Chapter 1: first impressions - gen, chrome

Chapter Text

Chrome

  • When you're first revived from the petrification, he spends some time staring at you, studying you like some sort of specimen. It's the first time he's seen the process up close, and he mumbles "totally bad" when he realizes how awesome it is that you're a living person from the past that Senku talked about.
  • His first impression of you in one word is that you're.. strange. Or maybe unique is the better word? He's still a bit confused with the way people of your era would act, but he quickly gets along with you.
  • Chrome would try to show off some of his tricks, like rainbow bridge, and sulk when you tell him you already knew flames could change color. Can't a guy like him just know more than one of you for once?!
  • He asks you a lot of questions about life before petrification. They were all scientific in nature at first, but when he realizes your knowledge in that field is nowhere near Senku's, he changes the topic of his questions to what your life was like.  A lot of these questions are about how you and other "modern" people spent your life and how school worked, and he suggests that you should teach him and the people of Ishigami Village how to write.
  • He's the one who gives you an introduction to everyone in the village, letting you know who's easy to get along with and who are the people you want to keep your guard up around.
  • This includes warning you about not pissing off Kohaku, much to her annoyance.

─────────

Gen

  • His immediate thought when you join the science kingdom is that you're a new person to keep track of... how errible-tay for the poor mentalist.
  • Gen can tell pretty easily how nervous you are being a new member of the science kingdom before you even say a word, so he makes use of his sweet talking to get you to loosen up around everyone.
  • If you already knew of his name before the petrification, he'll ask you what you thought of him. Say anything bad and he'll just agree and claim that he was only doing for the money. Give him the slightest bit of praise, though, and he'll try to teach you some "top secret stuff" he hadn't covered in his books yet.
  • If you didn't know him at all before the petrification, he'll grasp at every straw possible to prove he was a world wide sensation. "Have you never see me in that one late night show..?"  "My book is one of the top sellers for psychology! Are you sure you've never seen my cute face on there?"
  • He enjoys employing the tricks up his sleeve to prank you. All harmless fun, but you start to wonder why he takes so much of his time to go out of his way to mildly inconvenience you.  Perhaps that was his way of making a bond with you..?
