Work Text:

Once upon a time, in a distant land, there lived two kings. One of them, Yoketron, had an illness so that he could not bear a sparkling so he made one final request:

"A sparkling with optics as blue as Energon and black and gold plating that shines in the sun." Primus granted his wish but it came at a fatal cost. Yoketron died during labour and he designated his sparkling Prowl with his dying breath. Ultra Magnus was forced to re-bond, however, Barricade was noting like the former king. He was heartless, vain and cruel.

Ultra Magnus soon went offline as well and Prowl was raised under his step-carrier's cruel rule. Barricade feared one day that the young bot would surpass his beauty so he made sure to make Prowl's plating scuffed and dull by forcing him to do the jobs the drones were meant to do.

Everyday the vain Queen would consult his magic mirror. "Mirror mirror on the wall," he'd ask, "who is the fairest of them all?"

And everyday the mirror would reply with, "You your Majesty." One day, he got a different response.

"What? Who is more fairer than me?", asked the King.

The Mirror replied, "Why your own son of course."

"Prowl!", he hissed. That day, he ordered the hunter to kill Prowl and bring back his spark in a box. Bulkhead agreed, reluctantly, and led Prowl deep into the forest. However, Bulkhead could not bring himself to commit the deed so he yelled at the young bot to run. To run as fast he could into the woods. Prowl found himself in a cottage and cleaned the whole place up, unknowing that seven Minicons lived there. The Minicons returned home and were shocked to see a bot sleeping on their beds.

"Sweet Primus what is that?!", Bumblebee cried out.

"It's clearly a bot.", Cliffjumper observed and Bumblebee stuck out his glossa at him.

Blurr hummed, "Still-I-do-think-we-should-let-them-stay.-It-would-certianly-"

"Uh- could you repeat that a bit mower- slower.", Fixit requested.

"Yes it would certainly do for us to let him stay.", Slipstream answered.

"I agree brother.", Jetstorm replied. As soon as Prowl woke up, he had won the trust of the Minicons easily due to his love for nature and calm personality. Barricade, meanwhile, was fuming once he had learned that Prowl was still alive so he transformed himself into an old hag to lure Prowl.

Once he arrived at the cottage he said, "All alone my dear?"

"I- yes.", Prowl reluctantly answered, "I'm making pie."

"Oh but it's the apple pie the Minicons like most my dear. Here why don't you try one of mine?", Barricade coaxed. Prowl ignored the signs, like how Barricade knew he was living with Minicons, and took a bite of the apple causing him to fall dead. Barricade laughed cruelly as he towered over Prowl's dead frame, "Now shall be the fairest in the land!" He disappeared and the Minicons were left to grieve for their offline friend. In honour of his designation, they put him in a glass coffin where he would lay peacefully and be admired by all.

Just then, a prince designated Jazz rode in. Seated on his cyber-equs, he gasped as he recognised his childhood friend in a glass coffin. The Minicons told him what happened and, as a proper grieving, he kissed Prowl on the lip plates. By a miracle, Prowl woke up and accepted Jazz's love. The two bonded and lived happily ever after while Barricade was pushed off a cliff by the Minicons and went offline. The End.
