Dark Caocao could feel the anger boiling inside of him, 'Another lying snake who thinks they can steal the power of my Soul Jam for themselves! I won't fall for it twice or allow my fellow Ancients to be fooled by his sly words and cunning tone!' He thought before suddenly leaping into the air towards Clotted Cream. Both Financier and Hollyberry rushed to block the attack but were to late. Dark Caocao's sword went straight through Clotted Cream's chest and jam split onto the floor. Dark Caocao then pulled his sword out of Clotted Cream's chest allowing his dead body to fall to the ground."Clotted Cream no!"Financier cried as she held him in her arms tears forming in her eyes. "Why would you do this?" She demanded looking up at Dark Caocao who had an unreadable expression.
Instead of answering her question he soddenly stated,"This was a wast of my time," he turned to Crunchy Chip who like everyone else had a look of sock and fear on his face,"Pack your things we're leaving."Before leaving the room.
"Y-yes sir, I'll start packing immediately."Crunchy Chip stammered,"Come on Cream Wolf lets go!"The Cream Wolf whimpered but still fallowed him out the room.
Wildberry knew that in the confusion of the situation someone needed to pull everyone together so that they could perform damage control,"Hollyberry, Pure Vanilla try to talk to Dark Caocao and see if you can get him to explain his actions. Financier return to the Creme Republic immediately and inform them of the death of there head of state don't tell them it was Dark Caocao until we get an explanation do everything in your power to stop your nation from falling into chaos. As for me I'll talk to Crunchy Chip and see if I can get any info from him."Even if Wildberry would never admit it out loud he had grown to like Crunchy Chip through there time together due to how much the short man reminded him of Hollyberry, the same energy and eagerness to how much he genuinely cared about those around him, but he was also very different to Hollyberry as well, unable to relax and enjoy simple things like sweets even though Wildberry can easily see how much he likes them and just because he's scared of how his king will see him, it was also because of Crunchy Chip that he learnt to be more lenient.
Financier got up and wiped the tears from her eyes,"Your right, it'll take all of the consul's attention to figure out who will lead the Creme Republic next well also stopping any civil unrest. I'll leave immediately."
And with that Hollyberry, Pure Vanilla, and Wildberry were of to the camp site Dark Caocao and his entourage were staying. The entire way there Pure Vanilla was beating himself up thinking,'If I had just told them the truth about Dark Enchantress sooner in steed of letting myself get distracted by meeting a actual descendants of my original kingdom this wouldn't have happened'.
Wildberry found Crunchy Chip packing what few items he brought."Crunchy Chip we need to talk." He said try to leave the normal chalice he had out of his voice and was unable to tell if he succeeded.
"Before you say anything his majesty isn't a cold kill this is the first time hes ever hurt anyone!"
"And I believe you. I just want to know why he did it."
"He could see straight through Clotted Cream's lies. I mean Dark Enchantress being White Lily can you believe it? Dark Caocao know he just wanted to abuse the power of the Soul Jam, considering the incident with..." Crunchy Chip stopped himself before he could go into more detail.
"What incident? Did someone trick he into giving them his Soul Jam only to abuse it's power? Is that why he instinctively didn't trust Clotted Cream?"
"I'm sorry he made everyone present swear not to talk about it and I'm breaking that vow by even mentioning it. Other then Dark Caocao your the only person who doesn't underestimate me because of my stare and I appreciate that but, I can't break his trust."Wildberry could tell he was being serious and wouldn't bog.
Meanwhile Pure Vanilla and Hollyberry made it to Dark Caocao's hut."Dark Caocao theirs something I need to tell you and Hollyberry."Pure Vanilla called out.
Dark Caocao came out of his hut with a scoff,"if your here to give me a lecture on why what I did was wrong I don't want to hear it. I'm not a child, I understand what I did just fine."
"That's not what I need to tell."Pure Vanilla said to which Dark Caocao just raised an eyebrow at."Clotted Cream was right when he said that White Lily's goals caused her to crave more and more power until she became Dark Enchantress, I don't know how but she did."He explained.
Both Hollyberry and Dark Caocao gasped in surprise,"Pure Vanilla as the holder of the Light of Truth I wouldn't expect you to keep us in the dark about this. Instead you allowed a complete stranger to tell us first."Hollyberry pointed out.
Dark Caocao scoffed,"Did you do this to protect her? I know you always liked her the most. If you just told me the truth I wouldn't have been so keen to assume bad attentions on Clotted Cream's part. What do you think Light of Truth?"
To Pure Vanilla's surprise it actual responded,"Pure Vanilla did intend to tell both of you but got overwhelmed by everything that was happening. And he never expected you to kill to protect your power instead of hearing Clotted Cream out."
Dark Caocao let out a long breath,"With the information I had at the time I believe that I made the best decision to protect the most people. I'm going back to the Dark Caocao Kingdom to prepare for the war I suggest you prepare too." And with that the conversation was over.
Pure Vanilla and Hollyberry meet back up with Wildberry and when they found out that someone in the past had already tried what Dark Caocao was worried Clotted Cream would do they understood his position better but still wished they knew more.
