Work Text:
Carson gingerly takes the newborn into her arms, tears streaming down her face. “Hi Riley,” she whispers, “I’m your Mom.”
She sees the resemblance to Lexi — the dark tuft of hair, the nose. Greta got her wish. But she also sees echoes of Greta. The eyes, the mouth. She smiles, realizing she got hers, too.
This time feels the same but also completely different. The same overwhelming emotions. The same wonder. Greater confidence in their relationship and herself.
Carson meets her wife’s tear-filled eyes, as she cradles their daughter. “I love you so much, Greta.”
“I love you too, Carse.”
