So, I am writing the self-indulgent Simon fic I have wanted to write for half a year now.

Chapter 1: Stripes

Chapter Text

I shouldn't be surprised. Growing up in this family I encountered not just a few of shocking discoveries through my life. Most of these were connected to my dad or my brother, Brendan.
A group of cops busting in the house in the early morning hours can wake you up better than any coffee. I have found guns, drugs, strange messages and once a bag of ropes too that I knew Brendan would not use for kinky purposes.
But out of all of these discoveries the latest one gave me the biggest pause.

There was a man in our kitchen. Not sneaking or not armed. Not even sitting or waiting... he was making coffee in a kitty mug. What the hell, I thought. I was honestly more ready for a stranger tackling me to the ground and beat me up than one being domestic in MY home at 6 am.
And damn, he didn't even flinch when he turned around and noticed me, he just hummed a bit, his brows elegantly lifting a bit before a sly smirk appeared on his way too handsome face.
And I was just standing there in my cute and rudiculously short pajamas shorts that was edged with lace and was covered in crooked stripes and fucking unicorns, a great fit for any 26 year old if you ask me.
Don't ask him though.
His eyes scanned me up and down, his smirk widening.
-Good morning- he said casually like I should remember him. Should I? I started furiously turning the pages in my mind but I knew I would remember a face like that.
-Um. Hi?- I didn't even try to mask the awkwardness. -Hello Stranger making coffee in my home-
The man laughed.
-Um, about that-
This moment Brendan waltzed into the kitchen past me, giving me a stern look.
-Why are you up?
-I'm writing an essay- I explained for a hundredth time to him. He stood midway between coffee guy and me, still awkwardly playing with the doorhandle.
-Well. A little introduction. Wingsy, this is Simon, Simon, this is my sister Wingsy. Simon is going to stay in the guest room for a while- Brendan rushed the words out of his mouth without any real intonation as usually. He hated to talk out loud. So, Simon, I noted. At least my brother seemed to know who he is, such a relief.
-Now excuse us Sister but we have business to get down to- he looked at this Simon so suggestively I wondered for a moment if this is his intimidating face or is Brendan sporting a crush on him. Seemed like he got the message because he suddenly took his mug's contents in one big gulp and followed Brendan out, giving me a side-glance as they passed me.
Fuck me if this is going to be easy- I honestly thought to myself.

Next morning it was something similar.
-Oh. Hello, hi - I stepped in the kitchen at 6:30. Simon was there, preparing eggs.
-Um, hello, Stripes.
-Huh? Stripes?
-A bit crooked, but still stripes.
He looked down at my shorts and back at my face.
-Did you just insult my pajamas?
-Just an observation.
-I have a name, you know.
-I do know. Wingsy. Is that a real name?
-Is Simon a real name?
-...- he smirked and crossed his arms.- Did I actually offend your pajamas?
-Bet your ass you did!- I put my hands on my hips dramatically.
He chuckled.
-Will a coffee be a good enough way to make it up to you?
-Depends. If you make good coffee- I shrugged with a tiny smirk on my face.
-I make the best.
