Work Text:

Another day another fight. It had started with verbal assaults and jabs to physical blows and fists thrown, magic flying with abandon to take the other down.

Lucifer had been trying his best to ignore Alastor, not let his jabs and words get to him. Tried to play nice. Tried to not let Alastor win by making the King snap and fight him, that he was above such childish behavior; but when the Radio Demon just had to insult his marriage, make a direct attack at his and Liliths falling out, and had said that Lilith was right to have taken Charlie away as he was too pathetic of a father and did not care about his daughter; that Lucifer only cared about his pathetic and sad existence. That Heaven was right to kick out their mistake and his siblings were right to disown him.

That had been the final straw.

Alastor has no idea what Lucifer has been through, what he’s gone through. He doesn’t know that Lilith had taken Charlie away from him to hurt him at every chance she could get, that the reason their marriage fell apart was because Lilith wanted more and more power and wanted to attack Heaven in retaliation and had no care that they would never stand a chance and that it would put Charlie at risk.

But Lucifer had refused to give her that power, had refused to allow her to lead a second rebellion that would undoubtedly fail. He had sworn to never use his angelic powers for an act that would cause Hell, their kingdom that she oh so loved, as if she ever cared, to be absolutely destroyed just because she held a grudge. Lucifer knew that Heaven would decimate everyone and everything in their realm for a second rebellion that would fail just as the first one had. Unlike Lilith, Lucifer cared about the Hellborn and its residents (sans the sinners). Respects them. Hell was their home before he and the other angels Fell and eventually took control of their home. Lucifer may not care for sinners, may not care what happens to them, but the imps and hellhounds and every other being that came before them do not deserve such a punishment. Do not deserve to be killed for something they want nothing to do with and have never done anything to do with it.

So the King had put his foot down, and Lilith left because of it, spitting and cursing his name on her way out.

Alastor doesn’t know that when the Queen had taken the Princess away had utterly destroyed the King. Does not know how hard he had fought tooth and nail to keep the little girl that was only brought to life because Lilith had demanded it and refused to take no for an answer. Had only wanted a child as a pawn in her sick and twisted game of life. The woman didn’t want a child, she wanted a chess piece. Lucifer had fought so hard for custody when the divorce papers were been put in front of him, but life had been against him, Roo had been against him, and he lost.

He didn’t even get visitation rights.

Alastor doesn’t know how many nights he cried for his child, cried to hold her again and play with her, make her smile and laugh and bring her joy and give her all the love she deserves.

Alastor doesn’t know that Lilith had put up wards that he could not take down or get through. Had put up barriers to keep thr King out and away from his little lady.

Alastor doesn’t know that Lilith spewed lies and deceit to Charlie and convinced their daughter that Lucifer does not love her and wanted nothing to do with her, that he has abandoned her and never wanted to see her again, that he blamed her for his and Lilith's marriage falling apparat and them getting the divorce.

That had purely been Liliths fault. Lucifer had tried so hard to keep her happy and satisfied and make their marriage work, not only for them but for Charlie as well, but it was never enough. He was never enough for the first woman.

Alastor doesn’t know that Lilith isolated him, had deceived the Sins into thinking that Lucifer wanted nothing to do with them as well as he saw himself above them, just like she had with Charlie.

Lucifer could never see himself as such and desperately wanted them in his life. They had become his makeshift family, had become his brothers and sisters after he had lost his first family. They may be messy, really messy, but they always came together at the end of the day.

He misses them dearly and yearns for them, for their love and comfort.

That had been the second biggest blow, had been the second biggest hurt to lose them because of Lilith's serpent tongue.

Lucifer may be called the Father Of All Lies, but that title truly belonged to Lilith. He could not lie for the life of him, while every other word was falsehood and deception and lies.

Alastor doesn’t know how much Lucifer pleaded for Heaven to hear his prayers, how desperate he wanted and missed his big brothers and big sisters, his Mother. Doesn’t know that when he had been cast out, Lucifer had seen his siblings weep and had felt their heartbreak as he Fell into the cruel depths of Hell once Michael casted him out and declared him Fallen.

Alastor doesn’t know shit, yet speaks like he knows all the answers and truths in the universe and knows Lucifer’s entire life story more than Lucifer knows it himself.

Lucifer had had enough of his goading and begging for a fight, and had given him one.

One of the Kings abilities is being able to pull forth his subjects soul, to see into their past and see why they landed in the cesspool for their sins. To see their life story. Lucifer doesn’t use it as he does not care for it, only dragging sinners soul out who had dared challenge him. With a thorn laced chain as a reminder that they belong to him and to remind them who is in charge, he’d drag them forth and brought them to their knees and would leave them begging for mercy and forgiveness that he would never give them.

But he had used his power from when he had been gifted in Heaven, and used the information he learned about the damned dear demon against him.

Lucifer had told Alastor how disappointed his mother would be in him, how horrified she would be if she knew who he had become and what he has done. That he killed her husband and ate him. Had murdered so many people and feasted upon their flesh. Had used her teachings for evil.

Lucifer had taunted him with the death of a girl who was Alastors only friend when he had been alive, who had unfortunately ended her own life.

He knew that it was a low blow and was not right to say such things, but Lucifer had not cared in the moment. He just wanted to hurt Alastor as he had hurt him.

Lucifer had told him that although he was bad at it, at least he cared for others and has emotions. That he feels love, genuine love, whereas Alastor wouldn’t know what love would feel or look like if it hit him in the face with a brick.

It had escalated the fight, had made it get out of hand. Words blurred together as the hotel took a lot of damage from their hate and anger filled brawl. Fists had been thrown and Lucifer had to hold back as to not bring the entire building down and downright kill the bastard.

Lucifer had been too consumed with rage and hatred, had blood rushing through his ears that blocked out all sound as he laid into Alastor as much as he could without actually killing the prick, that he hadn’t noticed Alastor shifting his form back down and played victim, hadn’t noticed the hotels residents gather around, hadn’t noticed Charlie rushing up behind him and only snapped out of it when she tore him off of Alastor and threw him aside, putting a wall between the two men.

“What the hell is wrong with you?!” She had screamed in his face, her horns displayed in pure rage with her tail lashing behind her and her eyes blaring red with slitted white irises, a near match to his own demonic features that were on display as he tore into the fucker with all the hate and rage he stored for Heaven.

Charlie had cursed his name, had yelled that it was a mistake to let him back into her life and to live in the hotel. Had screamed that she wished he wasn’t her father. She had screamed at him for what felt like eternity, tearing into her father with claws and knives that tore him apart and destroyed him.

Lucifer had just stood before her and took it all, never once interrupting her nor tried to defend himself and explain what had happened.

“I see. I’m sorry, Charlie.”

With a snap of his fingers, Lucifer removed his apple tower attached to the hotel and transported everything he had brought along with him back to the Morningstar palace

Without another word, Lucifer left.

Alastor had won and there was nothing he could have done about it.

Charlie loved and looked up to him as though he were her true father, the father she wanted.

Now back in the palace, alone yet again, Lucifer stared at his latest project. It was another plush, a design similar to Razzle and Dazzle. It wasn’t to replace Dazzle, far from it. It was supposed to give Razzle a friend and give Charlie a second butler/bodyguard. It would have been a female this time ‘round with the name Darling. She was supposed to be a surprise for Charlie and hopefully make her feel better from the loss of Dazzle. But it was not to be.

He burned the project and rested his head on the old and worn workbench where he would stay for days without moving, heartbroken and crushed.

Once again he had lost everything and was left with nothing.
