Work Text:
I'm going to change your name,
based on what you have brought,
Sanemi doesn't think there's something as difficult as pretending. But not like pretending small things, pretending he hates his classmate when the only thing he wants to do is to absorb his entire being in his arms.
Why does he have to pretend this? It's no one's business if he wants to leave a trail of kisses on the black-haired's face and hold him close to his chest as Giyuu pulls his hair to attract him to a passionate kiss. It's such an intimate scene that no one deserves to see or even imagine. His friends still think he hates Giyuu, everyone does.
Because I love you and you love me,
But we owe someone respect.
He really puts a lot of effort into it.
In front of people don't look at me,
Sanemi knows that Giyuu also puts in a lot of effort when he tries to look at Sanemi discreetly.
Don't sigh,
When he thinks about a simple question to ask him in front of his friend group as long as he can hear his voice.
Don't call me,
When he tries to avoid their fingers brushing as he hands him a note in the hallway, and the note says, 'Find me after class in the library.'
Even if you love me,
And then Sanemi will crush the note, pretending he found it on the floor and then he throws it in the trash can. Anyway, no one in the hallway would notice the true intentions written on paper between two classmates who hate each other.
In front of people i'm your friend, i tell you, what a punishment.
His friends know he's in love with someone. Obanai was the first one to notice, and then Mitsuri and Tengen found out too. Sanemi didn't find a way to deny it without them suspecting and doubting his word. So, what remedy?
On top of everything, he avoids saying his voice out of loud, because Sanemi thinks he doesn't deserve to say his name if he doesn't do it with pure adoration and desire in his tone, so he keeps it a secret.
I'm going to change your name,
based on what you have brought...
When they ask him about this person, Sanemi has to avoid letting his eyes wander to the black-haired boy, so his friends don't notice. He says another name instead of it, a name that is not Giyuu's, but in the end, that's what Sanemi feels when he's around.
Glory.
Now your name will be Glory.
"Glory? That's her name?" Sanemi nods. When they look disappointed to realize Glory is a woman, Sanemi doesn't correct them at all. As far as they are from reality, the better for him. So he can keep adoring Giyuu, hidden from everyone's eyes, not afraid to be discovered. So he can look at him and keep his thoughts to himself, with no one being able to figure out his desires about Giyuu.
You've earned it.
The school atmosphere is light, fitting for the summer's end in Japan. Cherry blossom petals mix with the autumn leaves of common trees and drift through the window on the breeze. As if it were a message from the universe, two leaves land on Sanemi's desk, one dark and one light. When he looks outside, the sunset greets him, sending rays of sunlight filtering through the clouds. The warmth blinds him, so he looks down. Now he sees two students sharing an ice cream while holding hands.
Deep down, he knows his heart longs to do the same with Giyuu. To hold his hand and caress it between his own. But he can hold his hand in private, too, while revealing the deepest secrets of his heart under the moonlight at midnight, embracing their two bodies.
Yes, he wants to embrace him in public, to hold him close, to show the whole world that Giyuu is Sanemi's and Sanemi is his, that it will be this way for the rest of their lives, that he will belong to him in this life and all the ones to follow. He wants to kiss his lips, to look into his eyes, and never look away.
He wants to shout to the whole world that he doesn't care, that he loves Tomioka Giyuu, and for the entire country to hear it.
In front of people, I'm your friend,
But he can't.
I tell you, what a punishment.
What a punishment.
That's why, when the time comes for everyone to leave and head home, Sanemi wanders the school, excusing himself by saying he's just clearing his mind. His steps are quick as he makes his way towards the library. He walks even faster as his eyes catch the oak door, making sure no one else is in the hallway, sneaking in and trying not to be seen.
He sighs in relief upon finding the place empty, only the shelves and tables cold to the touch due to the approaching night. He closes the door behind him, knowing perfectly well that this is the signal that he has arrived. His heart beats heavily in his chest as he walks among the bookshelves filled with books he hasn't been able to fully read. Each time he tries to read one, he's interrupted by the same person: Giyuu
Speaking of whom, it seems he decides it's a good moment and finally appears, grabbing Sanemi by the tie of his uniform and pushing him against one of the shelves. Two books fall to the ground, but both are too preoccupied to bother picking them up.
Sanemi's heart seems to settle. Meanwhile, Giyuu stares deeply into his eyes. Those deep blue eyes always manage to ensnare Sanemi within them.
And we'll kiss,
"...Hello," And that's the only thing the black-haired can say before Sanemi attacks him, suddenly kissing him. His body recoils, with Giyuu's back colliding against one of the shelves. Sanemi smiles into the kiss, fully devouring him. Giyuu responds, the desire to claim their lips that they had to hide all day finally able to surface and become reality, so neither of them intends to waste the opportunity. Sanemi's hands wander over Giyuu's body, caressing his sides and wrapping around his back. Giyuu tangles his hands in Sanemi's hair in response without being too rough, pulling him closer every time Sanemi's face pulls away for a fraction of a second as if he might suffocate if they part.
Caged in the moonlight,
It's an unspoken need, but it's there and both Sanemi and Giyuu know it. They kiss with strength, with desire. They draw their bodies together, pushing the physical boundaries, even forcing their hearts to embrace, compelling their souls to hold onto each other and never let go. The scent of books surrounds them, and neither of them makes a move to say a single word. Everything they feel and want to convey is written on their faces as well as in the hundreds of books in the library. They know this because they've been here countless times before.
Secret love, I confess to you...
Sanemi moves his hands away from his body, and Giyuu is about to complain when the white-haired man takes his face in his hands to bring him closer to the kiss. At this point, Sanemi could absorb Giyuu's entire life, and Giyuu would let him do it if it meant he could be his for eternity. The dance of their bodies is threatened by a race between them and the oxygen they need to breathe. If asked, both would say that the only oxygen they need to live is having each other around. Sanemi reaches for his hands, clasping them against the shelf. The grip is strong, as if he wants to pierce his body and take Giyuu's soul in his hands instead.
I love you like no one else.
When the kiss finally breaks, they press their foreheads together as they gasp for air. It's cold now, so much so that their breaths are visible. Giyuu's hair tickles Sanemi's cheek, and unconsciously, Sanemi leans in closer, seeking for more. Giyuu smiles, gently stroking the cheeks of the white-haired boy as well. He closes his eyes, savoring every second of the closeness they have built in just a few short minutes.
And I can change your name
but that doesn't change the story,
whatever your name is,
Sanemi takes one of Giyuu's hands in his and presses a kiss to his palm,
For me, you're the glory.
"Hello, Glory."
