Work Text:
“I have a headache,” Lu Guang says as he shuts the door to the bedroom. The moon had risen and the studio had closed.
Cheng Xiaoshi is on his bed, scrolling through Douyin without aim. He was just waiting for Lu Guang. But Lu Guang came into the room a little bit sick but already heading straight towards Cheng Xiaoshi.
Lu Guang’s voice is shaky, a little faint, and also deeper.
And Cheng Xiaoshi can’t help but smile as Lu Guang trudges towards him. “Oh? My little Lu Guang has a headache?”
Lu Guang scoffs as he topples over Cheng Xiaoshi’s body. The warmth of Lu Guang above him is so nice. “That’s what I just said.” Before anyone can add to that, Cheng Xiaoshi rubs Lu Guang’s forehead, massaging it softly. Lu Guang immediately yields to the touch. “Mmn.”
“You’re so cute like this, Guang. You’re like a grumpy cat.” Cheng Xiaoshi teases, just to get a glare that results in him chuckking. “I wanted to say you should get a headache more often but that doesn’t sound nice.”
“...” Lu Guang rolls the other way to face away from him, clearly disappointed.
Cheng Xiaoshi frowns. “I’m sorry!”
“Quieter.”
“I’m sorry...!” He says in a half-shout, half-whisper.
Lu Guang doesn’t respond. His headache must be bad. They can’t have a sick Lu Guang with a studio running. Cheng Xiaoshi sighs in relief when Lu Guang faces back towards him.
He holds his flushed cheeks, craddling the softness over his palms. He brushes his thumb over his lips, almost opening it up.
“I love you,” Cheng Xiaoshi says.
Lu Guang hums, eyes fluttering before closing shut. Lu Guang doesn’t have to say anything else. Pressing deeper into his palm and kissing the tips of his fingers already screams how much he loves him too.
Cheng Xiaoshi wants to melt into this moment. He takes several pictures quietly— ten pictures in a second, so that he can revisit this moment when he wants to.
