Sarah Porter had watched the same woman run past her home day after day, but when she’s heading home she doesn’t really think about it, the time is right enough that right as she opens the gate to let herself into the drive she causes a collision. She’s quiet at first as she moves to offer the other woman her hand, her voice softly shy.
“Sorry did I... hit you with the gate?”
“I think I ran into it actually.”
Hollis’ laugh is softly charming and Sarah finds she smiles as she helps the woman up, her eyes trailing over the woman, her eyes focusing in on the woman’s hand still in hers, her smile slight even as she speaks again.
“Well, can I at least offer you a cold drink?”
Hollis considers, clearly looking her over, then shrugs.
“Sure... I’m Hollis, by the way, Hollis Mann.”
“Sarah... Sarah Porter.”
It’s the strangest start to a friendship, or maybe more, that they’ve had yet but Sarah has to admit she wants to get to know Hollis better.
