Work Text:
Hoseok sprawled out on the couch, sweat pants and loose t-shirt on. He considered tying his dark brown hair up into a small ponytail, as he had done for the past few days. He was resting to recover from the school year and spending time with family. It was winter break. He had a month off from school, and he was determined to make it as fun and replenishing as possible. His parent’s had given him the latest Just Dance game as a gift, so he decided to make plans to play it in his apartment. He pulled his phone out of his pocket and scrolled through his contacts before tapping one excitedly.
“Hobi! What’s up?” Taehyung was pleasantly surprised on the other end of the line. He stepped away from the intense game of Chutes and Ladders he had been dominating.
“Hey Tae! Wanna come play Just Dance and eat pizza? My treat.”
“Um, yes! Absolutely,” Taehyung responded excitedly before asking for more details. They settled on meeting around five, which gave Hoseok a couple hours to tidy up and scrape together some cash for pizza, and gave Taehyung enough time to wrap up his game and play with the kids until they were tuckered out and ready for a nap. He wandered around his apartment languidly, picking up dirty clothes and throwing out trash, and got out the pamphlet from a nearby pizza parlor. About five minutes before Taehyung would be there, he called the pizza place and ordered a large pie, with all of his and Taehyung’s favorite toppings, and a few cans of soda.
Soon after, the door flew open and Taehyung trotted into the apartment like it was his own. He took off his shoes and hung up his coat as Hoseok made his way to the door to greet him with an enthusiastic hug. They discussed their respective family visits while they set up the game and moved furniture so they would have room to dance.
Taehyung had a loving family, similar to Hoseok’s, but they both shared the same issue. Their families were so loving and hands-on that it was a bit draining to be around them. Taehyung lived at home when he wasn’t dorming at school, so he was grateful that Hoseok invited him over. It was a much-needed break from overbearing parents and needy younger siblings.
When the game was ready, Taehyung insisted that they play Uptown Funk first, because it was his favorite song out of the choices. They both did well on the song. However, they ended up replaying it three times because they wanted to get perfect but they weren’t adjusted to their surroundings and the game yet. After that, they decided to go in order through all of the songs.
Three songs later, they were sweating and panting slightly. Hoseok went to get two glasses of water when the doorbell rang. He handed Taehyung the one glass he managed to fill and ran to the door, cash in hand. He swung it open, taking the box and bag of drinks, and handed the man a few dollars extra as tip along with one of his winning smiles. He then shut the door with his foot and brought the pizza to the table in his kitchenette.
“You’re the best!” Taehyung squealed as he opened the pizza box. “Ah, my favorite kind too.” He slapped a slice onto his paper plate and kissed Hoseok on the cheek. “Thanks for getting this.”
“No problem,” Hoseok said, smooching the top of Taehyung’s head before grabbing a soda for each of them. They ate in happy silence. When they finished, they returned to Just Dance.
Hoseok loved playing Just Dance with Taehyung. They both loved the game, played the previous versions often, and they worked so well together that the dances were smooth and effortless. They didn’t have to worry about hitting each other by accident because they were so practiced. The duets were especially fun because both of them loved to fully act out their parts without shame. In the past, they completely destroyed the dance for “Crazy Little Thing Called Love.” Now they got to try their hand at “You’re The One That I Want” from Grease. Hoseok insisted on being Sandy and, even though he joked around with it quite a bit, he did incredibly well.
They stopped for breaks periodically to eat more pizza and drink soda and water, and Hoseok found himself stealing glances at Taehyung’s cute face, which was shining with sweat. He couldn’t help but smile to himself a little, then feel silly, only to find Taehyung doing the same thing. They had been dating for a few months, but there was still a bit of shyness despite how comfortable they were with each other. He ended up leaning over and placing a slobbery kiss on Taehyung’s cheek before running back to the television and choosing the next song.
-
They almost made it through the entire song list twice, but they stopped short on their second run through because they were so tired and they did not want to be so sore that they wouldn’t be able to move the next day, thank you. They pushed the couch back to its position in front of the television and inserted the disc for Pikmin 3. Hoseok flopped back on the left side of the couch, putting his feet up on the coffee table, and Taehyung laid across both seats, head resting on Hoseok’s thighs. Hoseok had quite muscular thighs, considering he was a dance major, so it couldn’t have been too comfortable, but Taehyung sighed in contentment nonetheless. He looked so peaceful and happy and cute and Hoseok felt his chest flutter just from looking at him. He leaned down to peck Taehyung’s nose and opened his save file on the game.
They took turns playing, cheering each other on and strategizing when it got tough. They really made a perfect team. Hoseok found himself smiling just thinking about it. Taehyung was playing, having shifted positions for better results, and Hoseok was still hungry, so he got up to get another slice of pizza. He stood behind the couch and ate in silence while Taehyung made dramatic noises as pikmin flew across the screen. How had he managed to meet such a great person? He was so much fun to be around, and he was so beautiful. Hoseok looked at his soft hair and considered ruffling it as his eyes travelled down his muscular back. Taehyung had wider shoulders, and he was a couple of inches taller than Hoseok, even though he was nearly two years younger. His arms were pretty toned as well. Not as much as their friend Jimin’s, but enough to be noticeable. His fingers pressed the remote rapidly and his tongue slipped out of his mouth, just slightly, in concentration. Hoseok stared at it before forcing himself to look away and out the window, and—
“Tae! Look! It’s snowing!” Hoseok shook Taehyung’s shoulder until the game was paused and he had the other boy’s attention. They both tumbled towards the window and pressed their faces to the glass in child-like wonder. Hoseok noticed that the snow had piled up quite a bit, and it was still coming down in large clumps. How long had it been snowing? From the looks of it, it might have started soon after Taehyung got there. He suddenly felt guilty about ordering pizza during a blizzard. He should have tipped more. He should have noticed it was snowing earlier instead of staring hopelessly at Tae.
He was pulled away from his thoughts when Taehyung put a cautious hand on his elbow. He looked at Hoseok, lip partially jutting out and eyes wide and innocent. Hoseok’s heart almost did a backflip until his cooing was replaced with concern. Taehyung looked a bit upset.
“It hasn’t piled up too much. Maybe three or four inches. I could still make it home,” he trailed off and looked back out the window. Now his bottom lip was tucked under his front teeth on one side and his hands had found their way to his shirt where they bunched the cloth up. Hoseok placed a hand gently on Taehyung’s shoulder.
“Want to sleep over?” Hoseok proposed with a grin. Taehyung excitedly nodded, pulling Hoseok back to the couch. He pulled out his phone to let his mom know he wouldn’t be home until the next day, and then he took his spot on Hoseok’s lap again, but not before leaning up to give Hoseok a peck. He started to ramble on and on about their slumber party and how they could watch movies and eat popcorn and wear comfy pajamas. Hoseok smiled and stroked his hair, listening and laughing. It wasn’t like they hadn’t had sleepovers before. It had just been a while because they had finals and family visits.
They continued playing Pikmin and drinking soda and they couldn’t help but keep commenting on how cute the characters were every few minutes. However, those comments were usually met with the phrase, “not as cute as you,” followed by slightly reddened cheeks and nose kisses. It was nice to be alone without their friends pretending to puke whenever they acted like this.
-
Before they knew it, it was eleven o’clock and they decided to watch a movie in bed until they fell asleep. Hoseok sat up a little after saving his progress and placed a hand on Taehyung’s cheek. His eyes were such a deep brown that Hoseok could easily get lost in them. His lips were parted slightly and he looked Hoseok in the eye before smirking and pecking him on the lips.
Hoseok smiled and pat Taehyung’s stomach lightly before moving to stand up. He had to find some pajamas and a spare toothbrush for Taehyung to use. He made his way to his bedroom, Taehyung trailing closely behind. His closet was a bit of a mess, so it took him a while to paw through all of the shelves. It was a nice moment with Taehyung’s arms hooked around his waist and his jaw on Hoseok’s shoulder while he hummed happily.
Eventually, he found some baggy clothes that would fit Taehyung; a purple long sleeve shirt and plaid pajama pants. Taehyung stripped down to his orange boxers and changed into the clothes he was given while Hoseok searched for a pair of pajamas for himself and followed suit. While his back was turned and his shirt was off, Taehyung had tip toed up behind him and started tenderly kissing his neck, yielding a surprised shriek from Hoseok that made Taehyung laugh into his nape before heading into the bathroom.
“Hey!” Taehyung called from the other room. “Where’s my toothbrush?”
Hoseok entered the bathroom, holding a small plastic bag that his dentist gave him during his last visit. He pulled out the cheap, red brush and handed it to Taehyung.
“Yours is blue and mine is red,” Taehyung stated as he ripped open the package. “Does that mean you’re a Jedi and I’m a Sith?”
Hoseok had already put toothpaste on his, but he drew his toothbrush dramatically, swinging it in an arc through the air, and tapped Taehyung’s. Taehyung pulled away and crossed them again, making clashing noises with his mouth. They continued like this, making sound effects and spinning between strikes, until the glob of toothpaste landed on Taehyung’s shirt and he shrieked. He grabbed a washcloth and tried to clean it off, but he was left with a large white circle in the center of his chest. He frowned, still trying to clean it off, and Hoseok was struck with how cute Taehyung was. It was a really big shirt, so the sleeves covered his hands slightly and the neck was just wide enough to show some of his collar bones. His lower lip jutted out in guilt for messing up Hoseok’s shirt only a minute after putting it on.
Hoseok chuckled and took the cloth from Taehyung, wetting it with warm water again. He came up close to Taehyung, started to dab his shirt, and stole another opportunity to kiss him when he was looking down, watching Hoseok’s hands. Taehyung made a pleased sound and cupped Hoseok’s face while moving his lips in time with Hoseok’s. Hoseok’s hands slowly went from dabbing Taehyung’s shirt, to grabbing fistfuls of it as their mouths met hungrily.
“You know,” Hoseok panted, pulling away for a moment. “You could just sleep without it.” He fiddled with the hem of Taehyung’s shirt. “I could keep you warm,” he mumbled with a blush. Taehyung laughed, pressing several more kisses to Hoseok’s lips and face.
“Let’s finish brushing our teeth first,” Taehyung said with a wink and a poke to Hoseok’s nose. Hoseok was so fucked. Why did he have the cutest, hottest, most amazing boyfriend ever?
-
When they finished, Taehyung followed Hoseok into his bedroom, and proceeded to dramatically take off his shirt in the center of the room while Hoseok closed the door. Hoseok gaped at him while the other wiggled his eyebrows. Hoseok couldn’t help but laugh a little, covering his mouth with one hand.
Taehyung sauntered across the room as faux-sexily as possible, eliciting a few more giggles, before grabbing Hoseok by the waist and pressing tender kisses to his lips. He could feel Hoseok smiling, which, in turn, made him smile, until they were almost laughing into each other’s mouths.
Hoseok moved to kiss along Taehyung’s jaw, down his throat, across his collarbones, all over his chest, grinning the whole way. They had slowly started moving towards the bed, and by the time Hoseok made it down to Taehyung’s pecks, Taehyung’s knees knocked against the bed frame, and Hoseok had no trouble getting Taehyung to lie down so he could straddle his legs and continue showering him in kisses. He kissed all the way down his stomach to the space right below his belly button, and then worked his way back up, kissing his stomach, his chest, his collarbones, his neck, his jaw, his cheeks, and then coming back for a hot kiss on the mouth full of yearning and love. Hoseok pulled away to look Taehyung in the eyes, which earned a quiet whine from the boy on the bed. He was just so beautiful, and Hoseok was so in love, and his dark brown eyes were swimming with questions and answers that Hoseok wanted to spend all day and night exploring.
“God you’re breathtaking,” Hoseok exhaled as he leaned down for another kiss. Taehyung squirmed a little, butterflies infesting his stomach. He set his hands on Hoseok’s waist, and when he had a good grip, he gently flipped them over, and started worshipping Hoseok’s body with kisses in a similar way to what he had just received. Hoseok giggled and writhed when Taehyung slipped a few slender fingers passed the bottom of his shirt, since he was more ticklish than Taehyung was. Taehyung kissed Hoseok’s neck while he tickled his stomach more. Hoseok was flailing at this point, limbs working of their own accord to find a solution, which turned out to be pulling Taehyung completely on top of him, chest-to-chest. They were both a laughing mess, and gazed at each other while giggling and sharing chaste kisses.
“Wanna watch Tangled?” Taehyung said between pecks.
Hoseok’s eyes twinkled. “Absolutely.”
They moved to set up Hoseok’s laptop and search for the DVD. While Taehyung was sitting on the floor and looking through Hoseok’s bookshelf for the disc, Hoseok bent down and kissed Taehyung’s forehead. “I love you.”
Hoseok pulled together as many pillows and blankets as he could. Then, he spread his arms and legs and pat the space between on the bed. Taehyung crawled in and situated himself comfortably, but not before reaching up to kiss Hoseok one more time.
“I love you too,” Taehyung grinned.
They played the movie and sang along to the first song excitedly before passing out, cuddled together in the mound of blankets. Taehyung had managed to put both of his hands up Hoseok’s shirt, pressing almost protectively against his back and stomach. Hoseok had both hands threaded in Taehyung’s hair. The movie was left playing.
-
Hoseok woke up to a nose nuzzling in his chest and a happy sigh. He looked down to find his boyfriend in his arms, hands shoved even further up Hoseok’s shirt and hair sticking in all of the wrong directions. He turned his head slightly to see if Taehyung was awake, and got his answer when a pair of brown eyes met his. Taehyung had tilted his head up to look at Hoseok, and he smiled sleepily at him. Hoseok kissed his forehead and squeezed his arms around Taehyung’s body.
He moved to look out the window and see how much it had snowed, but Taehyung whined and pulled him back down before he could. He couldn’t resist Taehyung, so he didn’t fight it. He just closed his eyes and soaked in the warmth between their bodies. Taehyung all but purred while in Hoseok’s arms. He never wanted to move from that spot.
Sadly, Taehyung’s bladder had other plans, and he had held it for as long as he could to savor the moment. He groaned loudly before getting up to go to the bathroom. Hoseok tooth that moment to sit up and look out the window. There must have been a foot and a half of snow outside. The streets were not completely plowed, so there was no way Taehyung was going home yet.
“What are you smiling about?” Taehyung asked, puzzled. He walked over to the bed where Hoseok was making grabby hands for him.
“Wanna build a snowman?” Hoseok placed a kiss between his shoulder blades. Taehyung nodded furiously, turning to look at Hoseok. He looked like a ten year-old on Christmas. He crossed the room to immediately start searching Hoseok’s closet for snow-worthy clothes. Hoseok chuckled and grabbed Taehyung’s waist from behind.
“We should shower first,” he murmured over Taehyung’s shoulder. Taehyung turned around to wiggle his eyebrows at Hoseok, but Hoseok just laughed, gave him a quick kiss, and then turned to run to the bathroom. “Race ya!” he called over his shoulder.
-
Hoseok lost that race, so he sat on his bed, playing with his phone while Taehyung showered. He scrolled through Instagram and saw Jimin’s snow-day selfies and Jin’s dinner from last night. Namjoon had posted a short clip to show his latest music progress. The track was coming along nicely.
Taehyung stepped into the room, a towel around his waist, and started searching for his clothes from yesterday. He made a point to come towards the bed, stand directly in front of Hoseok, and look as helpless as possible while bending over Hoseok to look on the bed and in the area. Hoseok laughed loudly and pulled Taehyung towards him, blowing a raspberry on his stomach and then trailing kisses up and down it. Taehyung giggled and leaned into the touch. He only pulled away to lean down and kiss Hoseok. They kissed slowly, uncertainly, but as it deepened and their mouths opened, Taehyung moved to sit on Hoseok’s lap. His arms linked around Hoseok’s neck and he pressed against him as much as possible. His lips moved fervently and, before he knew it, he was moving to straddle Hoseok and grinding down slightly. Hoseok pulled away, breathlessly, and panted. He leaned forward to give Taehyung a few, sweet kisses and then rolled them over so Taehyung was laying down, towel hiking up dangerously.
“I have to shower,” Hoseok said reluctantly from between Taehyung’s legs. He hovered over Taehyung, dragging his lips along Taehyung’s chest as he spoke. “You should get dressed.” He kissed Taehyung a few more times on his lips, his face, and his chest. Taehyung, with all of his willpower, tried to stay serious because Hoseok was being so sweet and attractive but he was ticklish, he started laughing, and he almost kneed Hoseok in the stomach. Hoseok yelped as he dodged the leg, blew another raspberry on Taehyung’s stomach, and got up to take a shower.
-
After he got out and was searching for clothes, Taehyung tried to mimic the previous night and sneak up on him, but Hoseok saw it coming this time and turned at the last second to peck Taehyung on the lips. Taehyung whined and settled for hugging his shirtless boyfriend around the waist while he got dressed, stealing a couple of neck kisses successfully.
Pants on, hats and gloves ready, jackets hanging by the door, Hoseok and Taehyung shoved their boots on, finished getting read, and pressed out into the white ghost town. They trudged down the steps, nearly slipping and dying, and turned right towards the park down the block. Hoseok had a carrot, some buttons, a pair of mittens, and a cheap, mini top hat in his jacket pockets.
When they made it to the park they were panting and pulling their scarves down to prevent from over heating. It’s surprisingly difficult to walk even a short distance in such deep snow. Hoseok noticed Taehyung’s cute red cheeks and smiled.
“Where do you wanna do this?” Hoseok asked, scoping out their surroundings.
“How about over there?” Taehyung pointed to an area with smooth ground and untouched snow near the swings.
“Oo, good idea.”
They walked over to the area and started rolling snowballs up until they were big enough for the base and mid-section of the snowman. They both slipped several times while rolling the snow around, earning laughs from the other while scrambling to get back up. Taehyung made the head while Hoseok started putting buttons on the snowman and looked for a pair of sticks to use as arms. Eventually they had their complete snowman. It happened pretty quickly because of their teamwork, so they decided to make another. And another. And another. Eventually they had four snowmen: two big ones and two slightly smaller, which they decided were their kids. They made the other faces and outfits out of rocks and acorns. Taehyung even went as far as to make a vest out of acorns for one of them.
“I have an idea,” Taehyung grinned as he pulled off his gloves and whipped out his phone. He snapped a few quick pictures before settling on one, and then he opened up their group chat, titled “Best Team of Shitlords.” It had recently gone through several name changes, all entirely hilarious. Some highlights were “Born to Sin,” which Yoongi changed it to on Christmas, “Big (anime) TiddieS,” which Namjoon did for kicks, and “Bing Translate Sucks,” after some particularly hard Latin homework Jungkook had been working on.
Some of the other titles had stories. Earlier that month, Yoongi had finally worked up the nerve to ask Jimin out. Jimin was a nervous wreck, and the only person he told about being asked out was Taehyung. The rest of the group found out when he changed the chat title to “(is) being (invitied) to (movies) suspiscious???” Yoongi had followed it up with, “Bring Those Sweet (lips),” and Namjoon had changed it to, “Be the safe, (child).” Later that night, it got changed again, to “(requiring) backup, (I accidentally) threw (up on) Suga.” Apparently they had gone to a gory horror movie and Yoongi did not know about Jimin’s weak stomach.
Another fun one was when Jin changed it to “Bring (home) The Sausage” without considering his word choices. Namjoon, being self-employed, immediately stopped work, drove home in a rush, and walked through the door to meet his beautiful fiancée in need of some love. However, Jin was just trying to prepare dinner. He got mad and scolded Namjoon, who later changed the chat to “Brought the (wrong) sausage :c” much to everyone’s disgust.
Taehyung typed out the caption for his picture: “Dads Tae and Hobi with their bratty kids, Kookie and Yoongi.” He showed it to Hoseok before sending it, and Hoseok burst out laughing, grabbing Taehyung’s shoulder and watching his phone excitedly for a reply. Taehyung quickly changed the chat title to “Built The Snowmen!!!”
Almost immediately, Yoongi responded with a series of insults and profanities explaining how he’s older and wiser. Hoseok and Taehyung giggled excitedly while reading it aloud in a mocking, deep voice. Then, Jimin sent a picture in the group chat. When it loaded, they almost fell over laughing because Jimin had taken a selfie, laughing at Jungkook while Jungkook stared, irritated and surprised, at his phone screen. This picture was followed up by another of Jungkook noticing Jimin’s camera and sporting a shocked look, and then another of him reaching out to smack the phone away.
Tears pricked at Hoseok’s eyes from laughing so hard. He wrapped his arm around Taehyung as their laughs subsided and they stared lovingly at their snow-family, waiting for their breaths to even out. Hoseok rested his head on Taehyung’s shoulder and Taehyung kissed the top of his head. Then, Hoseok looked down and noticed their soaking pants. They hadn’t worn snow pants because Hoseok didn’t have any, and now Taehyung was shivering slightly and Hoseok frowned.
“You ready to go back home?” Hoseok asked, concern tinting his words.
“Yeah, let’s go.” Taehyung buried his head in Hoseok’s hair and linked their arms. They set off back up the street toward’s Hoseok’s apartment.
-
When they got back, Taehyung tugged his pants off immediately and ran for Hoseok’s room. He jumped into bed and curled up in the blankets. Hoseok found him shivering and staring at his phone. He patted Taehyung’s butt and then dug through his closet for warm sweatpants, fresh socks, and hoodies. He plopped the clothes down on the bed and started to undress. When Hoseok put his shirt on, Taehyung pulled the blanket over his head.
“C’mon Tae. Put on some warm clothes. You’ll feel better after.”
Taehyung groaned from under the covers. Hoseok walked around the side of the bed and peeled them back just enough to see Taehyung’s face.
“Unless you don’t think we’ll need them,” Hoseok joked while wiggling his eyebrows. Taehyung slapped his stomach and sat up. He swung his legs over the side of the bed, stood up in front of Hoseok, and, kissed his cheek before grabbing his clothes and changing.
“I’m gonna set up Howl’s Moving Castle,” Hoseok called over his shoulder as he left the room. Taehyung grunted in acknowledgement while he hopped on one leg and put on his pants.
When he finished changing, he went to the kitchenette where Hoseok was taking out a bowl to put popcorn in. He pushed Hoseok against the counter and pressed their lips together slowly, tentatively. He pulled away, and then kissed him again and again. He kept kissing him until the microwave beeped, and even then, still kissed his jaw and neck while the older turned slightly to take the popcorn out and empty it into the bowl, his hand held securely on Taehyung’s back. They kissed one final time and Hoseok held up a piece of popcorn. Taehyung opened his mouth and Hoseok plopped the popcorn in. Then they went to the couch.
Hoseok laid across the couch with a pillow behind his head and Taehyung laid on top of him. Hoseok pulled the blanket over the two of them and pressed play on the movie. Their breaths synchronized and slowed. They got absorbed in the movie, laughing and crying as the scenes passed. During the happy parts, Hoseok kissed Taehyung tenderly. During the sad parts, he held him tight. They fell asleep in each other’s arms as the movie ended.
