“This moment is perfect,” Four said as he looked up at the sky, smiling slightly. He looked down at his green-haired friend, the moonlight perfectly hitting their face. Four shifted and laid down on the grass below the pair, a content sigh escaping his lips; he didn't think anything could ruin this. Two hummed in response and gazed at Four momentarily.
There were a few minutes of comfortable silence, the crickets occasionally chirping served as a filler. “Sometimes I wonder what we are in different universes,” Two mused, turning their full attention to Four. “We could be bloody numbers,” they chuckled lightly and shook their head. “Imagine that.” Four blurted out a question before thinking about what he was saying.
“Do you think there is a universe where we're a couple? Or at least in love with each other?” He perked his head up, staring at Two with a glimmer of hope in his eyes. Four couldn't ignore how much he wanted to be in this universe; he quickly looked away once he realized Two was staring back. “Ah, God, that sounded too forward... Shit,” Four mumbled under his breath.
Two's heart fluttered at the idea of Four and them dating, the thought made them feel warm and fuzzy. They scooted closer to Four and hesitantly placed their hand over his, looking up at him. “You're not being too forward, but there probably is. Out of the infinite universes that there is, anything is possible.” Two gently nudged Four with their shoulder, “why do you ask?”
“I think it might be this universe that I'm in love with you.” Four blurted out and avoided eye contact, pulling his hand away from Two's. This caused them to freeze momentarily, wondering if Four was toying with them.
Oh.
𝘖𝘩.
Two stared at Four, feeling dumbfounded. They stayed quiet for a moment before speaking up in a soft voice. “You're in 𝘭𝘰𝘷𝘦 with 𝘮𝘦?” Two asked, not wanting to believe Four's words. Once Four answered with a nod, they placed their hand on his cheek and pulled him in for a kiss. Four's eyes widened before he quickly kissed back.
The pair pulled away, looking at each other in love and confusion. “I think I'm in love with you too.”
