Legend rested his hand on Hyrule’s cheek, and the teen opened his eyes. His gaze was cloudy, but he seemed to recognize Legend. “Who did this to you?” Legend asked.
“Ganon’s… ashes… can’t… bleed,” Hyrule whimpered, pain visible in his eyes, “My blood… res’rects… him,”
“Okay, so I can’t pull the knife out,” Legend clarified.
Hyrule nodded, weakly. Legend wouldn’t have noticed it if he hadn’t been staring at Rulie. Warriors entered, armed with healing supplies. He too, knelt by Hyrule. “I’m going to pull the knife out on three,” he announced, placing his hands on the blade.
“No!” Hyrule and Legend yelled, although Hyrule’s voice was weaker. Hyrule coughed blood onto Legend’s tunic, where it was barely noticeable because they were nearly the same shade of red.
Warriors paused. “Why not?”
“He said his blood resurrects Ganon,” Legend stated, catching Hyrule as the teen tipped over, unconscious.
With great care, Legend lifted Hyrule into his arms and carried him out into the hallway, where there were no ashes. Legend leaned his injured successor against the wall. Warriors came up from behind and placed his hands on the knife. Legend grabbed Hyrule’s hand, hoping to provide comfort if Hyrule was, by some miracle, semi-conscious.
Warriors pulled the knife out, eliciting a weak whimper from Hyrule, who thankfully remained unconscious. Blood poured from the wound, a river of crimson, and Warriors was quick to wrap the wound in bandages after sterilizing the bloody area. Hyrule was then force-fed a red potion, and Warriors lifted the limp teen into his arms.
They made their way out of the hideout without incident and noticed that the chain had returned.
The shadow stalked towards them, wielding a sword. “Warriors, get Hyrule out of here!” Legend ordered.
Warriors nodded and ran toward the place where they’d made their rescue plan.
Legend growled at the shadow, and yelled, “You will regret touching him!”
The clanging of weapons rang through the forest, seven heroes attacking the shadow vigilantly. It was mostly pinned, struggling to get its own attacks at the chain. After a good few minutes of this, it ran, like the coward the heroes knew it to be.

At camp, Warriors laid Hyrule down on the captain’s own bedroll. With swift and cautious hands, he cut away Hyrule’s tunic, revealing bloody bandages.
“Oh, kid,” Warriors sighed sympathetically, “I’m sorry this happened to you.”
The captain began unwrapping the bandages. When they were completely removed, Hyrule opened his eyes.
“Hey,” he whispered weakly.
“Hey, Rulie. You feeling okay?” Warriors asked.
“Hurts,” Rulie answered.
“Yeah, I bet. You got stabbed,” Warriors told him.
Hyrule’s eyes slipped shut. Warriors grabbed new bandages and rewrapped Hyrule’s waist, as well as gave him another red potion.
