Chapter Text
They woke up in a strange room, alone. There was a bracelet with the number 11 strapped to their left wrist.
Their sense of danger kicked in immediately, and they looked for a way to leave. Suddenly, the glass of the nearby windows shattered, speeding them up.
Over the sink was a photo frame, hiding a list of shapes and numbers on the back. They used it to unlock the red and blue suitcases. They found a set of keycards inside, only having to solve a small puzzle to finally leave the room.
After dashing through the hallway starting to flood, they bumped into some other people running towards a main opening.
“Oh thank god, there's someone else. Come on!”
Sal nodded and followed after the scantily clad woman. Soon enough, eleven people were together in a main hallway.
____
Everyone went around, deciding on a codename, leaving the one with the number 11 bracelet last.
“Let's see, how about I go with Sal? Like salt? Because sodium is the eleventh element.”
Everybody nodded, except for the shortest man. He drew everyone's attention. They all waited for him to finally decide on his.
“I don't need a nickname, because I'm not going to be stuck here like all of you!”
He took Clover hostage, bringing Ace over to unlock the number 5 door.
He waved goodbye to everyone else, the door closing him in. Except, a ticking sound started, since he hadn't taken the others with him.
“What’s going on? He said it would work! He lied to me! It’s his fault!”
The other 10 participants panicked, trying to open the door to free him. The ticking continued, 81 seconds nearly having passed.
“Oh god, I’m gonna die in here! I’m gonna die!”
Everyone froze as the explosion went off. There was just one person that had a different expression, the man that called himself Ace. Sal decided then that they would track him down later.
____
It was time to decide what rooms to split up into. Door 4 or Door 5. Sal decided to join Junpei, Seven, and Snake into door 5.
The group walked over the remains of the 9th man, quickly hunting down the Dead. They soon entered the room, getting started on the puzzle.
While exploring the room, Junpei found a strange safe. He showed the rest of the group. Sal was curious, trying to investigate further, but they were stopped.
“We'll find a code somewhere, let's solve everything else first.”
Sal nodded at Seven, continuing with the puzzle.
They filled a bathtub with water, put out a fire, and played some catchy music, letting them out of the first class cabin.
They sped through the casino, and ended up in a long hallway filled with doors. Luckily, they ran into the other group, everyone agreeing to split up and search.
“Junpei, Ace wanted to ask me a question, I'll be right back,” Sal noted.
“Oh, okay? Don't you want to search the rooms first?”
“Well, yes, I'm doing that first.”
"Why are you telling me?"
"Contingency, that's all."
They turned around and began hunting through their handful of rooms at a quicker pace than the others. They began their own search for Ace to meet up with him.
