"The Truth" by High Reverend Father Ian Clevenger

Summary:

On April 21st, 2041, High Reverend Father Ian Clevenger of New Nazareth, made a speech to believers in Times Square before unleashing a deadly virus on the packed sqaure. He read passages from his book, "The Truth", and commanded his followers to wipe the heretics from the face of the Earth in the name of the Lord.

Notes:

so i used the quotes from the beginning of chapters for some of the paragraphs and then filled in the gaps in between to make it all sound like a coherent speech.
technically "the truth" is different to the speech that he makes in times square, but the "he regrets his creations" quote so i decided to combine them to make it cooler.
also, siince there's no year stated in the book, i guessed 2041, since that's a few years after the "america, come deal with the monsters you've made" climate speech in 2038 which is, as far as i can tell, the latest date mentioned in the book.

April 21st, 2041 - High Reverend Father Ian Clevenger's speech before unleashing the Flood virus on Times Square.

Dear believers; this is the truth of our world. For too long, humanity has been allowed to recklessly spoil the LORD's creation.

The Earth has been ecologically devastated, we must ration our water, and global temperatures have never been this high - all as a result of the nonbelievers, heathens, and heretics, exploiting His creations for their own gain.

We are reminded of the story of Noah and the flood that purged the sinners from a world remade perfect - and now we must bring about a new Flood.

Our LORD's message is clear: mankind has disappointed Him once again. We have been tempted beyond salvation and have become a plague upon His earth. our redemption, our eternal life, lies only in this: an eye for an eye, a plague for a plague.

And thus the LORD spoke to us- for again we have failed Him, again He regrets His creations, so again the Eath must flood! And we have done His holy work, amen!

The Flood will remake our world the way that the LORD demands, leaving no one but his true believers and Angels left to make the world perfect.

But remember, drastic times call for drastic measures - the Flood will eliminate as mant heretics as possible, but those that remain must be destroyed; Angels, it is your sacred duty to wipe them from the face of the Earth like a tidal wave of holy fire.

At the core of evey believer is a warrior ready for battle. Every day, you engage in spiritual warfare against evil through prayer. But the LORD tells us: warfare in our hearts is not enough. Angels, wash the streets red with blood.

Violence that begets evil will always be worse than the violence that ends it. The LORD will guide our hands. We will drive a wedge between the faithless through blood, and they will understand the evil they came from. They will understand the truth of salvation and come to us in repentance.

Do not be afraid. Have faith. what is right will be done.
