Work Text:
Fumio Kishida awoke from a nightmare. It was something about a huge earthquake and tsunami. He had a weird feeling he experienced this event before.
But Fumio knows this happened before. He's not crazy, he just doesn’t know when, why or how it happened.
"Come on Kishida, when did it happen?" Fumio asked himself, a little panicked. "Was it 2010? 2014? 2011? 2015?"
Fumio Kishida was thinking really hard about the year, trying to find the source of whatever he had dreamed about. His breathing was getting more rapid and shallow, and he was on the verge of tears. He shakily grabbed his phone and typed "earthquake and tsunami".
Why is this bothering you, Kishida?
Were you even there?
Did it even happen?
WHEN did it even happen?
The results of Fumio's search came quickly. It showed the 2011 Tohoku earthquake and tsunami.
WHY ARE YOU DOING THIS, KISHIDA?!
Fumio's breathing got faster. He went to images. His crying got stronger as he scrolled through them. This was it.
WHY AREN'T YOU REGRETTING THIS, FUMIO?!
He clicked on a picture. It looked exactly like the one in his dream his nightmare. It was on a news article titled "Japanese politicians speak about the 2011 Tohoku earthquake". One paragraph that stood out to Fumio was this.
55-year-old foreign minister Fumio Kishida said he was "deeply affected by the earthquake and tsunami". Kishida also said he "may be traumatized forever by it."
Fumio Kishida finished reading the sentence and a rush of anxiety and memories flooded his mind.
YOU SHOULDN'T HAVE DONE THAT.
Fumio began to hyperventilate. He put his phone down and burst into tears. He regretted every second of reading that.
NOW YOU KNOW WHEN IT HAPPENED, BUT DID YOU REALLY WANT TO KNOW?
Fumio tried to get these memories out of his mind. They were memories of destruction, floods and tsunamis.
YOU SHOULDN'T HAVE READ THAT.
Fumio was crying hard; his breathing was too rapid. HE THOUGHT HE WAS GOING TO DIE.
He laid back on his bed and tried to take a deep breath, but that only caused another fit of crying and hyperventilating.
