Chapter Text
Jackson Hyde was awoken by the bright Missouri sun hitting his eyes. He reluctantly rolls out of bed, his aching body making it difficult. Ocean master had attacked Amnesty bay the other day.(Sometimes he wonders why Orm keeps trying.). The resulting battle left Jackson pretty beat up and bruised. Luckily his boyfriend Wallace carried him all the way back to their apartment in Central city. It was a modest apartment, a single bedroom, the kitchen and living room were connected overall a modest living. Arthur had wanted to put them in some place nicer but both Ace and Jackson refused. They didn’t need anything fancy as long as they were together they were fine.
Jackson walked through their apartment walking past pictures of friends and family. Jackson stops at a picture on the table. It’s of his and Ace’s first date, Ace had taken him around Central city. They went to the zoo, ate ice cream and went to a car show. The picture was them in front of a burst themed muscle car, ace almost cried when he saw it. Jackson puts the picture down and continues walking to the kitchen. When he reaches the kitchen he sees Ace making coffee. He’s wearing his orange durag while shirtless, his back slightly flexing with each movement. Jackson slowly walked up to him and wrapped his arms around his waist. He put his head in his neck, Ace smelled like cherry cologne and a barbershop. Ace looked back at him with a comforting smile on his face.
“Good morning” Ace said with nothing but love in his words
“Mornin” Jackson said still groggy from sleep
“How’d you sleep” Ace couldn’t help but say it sarcastically
With the little brain power he had Jackson looked Ace in the eyes and said “Like shit”
Ace couldn’t help but let out a chuckle “Figured”.
