Work Text:
The day, flowing in a measured course of minutes and hours, turned out to be quite ordinary, at least within the framework of Pixel's consideration.
Before putting himself to bed and sinking into a night's rest, he and his brilliant, at least for his age, mind put together a pretty good idea for a new invention, which he was planning to create today. According to his calculations, all the necessary details were already prepared, so he wouldn't have to waste so much time searching for the necessary materials. The weather was relatively pleasant, as a result of which Pixel didn't spend time creating a new invention at home; the street seemed like a much better place to do this.
He couldn't have expected that the course of his monotonous work would be shared by someone whom he absolutely didn't expect to see as his assistant.
Pixel was well aware that from time to time Robbie would crawl out of his supposed "hiding place" and walk around the streets of the town, trying to find a good reason to spoil someone's day, but he didn't dare to expect that a person well known as a local villain and troublemaker would help him in his favorite activity. He probably noticed Pixel sitting on the asphalt by the playground with a bunch of various details surrounding him, which is why his interest led him straight to Pixel's so-called workplace.
A simple question about what the young boy was up to brought them to their current position. At first, Pixel was unsure of Robbie's true intentions; something inside him was uncertainly saying that this was another trick to please a bad maneuver, but in the end, he didn't recognize any complicated intent or subtext in his behavior and let Robbie help him.
To his great surprise, Robbie presented himself as a good conversationalist, especially in terms of Pixel's current task: no malicious statements, no unnecessary name-calling; his knowledge and sharp mind were more useful than ever for a good cause.
It was the first time they had done anything together, and, apparently, Robbie was quite passionate about this case. For the first time, Pixel felt that he wasn't disgusted to be in the villains company; someone finally shared his interest in technology and the creation of new inventions. Besides, the presence of an extra pair of hands meant that his project would be ready much sooner than he expected; help was never superfluous.
And Pixel wasn't mistaken at all. The new device was called finished after only an hour from the beginning of its creation, and Pixel wouldn't lie: he was grateful to Robbie for his help and his additional knowledge.
The demonstration of the new invention also went quite well, and the company of his friends appreciated his efforts. For some unknown reason, he didn't dare to announce the villain's involvement in this project, although he probably should have done so because he put quite a lot of effort into assembling Pixel's device.
Instead, he puzzled them all with a sudden question:
"Do you guys really think Robbie Rotten is that bad?.."
