Work Text:
"For the record, this is a terrible idea," Katsuki grumbled.
Izuku full out laughed from where he was getting dressed in their closet.
The closet was a little oversized but Katsuki loved every part of it. He had made sure it was fitted with a whole plethora of shelving and displays that maximized storage without sacrificing practicality. His mother had helped ensure they had the best possible arrangement.
He also loved how much the ceiling height shelving dwarfed his petite husband.
“You’re being dramatic, babe.”
Katsuki grunted. “You don’t know these guys, nerd. They’re gonna like you… too much.”
Izuku emerged from the closet and leaned against the doorframe with a smile on his face.
He glanced up and drank in the sight. It wasn’t often that Izuku managed to put together outfits that required no fashion input, but gods above when he did? Katsuki felt weak in the knees.
This outfit he had parsed together made him look so good that Katsuki had half a mind to blow his friends off for the night to focus his attention elsewhere. Tight black pants that hugged in all the exact right places. An emerald green silken shirt with a deep v-neck and three quarter sleeves, a single strap of green fabric going over his collarbones. A few key pieces of gold jewelry to match their wedding rings, and a sprinkling of light sparkly eyeshadow and mascara that made his eyes glow. Maybe even a tiny bit of lip tint.
Katsuki wanted to eat him.
Izuku flushed under his gaze. “Too much?”
”N-No.” He cleared his throat. “No, not too much. S’nice.”
His husband fiddled with the hem of his shirt, which brought it up enough to reveal his soft tummy. “I just didn’t want to look like a plebeian when we go to meet all these important people to society and to you.. I know my usual style is a little lacking so I wanted to fancy up in case they did too. And I just wanna look good next to you-!”
Katsuki silenced him with a searing kiss.
Izuku hummed and leaned in, his hands reaching up to grasp at Katsuki’s shirt.
”You are makin’ it really hard to keep our dinner plans, ‘Zu,” Katsuki murmured against his lips.
Izuku smiled and kissed him again. “I live to please, Kacchan.”
”Don’t I know it,” he rumbled.
A lifetime of knowing this man and Katsuki fell a little more in love with him every day. It was absolutely disgusting if he thought about it too long. Time and affection - ugh - had made him soft and mushy to his core. He hated it.
He didn’t really he just felt big and aggressive feelings about his cute tiny husband thank you very much.
Izuku was so integral to his life that Katsuki could never imagine a life without him in it.
Luckily, their big scare from a few weeks ago had cleared up without any further complications. Izuku had come out of the incident with little more than a scar at his hairline and a twinge in his left elbow joint.
Recovery had been a stressful affair but Katsuki was so glad that window of time was behind them.
Katsuki reached a hand up to cup one of Izuku’s freckled cheeks. He stared down at that precious face and drank in every inch of it. “I love you so much that it drives me crazy,” he said.
Izuku beamed up at him, fingers lacing with his own. “I love you too, Kacchan.”
He kissed him again and then made himself pull away. “We gotta go or I’m not gonna let you leave this house,” Katsuki told him with a little smirk.
His husband giggled and nodded. “You can help me get out of the outfit later, babe.”
What a little shit. “I’m holding you to that, ‘Zuku.”
Izuku grinned impishly and sashayed off to the bathroom.
Katsuki found it hard to direct his eyes elsewhere when his husband’s ass looked so good in those pants. Goddamn that confidence. It was gonna kill him one of these days.
He stepped into their closet and dressed himself in something that would match without going overboard. Katsuki settled on a pair of black pants with some custom orange embroidery at the bottom of the leg that his dad had done for him. He paired it with a black shirt with orange trim and buttons, the sleeves rolled up to his elbow to show the black and orange print inside. Then, because he was a mushy pile of garbage, he put in emerald green gauges in his ears.
”And you get on me for looking too good,” Izuku said in an appreciative tone.
Katsuki couldn’t help the grin that tugged at his lips. He turned to find his husband sweeping an appeasing gaze over his form. “You kind of set a bar, ‘Zu. I’m just matching your energy.”
Izuku met his gaze but his eyes were half lidded. “I’d say we’re both playing with fire then, Kacchan.”
He hummed and tugged Izuku forward by the front of his pants.
Then they were kissing again. It was charged and heady that set up the promise of much more later on.
”We need to go,” Katsuki murmured.
Izuku whined a single note of complaint but pulled away. “But we can pick this up again later?”
He kissed those pouty lips again and tried not to get lost in them. “Course we can.”
”I’m holding you to that, ‘Suki.”
A shiver rolled down his spine. Katsuki had heard his name fall from those lips a thousand different ways over the years. He had heard his full name, he had heard every tone use of Kacchan known to man, and then there were those beautiful times when Suki came out. Those were the times that he cherished the most because they were rare and usually saved for their most intimate moments.
Times like now when their warm breath brushed against each other’s cheeks. Times when their noses were close enough to brush, times where Katsuki could feel the brush of Izuku’s lashes against his cheek. Times when he could look and memorize the pattern of freckles smattered across that cute face. Times when he could stare into viridian eyes and get lost in their depths.
Times when Suki fell from Izuku’s lips and he fell into a bit of a trance because of it.
Katsuki loved him so much.
“We need to go, Kacchan.”
He chuckled and kissed Izuku’s cheek. “Fine, let’s go then. I don’t need the shitheads getting their panties all twisted.”
Izuku giggled and let himself be tugged towards the front door.
It had been a bit of a debate with the Hellsquad when it had come down to location for their dinner date. They had all wanted a place that was safe and not too high profile like one of their homes, but also could handle having the entire class together in one place.
So, they had rented out a house for the occasion. It has been Aizawa’s idea at the end of the day. He had come in amidst their bickering in the groupchat to announce the address and then ordered them to figure out dinner.
They had been out of UA for a decade and still the man acted as their Class Dad. They didn't admit it out loud a lot, but they cherished him more than any other teacher they had had. Aizawa had put in more than his due in when handling their class.
Katsuki was glad to see that the pictures online had been accurate to the real deal. It looked just as welcoming as it had in the rental posting. It was a good place for them to meet, discreet without being sketchy, off grid and yet still within the city limits. He could see why Aizawa had chosen it.
They could see shadows moving on the drawn curtains which was clear indication of life and activity inside. Which meant they weren't the first to arrive. Good, right in the middle where Katsuki liked to be.
Izuku tugged him to a halt just before they reached the front door. "Kacchan..."
Katsuki frowned. "What is it? You okay?"
His husband wrung his hands together. "I just..." Izuku bit his lip. "What if they don't like me?"
All the tension that had built up died away in an instant. Katsuki offered him a small smile. "Then we leave their asses and never worry about dinner parties ever again."
Izuku seemed troubled by that response. "But they're your friends and coworkers. I don't wanna make things bad for you if things go wrong.
"Izuku."
That caught the nerd's attention real quick. He perked up and met his gaze head on.
"They already loved you when you were words on a screen," Katsuki pointed out in a gentle tone. "They'd be absolute idiots not to love you even more in person."
Izuku watched him for a moment and then nodded. "Okay. Let's go then."
Katsuki wrapped an arm around his waist and knocked on the door.
There was a noticeable clamber of sound within the house, as well as a few excited voices that were loud enough to hear the tone of. Then the door was being wrenched open to reveal a beaming Kirishima.
"Baku-bro! Welcome!"
He rolled his eyes. "Heya, Red. Sorry we're a lil late."
Kirishima waved a hand at that. "Nah, don't sweat it, man. It's a casual meet up." His attention then shifted to Izuku, his eyes sparkled with excitement. "And you must be the mystery husband! It's so good to finally meet you, Izuku. I'm sorry I didn't know you existed until recently."
Izuku blinked in surprise before laughing. "Pleasure to meet you too, Kirishima; and no offense taken. We kept things under wraps after all."
The hero visibly paused and then shifted his gaze to Katsuki. “You landed yourself a softie, Kat.”
He felt the tip of his ears go red. “Fuck off, Red,” he grumbled.
Izuku giggled. Traitor.
”Come in, come in. We’re still waiting on a few people to get here before dinner starts.”
Katsuki ducked his head and guided Izuku in. They switched out their shoes for house slippers and entered the fray.
The kitchen of the house was a mess of activity. People were moving all over as they orchestrated a meal fit for the group of them.
After a quick head count, he realized they were only missing Pikachu, Ears, and Spiderman. All three of which Katsuki was pretty sure had been on patrol that day. It was no wonder they were late. He hadn’t seen or heard Dad or the Cockatoo, so it was unlikely they had arrived yet.
"Guys! Kat and his husband have arrived," Kirishima announced.
Every head in the kitchen whipped around and all eyes fell on them.
Katsuki raised a brow while Izuku ducked his head and smiled. "What the fuck are you lot starin' at?"
Iida was the first to approach, offering a sharp bow and his typical choppy hands while he introduced himself.
A quick glance at the nerd made him feel mushy. He could recognize that sparkle in his eyes from dead sleep. It was like triggering a sprinkler and accepting that the water was going to hit you no matter where you moved. Katsuki loved it.
"Y-You're Ingenium," Izuku whispered in awe. "Your quirk is so cool! The fact that you learned to overcome the weakness your brother struggled with for so long is so admirable. He must be proud of you. I really love the charities you've selected as part of your hero career, I think they're very respectable choices that aren't spoken about a lot..."
With a fond roll of his eyes, Katsuki tapped his husband's shoulder. "Zuku, chill out a little."
Izuku halted mid-word and blinked. "Oh! I'm so sorry, Ingenium. I love meeting heroes, especially since you're one of Kacchan's friends!"
Silence took the room.
"He said friends right?" Mina whispered with a toothy smile. "Oh my god have we finally gotten Blasty to outwardly admit that he likes us?"
"Kacchan?" Uraraka questioned with a shit eating grin.
Katsuki flipped her off and tried to convince himself that he wasn't blushing.
"It's alright," Iida placated Izuku with a gentle smile. "It took me by surprise but I am honored nonetheless. I hadn't realized my career was all that interesting. It's great to meet you, Izuku."
Izuku laughed, a bit shy now, but still just as enthusiastic. "I think all heroes are interesting. Each is a part of a bigger puzzle at work and each have their roles to fill. I think the only one that I have ever hated was Endeavor."
It was like the mere mention of hatred for Endeavor was enough to spawn Todoroki to the room. "You hate him too?"
The entire class knew about IcyHot's family drama. Once he had teamed up with his oldest brother to bring light to Endeavor's bullshit, it had become public knowledge. The Hellsquad had stepped up to support Todoroki in the media nightmare that followed. They had done their best to shield him and steer away any errant reporters. It hadn't been easy but they all knew Todoroki had been grateful for their help and protection.
Katsuki sent a quick smirk to Izuku before he spoke. "It's a lil more than hatred, Icyhot. Who do you think was helping your crispy brother in obtaining documentation?"
Todoroki's brow furrowed. "We never found out their identity, they just went by the name-.."
"Nemo," Izuku finished with a bright pink blush on his cheeks. "I was just glad to be able to help at all, really," he mumbled.
Icyhot stared at his nerd for a solid minute. "I'm going to marry your husband, Bakugou."
"The hell you are," Katsuki shot back. "He's mine and taken. Has my name and everything."
"You are so interesting already, Izuku," Mina gushed. "I can't believe Kat hid you for so long!"
”Yeah... how did he manage to keep you a secret for so long?” Todoroki asked. His head was slightly tilted.
Izuku whispered that he looked like a cat. Katsuki had to muffle laughter.
”We learned to be really good at hiding it,” Izuku replied. “A lot of people target me once they learn I am quirkless. So our secrecy was partially an act of privacy and partially for safety. Kacchan could handle himself but it’s.. easier for people to come after me. We were both realistic about the fact that I could be used as a weakness against him."
Katsuki hated to think about the reality of those words. But it was the truth. Even if Izuku had the highest rank in several martial arts, even if he was trained and mentally ready to thwart attacks, quirks could still overwhelm him. The people who used their quirks to attack quirkless people were ruthless in their use which led to extra danger. It also meant that villains would see Izuku as an easy target for his lack of quirk. Which was just an all around bad reality to live.
"I really fucking hate society as a whole sometimes," Shinsou grumbled.
Vice Prez stepped forward and put her hand on Izuku’s shoulder. “It saddens me to hear that our society is still in a state where such drastic measures need be taken in the name of safety. I am sorry you’ve been made to live this way, Izuku.”
Katsuki was sorry for it too, but he had no apologies for society’s sake. He’d tear apart the world brick by brick if it meant there would be safety for Izuku. He just didn’t have much hope that such a monumental effort would change anything.
Todoroki put a hand to his chin, “Both of which are compelling and understandable reasons. But I have to wonder if there was something else to the matter. Like what if you're secretly some kind of Nedzu Jr. that is too dangerous to be part of the public side of society?”
”Oh my god, there he goes,” Uraraka muttered in amusement.
Izuku glanced sideways at him. “So you weren’t kidding about the conspiracy thing?” He murmured.
Katsuki shook his head. “He’s been that way since UA. It's like a compulsion he has."
"Special interest," Todoroki corrected gently. "Some of them connect too many dots to be sheer coincidence."
"Alright Captain Autism, my bad."
Izuku perked up. "You're a person with autism, Todoroki? I have ADHD! It's nice to have another neurodivergent around. Well, Kacchan has some kind of neurospiciness but he's never gotten formally diagnosed with anything because he's stubborn."
"I will be happy to serve as the autistic friend," Todoroki said in a cheeky tone.
"I'll handle my issues when they become a problem," Katsuki griped. "I am managing well, thank you very much."
His husband scoffed. "Kacchan, I love you, but we both know that's a lie. But I refuse to try and diagnose you anymore because you get pouty."
"Do not."
"Do too."
"Do not, nerd."
"You so do, babe."
"This is such a bizarre turn up from the Baku-bitch I'm used to," Uraraka said.
"Agreed, ribbit," Tsu chimed. "He seems a lot more calm around Izuku."
"I know right," Ghostie squealed. "I love them together!"
"I'm living for the sass they feed each other," Kirishima laughed. "It's like old people bickering."
Katsuki whipped around with a glare. "Who are you calling old, Red? Fuck off with that. I've just known this loser my entire life, we know how to communicate with each other."
Mina sniffled. "C-Childhood sweethearts? Oh my god I'm gonna lose it."
"Such joyous tidings are too bright for this shadow wanderer," Tokoyami grumbled. "I neglected to bring sunglasses."
Izuku squealed and raced over to birdboy. "Tsukuyomi! W-Would it be alright if I met Dark Shadow? She's just spectacular."
Tokoyami stared and squinted a bit. "The full force of the sun is no less blinding."
Dark Shadow appeared with a delighted squawk and introduced herself.
Katsuki watched from his position beside Kirishima. It was more pleasing than he had ever guessed it might be to see his most prized person accepted into the Hellsquad's fold so easily. The fond looks the idiots kept sharing while Izuku rambled about anything and everything made him feel satisfied. Yet there was a bit of guilt there too. He could have introduced them sooner. Maybe Izuku wouldn't have been so lonely if he had forged connections like this earlier.
”He’s sweet, Kats,” Kirishima said to him, nudging at his shoulder. “I can see why you married him.”
He hummed in acknowledgement. "He's the best thing that ever happened to me," he admitted.
”I’m happy for you, man.”
”Thanks.”
A knock sounded on the door behind them.
”Coming!” Kirishima called out as be meandered over to the genkan again.
Izuku was surrounded by the nerd squad - as Katsuki had always called them - and speaking with vibrant excitement as they let him study the physical aspects of their quirks. Class Prez even admitted to being unsure to a few inquiries, but was delighted to find out and report back.
Katsuki felt content to watch. It was the first time in a long time that his spouse had gotten a chance to indulge in a full out quirk info-dump session. Pair that existing loneliness with an attentive audience? And you got a smile that radiated so much warmth that it became a physical sensation.
It was one of his favorite parts about living with Izuku. One of his favorite things to come home to. Because that smile he received made every ache and mental quandary from a day of hero work worth it. Just seeing that blinding expression was enough to calm him down and settle any turmoil that lingered.
Katsuki’s favorite brand of comfort came by the name Bakugou Izuku.
"Okay, Kacchan?"
He blinked to find his husband looking at him with concern.
"M'okay," he replied. "Got lost in thought, is all. Having fun, baby?"
Izuku nodded. "Your friends are so nice. I'm so happy I finally got to meet them."
He huffed. "Pretty sure they're our friends now. They've totally adopted you."
"You think so?"
"Yup."
"Dad's here!" Kirishima called.
Katsuki turned to find Aizawa, with Yamada beside him, staring at his petite lover.
There was a long moment of silence as the two of them processed.
"I really thought I would come here and find out the reveal of your secret spouse was a fever dream," Aizawa droned.
Izuku was almost vibrating with excitement beside him. "Eraserhead is married to PRESENT MIC?!"
Yamada snickered, looking all too pleased with the situation at hand. "It's been a while since someone had that revelation around us. I kinda missed it."
”Zashi, Bakugou is married.”
”I noticed, Shou.”
Katsuki snorted and shook his head at the combined befuddlement. How typical. “Is it really so surprising that I’m married to this nerd?” He asked.
“Yes,” Aizawa replied immediately. “I just… didn’t take you as a marrying type?”
Izuku let out a small giggle. “Okay that’s fair. I was just very convincing.”
”I was too,” Yamada said in a matching gleeful tone. “I think we have a lot in common there, kiddo. Nice to meet you!”
”Likewise, Present Mic! I have listened to Hands Up Radio for so long! I love that you’ve started up guest segments where you talk about so many sensitive topics. I think it’s so important to bring those hard conversations to light and-…”
Katsuki tuned out his mumbling cutie for a moment as Aizawa came up to him.
”How long?”
“Together since we were sixteen, married at twenty three.” Man, that still felt wild to think about. They would be celebrating five years come August. Katsuki tossed him a smirk. “I think you and the cockatoo have us beat by a few years with that timeline, Dad.”
”A bit,” Aizawa conceded. “Zashi was just so damn eager that he convinced me to get married at eighteen. I didn’t care either way. And now here I am thirty fucking years later still in love with his loud ass.”
The two of them could only watch as their chosen partners got along like a house on fire. Welp. That was an anticipated outcome.
"I think my husband has been adopted," Katsuki commented.
"Probably. Has he been getting along with the hell spawn so far?"
"Almost too well."
"That figures."
In fact, the quick bonds Izuku had managed to forge painted a picture that made him a bit sad. Katsuki could just imagine attending UA with Izuku at his side. He could imagine the shenanigans that might have unfolded with his favorite chaos gremlin there. What an experience it would have been.
Instead, Izuku had attended high school online because no teacher would protect him from the copious bullies that seemed to exist everywhere. The injuries had become too much, his mental health had become too delicate. He had graduated top of his class but didn't have a ceremony. There had only been thankful tears that those horrid years were behind him at long last.
Yeah.. Katsuki would have loved to see his husband bloom under the excellent teaching of the UA faculty. Maybe in another life the world had been kind enough to let such a thing come to pass.
"I give it five minutes until Izuku hits you with a glowing appraisal of your hero stats and accomplishments," Katsuki said with a smirk.
Aizawa raised an eyebrow. "My stats aren't public domain."
"Oh I know, but Izuku will still know them."
"...Okay then."
"Kaminari, Jirou, and Sero will be along shortly," Iida announced to the group. "Their patrols this evening were successful and uneventful."
"That's good, it's been a bit wild lately," Sweets said with a sigh of relief. "We don't need any more weird things going on."
Katsuki grunted in agreement. There had been an odd uptick in villainous activity as of late. Izuku had mentioned it to him a few months ago, way before anyone else, with concern clear on his face. It had been enough to get him paying closer attention. He just couldn't figure out what it all meant, if anything. He hoped to everything holy it wasn't the beginning of another League of Villains situation. Japan had seen enough of such catastrophic damage at the hands of such a group. They didn't need another one rising from the ashes.
"As long as you all are tuned in to your surroundings, you'll be fine," Izuku encouraged. "I'm sure that kind of hypervigilance is already second nature for all of you, so I believe you'll be fine." Twin viridian eyes landed on him with a warning glare. "And you will stay out of the hospital if something does come up."
"Oi, I haven't even been to the hospital for work related bullshit in months. The most recent occasion was your doing, 'Zuku."
Izuku pouted. "My threat still stands, Bakugou Katsuki."
"Ooh, full name use," Uraraka chuckled. "He's serious, Blasty. Better heed your husband's words."
Katsuki felt miffed by the accusations. "I'm not even the worst for injuries. He's just biased."
"As your devoted spouse and lover," Izuku interrupted, "I am telling you that there will be consequences if you break your streak."
Someone hid a snort of laughter in their hand.
He tilted his head and raised his chin a bit in silent challenge. "What kind of consequences?"
"No cuddles until you are cleared for active duty again," Izuku said, crossing his arms.
"What?!"
"Ooooh shit," Shinsou said in a drawl, eyes glowing with mischief.
Uraraka was howling with laughter.
Several others were snickering.
"That's cruel and unusual punishment."
"It's gets my point across though, doesn't it?"
Fuck. The nerd had him there. Katsuki glared at him.
Izuku, the darling bastard, was so proud of himself. It showed in every bit of his body language and the smug smirk that mirrored the one Katsuki himself wore when taking down villains.
He fucking loved that confidence even if would one day kill him. It had taken a lot of time and patience to foster its appearance in his husband. It was such a goddamn vision to behold every time it oozed out of Izuku's lithe body.
"Atta boy, Izuku," Yamada crowed. "Hit him where it hurts."
"Whoa, did we just walk into a husband quarrel?" Pikachu exclaimed. "Shit, I should have brought popcorn."
Katsuki ignored the new arrivals. "Fine," he reasoned, "but if you end up in the hospital again within the next six months, I'm cancelling your auction site subscription for three months."
Every bit of that comeuppance faded from Izuku in an instant. "You wouldn't dare."
"The stakes you've set are high, 'Zu. Take what you reap unto others," Katsuki said, sending the love of his life a teasing smirk.
Izuku's nose wrinkled up but he stuck out his hand. "The bet is set."
"The bet is set." Katsuki shook the offered hand. "Pleasure doing business with you."
"Reverently, fuck you."
He laughed.
"I am so lost," Ears commented. "But hey everyone! Sorry for the hold up. Someone had a fashion emergency."
Katsuki perked up at that. "Did you break your fucking helmet again, Spiderman?"
Sero flipped him the bird. "It's a delicate item, so yes. But also shush. You're no better with your fucking gauntlets, Kat."
"Touché."
The evening became a chaotic mess from there on.
Everyone welcomed Izuku in with arms wide open and listened with rapt attention as he went on tangents about their quirks. (All observations a mirror of the ones Izuku had painstakingly detailed in one of his coded notebooks, Katsuki noted with a fond little twinge in his heart.) They answered what questions they could and then hypothesized with his nerd in return.
Katsuki helped finish up dinner, peeking up every now and again to spot the blind glee on his husband's face. Seeing that expression there made him feel like his internal battery was charging. The best person in his life was brimming with excitement and joy. In that moment, the shadows of quirkless discrimination and past bullying all fell away. Katsuki loved getting to see him shine.
"He is a bit frightening in his intellect, even if I am impressed beyond measure," Aizawa said to him at some point. "The way his mind works reminds me a bit of Nedzu."
"I'm also terrified to try and introduce them," Katsuki mumbled. "I don't think Nedzu would ever let him go again. Not until they had taken over and reformed society, at least."
Aizawa didn't reply but the shudder that rolled through him said a lot.
Dinner was delicious and full of laughter and conversation.
It settled some of the silent tension that had been in the base of his shoulders to see them all together. Katsuki had known the introduction would go well, but it was still nice to see that proven to him first hand.
He could already tell that Izuku was going to be a much more prominent part of his work life from now on. The press had been rapid for any kind of details about his slip up. They had been hounding the entire agency and everyone that he had ever talked to. It was only a matter of time until the truth unfurled in full. Which meant they would have to up security at their home, and that Izuku would be coming with him to the agency. Katsuki had already been working on getting Izuku onboarded as a live quirk analyst for when they were in brawls. His mind was sharp and quick enough to pick up even the most minute details within seconds of observing a quirk in use. He would be an invaluable asset to their team.
Plus, if he was at the agency, then Katsuki wouldn't have to fret about their home being attacked or some shit while he was out on duty. It was a double win in many ways.
He had been intending to unveil that little surprise on their anniversary but, as with many aspects of his life, that was out of his hands now. Katsuki knew he would have to act soon. There was no telling how quickly the truth would be unveiled. Goddamn media vultures.
After dinner was finished and the dishes handled, they all settled in various spots in the vast living room of the rental house to converse further. It was here that his friends - the assholes - decided it was time to bring out any embarrassing stories that happened to include Katsuki.
He hated them.
(He didn't really.)
It was worth it to see his love's reaction though. He could admit that.
Izuku burst into bright laughter, sinking into his side.
Katsuki loved seeing his darling so happy, even if it was a bit at his expense.
The entire room seemed to turn in and fall towards the joyful giggles. Several of the Hellsquad had stupid little smiles on their faces. Sappy shits, the lot of them.
”Sorry,” his husband said, happy tears dotting his eyes. “I’ve just heard so much about you all secondhand from Kacchan over the years, and now I get to see your bonds firsthand and I just…” Izuku trailed off and fixed him with a warm gaze. “You care so much for them, Kacchan. I’m so happy that you have them to lean on.”
His heart thudded heavy in his chest. He loved this man with every goddamn fiber of his being. Katsuki huffed and did his best to ignore the blush on his face. “Shut up, nerd.” It was said without any heat.
Izuku beamed.
”Awww,” Mina squealed, “they're so cute!”
”Boomboy cares about us and admitted it out loud to someone,” Denki pretended to sob.
Ears rolled her eyes and patted his shoulder. "There there, Electabuzz."
"Whatcha thinkin', Shou?" Yamada asked, patting his spouse on the shoulder. "Gonna adopt this kiddo too?"
"Alright," Aizawa groaned, dropping his head in his hands. "I fucking concede. I will consider Izuku a part of this Hell Class too."
A roar of cheers took the room.
Izuku looked at him in shock.
Katsuki chuckled and kissed him. "You are officially adopted in, congrats 'Zuku."
His husband burst into tears and buried his face into his chest.
He laughed and pet through his hair. "Ahh you crybaby. I love you."
"Is he good, Kats?" Ears asked.
Katsuki snorted and turned to them. "Alright, fuckers, listen up. If Izuku is gonna be part of the family-.."
Tail pretended to gag, smirking after.
"Fuck off, Tail. If he's gonna stick around in this bullshit. There's a few things you should know."
Izuku sniffled and smacked his stomach with a light hand. "Don't be mean, Kacchan."
"You like me mean," Katsuki said without any hesitation.
A few of the Hellsquad hooted and whistled as Izuku blushed a bright red.
"First thing's first: He's a crybaby."
