lays his back against his chair, closing his eyes as he recollects the time he broke the devastating news to his family, especially the moment with his father. A glimpse of his father's angered face crossed his mind. He shouldn't be a loser, Uppercrusts are never losers, Bradley can't be a loser... and yet.
Bradley looked outside his window one more time before slowly standing up from his chair. He walked towards the door, taking one quick glance at his room before exiting. As he walks through the streets, his hands in his pocket, he can hear two girls walking in front of him talking about none other than the Goof himself. God, why must his name follow him everywhere.
They were talking something about asking Max for his phone number or something, Bradley remembers the times when the girls were all over him before they moved on to Max. Whatever, he never liked the girls in his campus anyways.
Then the girls continued the conversation, saying how much charm he has and how handsome Max is. Well... Bradley can't deny that, which makes him even more mad. He's sick of listening to this conversation, he quickly walked pass the two girls, wanting to get away from them and their topic as fast as possible. A look of surprise can be seen on the girls' faces as they didn't know Bradley was behind them the whole time.
Bradley found himself walking through the sidewalk for a couple of minutes, not even sure where his feet is taking him. Not until he stumbled upon the park, he thought that maybe sitting there for a while would help ease the thoughts that's been bothering him.
He found a bench under a tree at the far side of the park, as he sat down, he noticed how the tree was blocking the sun rays from him, which he thought was quite nice.
The birds were chirping along with the sounds of crickets, the cold breeze blowing the leaves away, making a relaxing sight, it was nice, and Bradley seems to be enjoying it a lot. Though, every now and then, the thought comes back to his head, which was very frustrating, no amount of "relaxation" can remove these pests in his cranium. It's even more frustrating knowing that the thoughts were all just about Max... damn it. God, Bradley hates him, he hates him so much, he's the reason of everything going on right now, how the Gammas barely talk to him anymore, and even Tank still doesn't wanna interact with him.
It hurts even more, knowing that Bradley can't do anything about it, cuz... it's true. Max is so much better than him, he doesn't even need to cheat just to win, he's got loyal friends who he doesn't even have to threaten just to stay with him, he's got the charm that everybody adores, and most of all... none of it is fake.
"Well, well, well..." Bradley jumped as his eyes widened at that sound, that voice sounds familiar... way too familiar.
Bradley turned to see where the voice was coming from, or better, who it was coming from. And waddaya know, it's none other than his worse nightmare.
"Didn't expect to see you outside of your frat house" Max rested his forearms on the bench as he stood behind, looking at Bradley with lidded eyes and a smirk, the combo that Bradley hated the most.
"Where I am or what I do is none of your business, Goof" Bradley furrowed his brows once more as he rested his head on his hand, avoiding eye contact with Max.
"Yeah, you're right... I guess I'm just surprised to see you..." Max then sat next to Bradley as he crossed his leg.
This surely can't get any worse, can it?
"You know I haven't seen you a lot ever since the X-Games... stuff" Max said as he fidgeted with his thumb, looking down at them.
"So? I figured that would be an absolute delight to you now that you can hog all of the attention to yourself" Bradley crossed his arms, slowly moving away from Max.
"Don't say that, sure the attentions been great and all, but... I still wanna know how you're doing. I tried asking Tank where you are but he said he doesn't wanna talk about you, nor give a damn where you are" Max slowly looked towards Bradley's direction "I just wanna know if you're doing fine... How's the black eye that my dad caused with that horse shoe?" Max then slowly moved closer to Bradley as he brushed the hair off the senior's face so he can see his eyes better.
The sudden touch made Bradley turn his head to look at Max, he doesn't know how to react, what does this freshman think he's doing? And why is Bradley letting him do it?
"It's doing fine, Max, if that's what you wanna hear" Bradley pushed Max's hand away from him as he quickly turned his head to avoid the other's gaze.
"You don't seem fine..." Max said with a slight concern in his voice.
There was silence between them for a couple of seconds before the senior spoke "Shouldn't you be with your buddies or something? I'm sure The Bean Scene is just dying to see you make an appearance" Bradley sarcastically said, changing the subject completely.
It took a moment before Max replied, it was obvious to him that Bradley didn't wanna talk about how he's doing or sappy things like that "Well... would you like to come with us? I'm sure they'd be happy to see the king of the Gammas as well" Max said with pure genuine and a warm smile on his mouth that could melt anyone in a matter of seconds, standing up as he pulled out a hand for Bradley.
Bradley slowly glanced at the hand Max was offering then quickly looked up at the smile Max had on his face, does he wanna come? Does he actually wanna spend time with Max? Is he seriously thinking about it right now?
.
.
.
No, of course he doesn't wanna come, why would he even consider that?! "No thanks, I'm good with being alone, especially when the only option for 'company' is you"
Max's smile slowly faded as he dropped his hand, gosh he was really being genuine "Alright then... I'll see you around..." Max said as he waved goodbye, smiling one last time before completely looking away and walking out.
A look of slight guilt can be seen on Bradley's face as he watched Max exit the park, completely away from him. For some reason, he feels disappointed, but why? Isn't this what he wants? He hates Max, remember? God he hates his touch, he hates that stupid smile on his mouth, and he can't stand every single word that comes out of that freshman... and the thing he hates the most... Max is being nice... even after everything.
Bradley placed his hands on his face as he sat there in silence... all alone... like he wanted...
~~~
"You of all people should know how the Uppercrusts' reputation means to this family!"
"I'm sorry, father..."
"And to lose to a freshman... That's a new low I never thought anyone would reach, especially someone from the Uppercrusts!"
"I tried, father..."
"Well it clearly wasn't enough, now is it?"
"No, father..."
"You know what... If these skateboarding stuff only brings you to being a disgrace, then no more skateboarding for you!"
"B- But-"
"End. Of. Story."
"... I'm sorry, father"
I'm sorry, father, I'm sorry, father, I'm sorry, father... These words circled around Bradley's brain, it's been days and yet why is this still in his mind? And... why does it still hurt? Is it the loss of skateboarding privileges? Is it his dad's painful words? Or is it... his own fault... Afterall, he has nothing to blame but himself, right?
.
.
.
Wait! No! What was he thinking?! It's not his fault! He's already made up his mind... It's Max's fault! It's all his fault! It's... his fault...
Bradley laid there, starring at the ceiling of his room, his face being blank from any sort of expression whatsoever, but hey, at least the bruises are starting to fade. Good, so his dad can stop pointing it out whenever they call every weekend, saying they sent him money or something, rich kid stuff.
Bradley can't deny it, his dad is a jerk, and he's used to it, but he can't help but think that he has a point. All of the Uppercrusts has grown to be successful and "perfect", so him losing at this stupid competition feels like a dent on a car, like a scratch, small but bothering. Sometimes he wonders what life would be like if he wasn't born an Uppercrust, if he wasn't forced to put on a facade every single time in public... Not like he does that anymore, people barely notice him now since Max-... Oh God, Max... that stupid... fucking... goof...
Bradley curled up on his bed like shrimp, for some reason he still can't get that conversation he had with Max at the park out of his mind... and for some reason, thinking about it feels like a breath of fresh air compared to the thought he was thinking about earlier... he even thinks that despite the goofiness and embarrassment, Max's dad would be a better father than Bradley's... At least he remembers what Max's favorite color is.
All these thoughts clouding in his head, like it's building up to something, he feels as if he's gotta let it out, but no, he can't, that's embarrassing, and even if he does, to who?
"Ugh, the silence is deafening... I gotta get outta here" He thinks that rotting in bed all day is not the best option even though it's the most not-tiring one.
He slowly stood up, quickly put a shirt on, and heads out, being quiet so he doesn't bother the other Gammas, he's surprised their still letting him stay there.
Yet again, he walks through the sidewalk, still unsure where to go, all he knows is that he's gotta get some fresh air... well, now he's got it, is it helping? Not really, not even a little actually.
He sighs as he looked down at the pavement, he's sure that if he just let out all these thoughts in his head, he'd finally be free from their tormenting, sadly it's not an option, at least he thinks so. Bradley slowly looked up and noticed he's in front of 'The Bean Scene'... How the fuck did he get there?
Bradley stood there in silence before taking a big breath and saying "fuck it". He entered the café as he looked around the exterior, still the same as last time when him and Max made that bet... Oh yeah... this is where he met Max...
Again, it felt like everything was silent despite there being the sounds of brewing coffee, people chatting, and some instruments playing. He quickly snapped out of it and looked around, for some reason he was hoping to see Max, a look of disappointment eases in on his face when he was nowhere to be found. He's not even gonna question why he thinks like this anymore, he's done enough thinking for today, his head can't handle any more pain.
As he was about to leave, someone bumped into his back while they were walking. Bradley quickly looked back to see who-
"Who could be so clumsy to just-..." There he is, the man he was looking for... for some reason "Oh... It's you"
"Oh I'm sorry, I didn't-... Brad?!" A smile immediately formed on Max's face when his eyes met Bradley's. The senior is almost impressed by how fast the expression changed.
"Bradley." The older one corrected with an unamused look on his face.
"What are you doing here- oh, right, it's none of my business..." So Max does listen.
"I was just about to leave-"
"What?! You can't, not before you have some coffee, I can tell you haven't had any, your breath still smells like toothpaste" Wow, straightforward but okay.
"I really should-" Before Bradley could even finish his word, Max cut him off... rude.
"I'll pay for it" Max happily said "I'm already treating these guys, one more addition wouldn't hurt... my wallet" He pointed at the two guys behind him, P.J and Bobby who was arguing about what came first, the chicken or the egg, just a normal day for them.
Bradley sighed... It wouldn't hurt if he just sticked around for a bit "Fine... But only because I could really use some coffee right now"
"Okay, sure, Brad" Max teasingly said.
"Bradley- you know what, nevermind"
Max guided the guys to one of the tables, P.J and Bobby still arguing as they all sat down.
"Are they... always like this?" Bradley asked as he looked at the two boys.
"Them? Oh... yeah, kinda, you'll get used to it" Max nonchalantly answered.
A few minutes later, Max came back with the drinks, placing the tray on the table in front of them and taking a seat next to Bradley. P.J and Bobby quickly grabbed their drinks and continued with their conversation, now their debating whether tomatoes are fruits or vegetables. Bradley hesitated to grab his drink, the thought that Max was the one who paid for his drink is making him feel a little guilty in a way. Max noticed this and immediately handed the drink to Bradley with a soft smile.
"Here" Max simply said, yet it sounded really adorable for some reason.
Bradley slowly took the cup "Thanks... I suppose" He said in a quiet tone.
Max stared at Bradley for a second "You've been acting weird these past couple of weeks"
This caught Bradley's attention "Hm?" He looked at Max as he took a sip of his coffee.
"You've been... I don't know how to put it... gloomy? Quiet... and... kinda miserable" Max's choice of words immediately sunk into his brain right after he said it "Sorry" Max quietly said while his right hand was on his mouth.
"It's fine..." Bradley just accepted this, what can he even do at this point.
"You wanna talk about it?" Max moved closer to Bradley as their eyes met, a genuine concern plastered on Max's face as he looked at the senior.
Bradley doesn't know what to think, this is what he wants, someone to let it all out to, but Max? Wasn't he just saying that all of his problems was Max's fault earlier? He finds himself considering it... almost... He looked at the two guys arguing next to him with a bothered look on his face.
Max noticed this and immediately took action "Hey guys, we're just gonna sit over there, if that's okay?" He pointed at a table that is at the far corner of the café.
P.J and Bobby looked at each other with a confused expression before answering in unison "Sure"
Max stood up as he offered a hand to Bradley with a smile on his face "C'mon".
"I can walk there myself, Goof" Bradley responded in a cold tone.
Max just shrugged and chuckled before picking up their drinks and moving to the other table. They sat there in silence for a while, taking a sip of their coffee every now and then until Max broke the silence.
"Are you okay?" Max asked with a soft tone as he glanced at the older one.
Bradley was kinda stumped with this question, it's a simple fucking question, yet why can't he answer it? Is he okay? No one has ever asked him that so he's never made an effort to come up with an answer.
Max took the silence as a no "I'm sorry, Bradley..." Max softly said as he looked down, you can tell that was genuine, but what is he apologizing for?
Bradley was surprised at this, he slowly turned his head to look at Max, and Max did the same.
"Look..." Max started as he moved around his seat, trying to make himself comfortable "... I know you're acting like this because of me..."
Bradley couldn't help but feel guilty, but why? Max was right, correct? He's being like this because of him, right? Then... why is the feeling getting worse, knowing that Max is aware of it... Is it really his fault?
Max started to fidget with the cup in his hands "I know that you're still mad at me for winning the X-Games, everyone turned their backs against you because of me, I get it... The things you once had, the fans, the popularity, the things that made you confident... I took it away from you... Yes, you're kind of a jerk... but I never wanted to be your enemy... I didn't know losing the competition would affect you this much... I'm sorry, Bradley..."
Is this really happening? Bradley's eyes are starting to water, he's getting kinda emotional while Max in there beside him, being genuine to him... something he never thought anyone would be willing to do, yet, here we are.
"... It's fun to win and to show off and all, but... the feeling of stepping on someone else's spotlight while doing so isn't sitting right with me... even if that someone is kind of a bully..."
Bradley appreciated Max's honestly along with his apology, at least he's not being fake and keeping things real. He slowly looked down at his coffee.
Max looked at Bradley, the silence was so loud "God, I really should think about the words I say before saying them-... Sorry, this is all completely my fau-"
"No... no, no... this isn't your fault..." Bradley has accepted it, none of this was Max's fault "And I hate hearing you blame yourself so stop it" Bradley said, keeping his cold tone while actually being genuine for once.
Max brushed Bradley's hair out of his face once more, only this time, Bradley lets him do it.
"None of what's happening is because of you so quit being hard on yourself, geez" Bradley is trying so hard to sound harsh but despite that, Max is taking everything as kinda sweet.
Max smiled a little at Bradley's response "So what's been bothering you?... if you don't mind me asking"
Bradley slowly looked at Max, unsure of what he's about to say...
.
.
.
"Your dorm?"
Max looked at P.J and Bobby across the café who's still having their stupid conversation.
"... please..." Bradley really can't hold it in any longer, he feels like he's gonna burst out crying if he doesn't let it all out.
Max sighed before standing up, pulling out a hand for Bradley with a warm smile on his face once more... only this time, Bradley took it.
Max quickly opened the door to his shared dorm room, he took one quick glance at Bradley, who's seem to be in deep thought, before entering the room. Max sat on his bed as he patted the space next to him, signaling Bradley to take a seat.
Bradley slowly sat down as he rested his head back against the wall "So I have to talk about feelings and all those sappy shit now, huh?"
"Yep" Max moved himself closer to Bradley "Only when you're comfortable though"
There was deafening silence before the senior finally decided to speak up "I guess-... The problem is that- well it's not you, it's just-... The complicated part is... Fuck, why is this so hard?" Bradley said as he placed his left hand on his face.
Max then glanced on Bradley's right hand before gently placing his own hand over it "Take your time" Max smiled as he looked at Bradley's watery eyes.
Bradley suddenly felt more comfortable when he met Max's gaze... and this is the person he hates?
"I guess it's just... my father"
"Your dad?" Max asked in a confused tone, raising a brow.
"Yeah..." This time, Bradley's the one who moved closer to Max "'Uppercrusts are never losers, they're never a disappointment'... That's what he always say, you can imagine how he reacted when he found out I lost the X-Games..." Bradley is really trying his best to not burst out crying so early into the story.
Max couldn't help but feel guilty, he still thinks some of this is his fault.
"He told me that I'm the first of the generation to ever be such a disgrace... I know I tried my best, I know I did all I can... but those efforts are nothing if it all just ended up with me losing... at least to my dad..." Bradley was quick to wipe the tear that nearly fell from his left eye "He never sees my efforts... he doesn't see me try... and he doesn't want to..."
Max feels so bad for Bradley, he would've never thought such a confident guy like him could have such a devastating life "Your dad sounds like a bitch" Yet again, Max didn't think before saying a word. He quickly placed his hand on his mouth "I'm sorry"
This made Bradley chuckle, a genuine one, a sound that Max had never heard before, but he can't deny that it's cute "No, no, you're right, he is a bitch" He said as he looked at Max with a smile "You know what's funny, when I entered high school, he stopped treating me like his son, saying that I'm not a little kid anymore, old enough to be on my own, and especially old enough to do something to make our family proud... Hilarious, right?" Bradley said before forcing out a laugh, but it came out weak.
"That's awful" Max sympathize with Bradley so much, he doesn't deserve this, no wonder he came out to be this way.
"I know..." Bradley felt tears running down his eyes, he made no effort into wiping them anymore "I was so young..."
Max immediately placed Bradley's head on his shoulder "I can tell you're trying to stop yourself from crying... Let it out... All in this room, stays in this room"
And with that, more tears came out of the senior's eyes, he's not loud when he's crying, but you can tell how long he's been holding this in "I just thought that-... if I were to be perfect... I can finally win his favor" Bradley slowly wrapped his arms around Max's waist.
Max just stayed silent as he stroked Bradley's hair with his hand while caressing his back with the other. He could feel his shoulder getting wet with the other's tears but he didn't care, not even a little bit.
"You know, Max, sometimes I'm jealous of you..." This kinda surprised Max a little "... not just with the sport stuff but... with your dad..." Bradley wasn't sure if he should have said that.
"My dad?" Max asked in a soft tone, still keeping Bradley on his shoulder.
"Yeah..." Bradley slowly lifted his head, sniffling a little "I know I made fun of you about being a daddy's boy or whatever, but... seeing how your dad treats you actually made me realize how fucked up my own father is..."
Max didn't know how to respond, he just stayed silent as he kept his attention on Bradley.
"Sometimes I wonder... what would my life be like if I wasn't an Uppercrust" After that, complete silence, but this time, it wasn't the deafening one, it was just... comfortable.
After a while, Max finally decided to break the silence. He looked at Bradley to see if he's doing okay "I'm... really sorry to hear that, but-"
"I thought I told you to stop apologizing?" Bradley said as he raised a brow and- wait, that can't be, is that... a genuine smile on his face?
"Oh, right, sorry I-" Max stopped himself and looked at Bradley who raised his brow again "God I'm bad at this"
Bradley chuckled as he ruffled Max's hair "It's fine... I should be the one saying sorry-"
"No need... I already forgave you" Max said as he smiled widely at Bradley who's hand is still on his head.
Gosh that voice, that smile on his lips, he could steal a kiss right now if- wait, what? Where is his mind headed? Did he seriously just thi-
Bradley's thought got cut off as he heard Max speak again "You know... you didn't deserve any of the things your dad did..." Max glanced at the picture of him and his dad, Goofy, framed on the wall, a soft smile forming afterwards "You may not be a little kid anymore... but you're still his son"
Bradley felt his heart flutter suddenly at that very moment as his eyes widened at the feeling, and without thinking, he quickly pulled Max into a tight hug "Thank you, Max... you just made me say something I never thought I'd ever say"
Max chuckled at that but immediately hugged back afterwards.
Bradley is just happy to let all of it out... but he can't help but think there's still something there.
~~~
"Don't say that, sure the attentions been great and all, but... I still wanna know how you're doing"
"Well... would you like to come with us? I'm sure they'd be happy to see the king of the Gammas as well"
"Yes, you're kind of a jerk... but I never wanted to be your enemy"
enemy, enemy, enemy... Max's image and voice clogged Bradley's brain, he finally lets go of all the thoughts of his father, only to be replaced with the nonstop thought of Max, he's been on his mind all day, what's he supposed to do? Worst part is, he doesn't even know why!
And here he is thinking letting out his emotions would finally set him free, little did he know. He recollected the conversation he had with Max yesterday, he was indeed thankful for Max letting him finally open up, he never really realized how nice Max could be... Gosh... his touch, his mouth, every single word that falls out, his voice, his lips... he seems perfect, probably even more perfect than Bradley is, and he's more than okay with accepting that now.
The image of Max in his brain, it's driving him crazy, the sound of his voice echoing in his head, it's too loud despite the world being quiet right now. He grips the sheets of his bed as his thought from yesterday came rushing back "I could steal a kiss right now". Bradley grabbed a pillow and threw it against his face... He's being stupid, he seriously can't be feeling what he thinks he's feeling, he has enough problems in his hands with his father, adding another layer to it isn't gonna make anything better... This isn't another love story...
But then he thought... does he care? Does his so called father matter at this point? Would he be willing to risk it all to be... happy? And what even is he trying to imply? That he's... in love with Max?
Bradley picked up his flip phone, checking to see if Max has replied to his message "Come over". There was still no reply. He puts down his phone as a sigh escaped his mouth, slowly closing his eyes.
.
.
.
Moments later, he hears someone knocking at his window, wait that can't be right, his room is at the second floor. He slowly opened his eyes and looked over at his window. Oh it's just Max... wait-... MAX?! Bradley quickly got up and opened his window to let Max in.
"Wha- why'd you-... Why?!" Bradley exclaimed, still trying to comprehend what the heck just happened.
"You asked me to come over" Max nonchalantly answered as if nothing happened.
"You could've used- I don't know, the front door!" He was kinda worried about Max's dangerous nature.
"I was scared to bother the other Gammas" Max gently dust off his pants with his hands.
"And you thought climbing up the fire escape ladder into my window was a better option?!" Bradley walked closer to Max, dusting off the dirt he sees on his shirt.
"Well I'm here, aren't I?" A smug expression formed on Max's face as he looked at Bradley.
Bradley sighed as he returned the gaze "You're gonna get hurt if you keep this up"
"Oh? Are you worried about me, Bradley?~" Max teasingly asked, leaning towards Bradley until their nose almost touched.
"Well-... Yeah, who wouldn't be?" He tried to answer nonchalantly, as if that's gonna hide the blush on his face.
Max giggled a bit before speaking "So, Bradley-" before any words could even be spoken, Bradley cut him off.
"Brad... Just call me Brad" He smiled softly at Max, the tone of his voice sounded so warm.
Max was a bit surprised by that, that's a whole new level of trust Brad is giving him and he knows it "Oh... Okay, Brad" Max chuckles a bit "Why'd you want me to come over? Don't tell me you miss me already"
"Oh yeah? So what if I do, freshman?" Bradley's response sounded like a tease, and it was. Max hated that nickname, but for some reason, he's now happy to hear it.
"Well then, I might just have to place a little gift riiiight here" Max said as he placed his finger on Brad's lips.
This made both their faces blush, butterflies formed in Brad's stomach as he felt Max cup his face with his right hand, slowly moving it towards his face. Is this really it? Is he really gonna commit? Is he willing to risk it all?
.
.
.
Yes! God, of course, yes! He'd be stupid if he didn't! He doesn't care about his dad anymore nor what he thinks, he doesn't care about the Uppercrusts' reputation and all that bullshit, he's willing to risk everything just to finally be happy, and if it means being a disgrace, then let him be a proud one, he's got nothing to lose anyways.
As their lips finally touch, he could feel the softness and warmth of Max's lips, the gentleness of his touch, and their hearts beating in unison, as if it was meant to be all along, and who knows? Maybe it was? He slowly wrapped his arms around Max's waist, pulling him closer.
It was at this very moment did he realize what he's been missing, love, love is what he's missing in his life, and for the first time, he has felt it through a kiss from none other than Max Goof, no french kissing, no tongue, just a simple kiss, and yet it's worth more than any other one-night-stands he's experienced.
And if being an Uppercrust means being perfect, then maybe he's not meant to be perfect, maybe he's not meant to be an Uppercrust... maybe he's meant to be a Goof all along... 'Bradley Goof' he chuckled at that thought.
As they pulled away from each other, a look of contentment can be seen in both their eyes as they gave each other a loving look.
"I hate you, Max Goof" Bradley playfully said as he let out a laugh.
Max smiled at that view, knowing damn well what those three words meant "I love you too...Brad" He giggled along with Brad's laugh "Wanna take this to bed?" Max teasingly asked.
"Nah... I think I'm content with just... this" A genuine smile formed on his lips, making his words true that- yes- everything is already fine the way it is...
... and maybe... this was just another love story.
EPILOGUE:
"So, dad, I'd like you to meet the guy I've been talking to you about, my boyfriend... Bradley" Max said as he presented Brad in front of his dad.
"Nice to meet you again, Mr. Goof" Bradley sounded kinda shy, nonetheless, he pulled out a hand for Goofy to shake.
"Nice to meet you again too, son, I'm glad you were able to work things out with Maxie over here" Goofy happily shook Bradley's hand with a wide and goofy smile on his face.
Brad chuckled "Yeah... me too"
"But don't think I'm just gonna forget what you did to my son" Goofy said in an intimidating tone while waving his finger.
A nervous laugh escaped Brad's mouth as he felt a drop of sweat run down his head.
"I'm just playin', son" Goofy said as he gave Brad's back a gentle slap "C'mon, sit, join us for dinner!" Goofy quickly walked towards the table and signaled the two boys to sit.
Usually, this is the part where Max is gonna start to feel embarrassed, but this time, he's proud, he knows this is exactly what his boyfriend needs... someone to treat him like a son.
"Oh, thank you, Mr. Goof-" Goofy raised his finger to stop Brad's words.
"Please, just call me dad!"
Brad's heart suddenly felt warm...
"Dad... hm... I like that"
