1. Shoyo Hinata and Yachi Hitoka
"Yachi, do you really think he likes me?"
"E-eh?!"
Yachi was Hinatas greatest support system when it came to figuring out his sexuality, learning he liked Kageyama more than as his volleyball friend, and especially when it came to confessing to him. It really helped them grow closer together as friends. Hinata would present her with a problem (90% of the time it was about Kageyama, though the 10% about school work was certainly a lot easier for her to comprehend) and she would always give the best advice. That had always been their spevial dynamic.
"What makes you think he doesn't like you? I mean you guys have been going out for a week now, haven't you?" Yachi asked as she looked up from her homework.
"Well... Don't get mad at me but-"
"-You didn't get a response did you?" Hinata hid his face, she had gotten it first try.
"You guys still talk all day though? Not to mention your severe PDA. You're telling me that you think he doesn't like you when he has such a clear soft spot for you?"
"But it's different for us you know? We've always been affectionate, even as just friends. He's always been really physically affectionate in general, I've always just played along and, ugh, I can't read him! Yachi just help!" Hinata whined as he grabbed onto Yachi.
Yachi sat still for a second to think of what Hinata just said. A lot of times he's... difficult to understand.
"Wait, Kageyama has always been affectionate with you... physically?"
"Yeah! We did like hugs and he would always try to touch my face and stuff all the time! Why?" Hinata said while he tilted his head in confusion.
"Can you name one other friend he's been this nice to?"
"Um, no, where are you going with this?"
"Well, I think he's liked you longer than you've liked him honestly..."
"WHAT?!"

2. Tobio Kageyama and Tsukishima Kei
Tsukishima pulled up a chair in front of Kageyamas table during lunch, "So, I heard about you and Hinata. Don't let it mess up our game this season," he said with a twinge or sarcasm.
Kageyama nearly spit out his food. He quickly swallowed, choking on his own lunch a little bit-
"We aren't dating!" Kageyama whisper-shouted.
Tsukishima looked at him suspiciously. The past two weeks now Hinata and Kageyama have been (literally and figuratively) all over each other. Yamaguchi had apparently caught them holding hands while walking to practice one day. No way his observations were wrong.
"Oh, but you like him though don't you?" For that Tsukishima was met with a punch to the arm, it even had a slight sting to it.
"Why does it matter to you anyways? Even if I did tell you the truth, all you would do is make fun of me for it," Kageyama sighed.
"So you do like him?"
"... Yeah?"
"Pfft- loser. Imagine being so pathetically down bad you can't tell you two are literally dating, or at least you two may as well be," Kei snickered.
"Asshole, this is exactly how I thought it'd go if I told you. No one cared about when we found out you and Kuroo-Senpai were dating."
"... Me and Kuroo aren't dating."
"That's not what the pictures I have from our last training camp with Nekoma seem to say," Kageyama teased as he pulled out a few photos of Tsukishima and Kuroo a little too close.
"Hey, wait! When did you get those?! Delete them now or I swear to got Kageyama-"
In the end Tsukishima never could get Kageyamas phone out of his grasp.

Shoyo Hinata and Tanaka Ryuunosuke
"Senpai, do you mind if I ask you a kinda important question?"
"Nah little bro, go ahead and ask, I'm an open book!" Tanaka said smiling down to the fellow spiker.
"Were you in love with Kiyoko-Senpai? Not like, just horny, but like, did you have feelings for her?"
Tanaka stood there. He thought it'd be a somewhat more idiotic question. When Hinata says "Important question", it usually means some kind of volleyball talk. They weren't really deep talk level friends, he's only really had that with Noya.
"Well, I wouldn't say it's love quite yet, but I do have genuine feelings! I just don't want to call it love until we've made it official. These few dates don't mean much to someone as mature and adult as Kiyoko-san. Why are you asking exactly?"
Hinata didn't even need to explain for Tanaka to know it had something to do with Kageyama. But he explained anyways. Everything from how his 'confession' had no ' i like you' in it, to all of the conversations he had with Yachi, even some more private matters about him and Kageyamas relationship. It was a lot to take in at once.
"-And, ugh, he just drives me crazy when he compliments me and," Hinata looked up to Tanakas face for the first time this entire ramble, "-Tanaka, you good bro?"
"God, its either Kageyamas stupid, you're stupid, or you're both equally as stupid and absolutely perfect for each other. You never said you liked him?"
"W-well never blatantly! I thought it was obvious that I did after saying I wanted to play with him forever..."
"I think you forget one important fact Shoyo..."
"What's that?"
"Well little crow, Kageyama is what we like to call... socially oblivious. You really think he can read people with how he treated his middle school team?"
"-Too far, Tanaka."
"You're right," Tanaka corrected, "But no matter how you look at it, he likes you dude. You just have to say it to his face. No beating around the bush, just a simple 'I like you', got it?" Tanaka said while he lightly shook his underclassman.
"Ugh, I can try. You know, I knew Bakageyama was dumb, but not that stupid!"
"This is your fault too Hina, you know that right?" Tanaka teased.
"Whatever," Hinata said laughing.

4. Tobio Kageyama and Yamaguchi Tadashi
Kageyama and Yamaguchi had an unlikely friendship. Considering their vastly different personalities and Kageyamas general dislike of the others best friend, one would think they wouldn't get along, but they had one thing in common. A lack of courage to really ask out their crushes, which by the way, seemed just like best friends these past 4 weeks.
"You know Kageyama, you've really helped me out with becoming friends with Yachi-san, I really wish I could help you a bit better with Hinata but you're a little too... stubborn to take my advice."
"Well, could you help me with one thing? It's nothing big don't worry, I just don't want to do it alone,"Kageyama asked of Yamaguchi for the first time.
"Of course! What is it?"
"Um, could you write a note for me to give to Hinata telling us to meet up? Don't worry- I have it all in my notes, I just need you to physically write it," Yamaguchi was holding back his laughter.
"Help! Is that it? Why do you want me to write it exactly?"
"You have good handwriting, I think Hinata can barely read Japanese on its own, it'd at least help him if it was more visually appealing than my actual handwriting..." Kageyama said as he messed with his fingers.
Yamaguchi couldn't hold it in anymore. He started laughing so hard he had flopped onto Kageyamas floor. Something as insignificant as a note had him nervous fidgeting. A sight Yamaguchi would pray only he would see.
"Well, you got me a date with Yachi, i'll write your silly note. Gimmie your phone."
As Kageyama pulled up the document, Yamaguchi noticed how short it was. He snatched his phone from his hands and began writing everything word for word.
Hinata, meet me after practice Friday. We need to talk about some things. See you then, Kageyama.
"Are you really sure this is all you wanna say, Kageyama? It sounds slightly like you're trying to stab him or something," Yamaguchi laughed.
"No, no, believe me, he'll understand."

5. Shoyo Hinata and Tobio Kageyama
"What was the deal with that freaky note, Tobio? You surely don't have good handwriting like that either. You know I almost thought-" Hinata entered.
"Can we talk seriously, just this once? I promise after you can make fun of me using Yamaguchis handwriting when we're done."
Kageyama rarely ever seems truly stressed. Never once did Shoyo think he would be having a real discussion with Kageyama. The kind of sit down and listen talk. Yet he still sat down across from him on the grass and tried his best to not mention the Yamaguchi comment.
"Sure, what is it, Tobio?"
Kageyama was lucky it was dark out, otherwise Hinata would've seen him bright pink because of him calling him by his first name. The name Tobio just really fit Shoyos voice.
"...What the hell kind of confession is 'I want to play volleyball with you forever'. Seriously, we've said that since, like, our first quick attack together. How was I supposed to know you meant you liked me?"
"Hey! Why can you make fun of me when I can't make fun fo you!" Hinata complained.
"Well, because, if you had just said you liked me how a normal person does, we could've been together like, a month and a half ago!"
"Well if you could get it through your thick skull- Wait, what was that last part?"
"I like you, Shoyo. Like I wanna date you, and um, other things kind of like you. I can't believe you never found out." Kageyama sighed as he prepared himself for whatever Shoyo had in store.
"W-well! I also like you, with the dates and kissing and stuff too. Just know I'm still not over you being stupid and never mentioning it for the past month though," Shoyo said cockily.
"I needed other points of view! I needed a lot of help when it came to you, y'know?!"
"Oh yeah, like who?"
"...Tsukishima and Yamaguchi"
"Okay, seriously then, no longer it took so long. Tsukishima is probably praying that i stopped liking you within a month so you would get rejected."
"Not like you could've gotten much better help..."
"I did! Yachi and Tanaka senpai are very helpful people!"
"Only one of those is really reliable, Shoyo," Kageyama joked as he moved closer to Hinata.
"We're stupid, aren't we?" Hinata said, Kageyama laughed in agreement.
They sat in silence next to each other as their fingers slowly intertwined. The weight of the conversation has left, now they just have the bliss that follows.
"Hey, Tobio?"
"Yeah, Shoyo?"
"Are we dating now?"
Kageyama lightly punched Hinata in the arm, "I thought I was the one who couldn't process context clues, of course we are, dumbass."
