Notes:

I swear I’m working on a longer (ish) fic (around 10k words) I just hate proofreading and have to study for regents 😩 but it’ll be here soon…ish

Anyways here’s a short fic for you guys sorry for not posting as much I had to write a whole bunch of essays for school so I didn’t have much motivation so everyone say thank you to my teacher for giving me an ego boost after she spent 10 min bragging about my research essay and saying that she loved me for writing it and left me 5 comments in the past 2 days on Google classroom 😭 she’s a real one I needed that 💪💪

Work Text:

Louis and Harry had been dating for a few weeks, and things were going wonderfully. They had shared many pleasant dates, but today was going to be different. Harry was about to discover something “new” about Louis or at least that’s what Louis said.

Louis texted Harry in the morning, "I'll pick you up at 3. Wear something comfortable. Love, Lou."

Harry smiled at the message, intrigued by what Louis had planned. At exactly 3 PM, Louis arrived outside Harry's apartment. Harry looked out the window and was surprised to see Louis sitting astride a sleek, black motorcycle, grinning up at him.

"Come on down, love" Louis called, his voice carrying over the rumble of the engine.

Harry's excitement was mixed with a healthy dose of nervousness as he hurried down. He had never been on a motorcycle before. As he stepped outside, Louis's grin widened.

"Like what you see?" Louis teased.

"I didn't know you had a motorcycle," Harry replied, trying to sound casual.

"There's a lot you don't know about me yet," Louis winked. "But don't worry, you'll learn."

Louis swung his leg over the motorcycle and dismounted with ease, his movements fluid and confident. He reached into the compartment on the side and pulled out an extra helmet, holding it out to Harry.

“Here you go, love,” Louis said, still grinning. “Safety first.”

Harry took the helmet, his hands trembling slightly. He had seen motorcycles on the road before, but he had never imagined himself riding one. The combination of excitement and anxiety made his heart race, or maybe it was just the anxiety.

“Don’t worry, I’ll take good care of you,” Louis said softly, sensing Harry’s nervousness. He took the helmet from Harry’s hands and gently placed it over Harry’s head. Louis’s fingers brushed against Harry’s cheeks as he adjusted the straps, making sure it was secure.

“There, all set,” Louis said, stepping back to admire his handiwork. “You look adorable, you know that?”

Harry blushed, feeling a mix of warmth and embarrassment. “Thanks, Lou,” he mumbled.

“Alright, sweetheart, let me give you a quick rundown,” Louis said, his tone turning serious but still gentle. “When you get on, hold onto me tight, okay? Just wrap your arms around my waist and lean with me when we turn.”

Harry nodded, trying to absorb all the information. “Got it.”

“You’re gonna do great. Now, hop on.”

Louis swung his leg back over the motorcycle, settling into the seat with ease. He patted the space behind him, signaling Harry to get on.

“Alright, babe, hop on,” Louis repeated, his tone encouraging.

Harry took a deep breath and moved forward, carefully swinging his leg over the bike and settling in behind Louis. The seat was narrower than he had expected, forcing him to press closer to Louis’s back. Harry wrapped his arms around Louis’s waist, immediately noticing how small and firm it was. In his head, he couldn’t help but admire how perfectly his hands fit around Louis’s slender frame.

Louis, sensing Harry’s uncertainty, reached down and adjusted Harry’s hands slightly, guiding them into a more secure position. “Just like that, love,” he said softly. “Make sure you’re comfortable and have a good grip.”

Harry nodded, feeling a bit more confident with Louis’s hands guiding him. The warmth of Louis’s body against his own was reassuring, and Harry tightened his grip slightly, pressing his chest against Louis’s back.

“You alright back there?” Louis asked, glancing over his shoulder with a comforting smile.

“Yeah, I’m good,” Harry replied, his voice steadier now.

“Perfect,” Louis said, turning his attention back to the road ahead. “Hold on tight, babe.”

With that, Louis started the engine, the powerful rumble vibrating through the motorcycle and into their bodies. Harry felt a rush of adrenaline as the bike began to move, and he instinctively tightened his grip around Louis’s waist, his heart pounding.

Louis felt amazing. The wind in his face, the power of the motorcycle beneath him—it was his favorite feeling in the world. He felt so happy and confident, knowing he was sharing this experience with Harry. With a grin, he sped up, weaving through traffic with ease.

As the speed increased, Louis let out a joyful laugh. He loved the sense of freedom and the thrill of the ride. Everything felt perfect, and he couldn’t wait to show Harry more.

But for Harry, things were different. The faster they went, the more scared he became. The world around him was a blur, and the roar of the wind was deafening. Harry’s heart raced, not from excitement, but from fear. He tightened his grip on Louis’s waist, holding on for dear life.

The motorcycle leaned into a turn, and Harry felt like they were about to tip over. His stomach dropped, and he squeezed his eyes shut. All he could think about was how fast they were going and how easy it would be to crash. His anxiety grew with every second.

With the wind still whipping past them and the roar of the engine gradually fading into the background, Louis noticed Harry’s tight grip and felt a pang of concern. He eased off the throttle, slowing the motorcycle down as they approached a quieter, more familiar stretch of road leading to the café.

Harry’s breathing started to steady as the speed decreased, and he opened his eyes, relieved to find the world slowing down around him. The rush of anxiety began to subside, replaced by a sense of cautious calm. He loosened his grip on Louis’s waist slightly but still held on, grateful for the reduced speed.

As they approached the café, Louis slowed the motorcycle to a gentle stop outside. He turned off the engine, the quiet settling in around them after the roar of the road. Harry took a moment to collect himself, feeling the tension gradually dissipate from his body. He carefully removed his helmet, running a hand through his tousled hair.

Louis turned to face Harry, his concern evident in his eyes. “Are you okay, love?” he asked softly, reaching out to help Harry off the motorcycle.

Harry nodded, giving Louis a small, reassuring smile. “Yeah, I’m okay,” he replied, though his voice still held a hint of lingering anxiety.

Louis studied Harry’s face for a moment, his brow furrowing slightly. “Are you sure?” he pressed gently. “Because with the grip you had on me, I think you might’ve broken a few ribs.”

Harry’s smile faltered, and he looked down, suddenly feeling guilty. “I’m sorry,” he murmured. “I didn’t mean to hold on so tight. It’s just… I was really scared.

“I genuinely thought we were going to die,” he admitted quietly. “I know it sounds silly now, but in the moment…”

Louis's expression softened, and he pulled Harry into a comforting embrace. "I'm so sorry, love. I didn't realize you were that scared. Next time, I'll go slower, I promise."

They stood there for a moment, wrapped in each other's arms, before Louis gently lifted Harry's chin and kissed him tenderly on the lips. The kiss was sweet and reassuring, melting away the last remnants of Harry's fear. Harry leaned into Louis, feeling safe and loved in his arms. Louis held him close, their foreheads resting together as they savored the moment.

After a few quiet moments, Louis gently pulled away, his hands still resting on Harry’s shoulders. He looked into Harry’s eyes with a soft smile. “Let’s go get that coffee, yeah?” he suggested, his voice gentle and reassuring.

Harry nodded, a small smile playing on his lips. “Sounds good,” he replied, feeling a sense of relief and calm wash over him.

They walked hand in hand to the counter of the café, ordering their favorite drinks. Louis insisted on paying, and Harry thanked him with a grateful smile. They found a cozy corner to sit down together, the warmth of the café enveloping them.

As they sipped their coffee, Louis spoke softly. “On the way back, I promise I’ll go slower. And if it ever feels too fast for you, just tap my shoulder, okay? I want you to feel comfortable and safe with me.”

Harry smiled gratefully, feeling touched by Louis’s understanding and reassurance. “Thank you,” he said sincerely. “I really appreciate that.”

Harry hesitated for a moment, then spoke up again softly, “Well, I didn’t mind holding onto your waist like that…”

Louis’s lips curled into a smirk, his eyes sparkling mischievously. “Oh, is that so?” he teased, a playful glint in his eyes.

Harry chuckled, feeling lighter than he had in weeks. “Yeah,” he admitted, a faint blush coloring his cheeks. “Maybe a little.”

Louis laughed softly, the sound music to Harry’s ears. “Well, I’m glad to hear it,” he said warmly, reaching across the table to squeeze Harry’s hand.
