Work Text:
In rainbows,
Eve and Lilith lay,
Counting stars until the end of days.
The stars no longer looked the same way they had. Cooper, she was sure the stars themselves hadn't altered in the slightest, they had just fucked up the sky enough that they appeared different. Although there was also the possibility that the stars themselves had changed too. It wasn't like anyone was keeping track of that anymore.
“Those look like a cat with no tail,” Lucy commented, laying on her back looking up at the night sky. She'd been taught about what the stars were called, the bear, the dog but they no longer seemed to exist. So she had created a fun game of renaming the stars.
“Okay well that's a cat then those ones over there are definitely a mutant monkey with two heads,” Cooper never picked something cute when they played this game. She had seen too many monstrous things in many years of life to see anything cute.
“Nope. They are not mutants, but conjoined twins. One is wise and one is foolish.”
