Chapter Text

BobbyBearhug and crafty corn were sitting on their couch together. Just cuddling together to spend time together. While CraftyCorn was letting one of her paintings dry.

“Hey rainbow?”

BobbyBearhug asked, lifting CraftyCorns chin up so she could see her.

“You think the other critters would want to go on a picnic? It’s a nice day out after all.”

CraftyCorn paused. Before shrugging. Leaning against BobbyBearhug. Snuggling even tighter against her.

“M-maybe… depending on who you ask… D-Dogday would definitely say yes… not sure about C-catnap though…”

BobbyBearhug chuckled. Pressing a kiss to CraftyCorns forehead. Making the unicorn blush a little bit.

“Well I can imagine if DogDay comes outside CatNap won’t be too far behind him rainbow.”

CraftyCorn Giggled at that. Remembering how inseparable the two of them were. It was really cute to see them together.

“Yeah… that’s fair enough. T-they really are made for each other aren’t they?”

BobbyBearhug smiled. Cuddling CraftyCorn even closer to her. Smiling as she saw her blush a slight bit more since at this point she was essentially being held.

“They really are rainbow. I believe that.”

CraftyCorn eventually got back to the topic of the picnic. Realizing that they should probably bring something. Just to be nice. And considering they didn’t really feel like baking at the moment. They just decided to make some strawberry lemonade.

As they were mixing it in the pitcher. CraftyCorn noticed that the color of the lemonade was almost identical to BobbyBearhugs fur color. Which isn’t surprising. But it was really close.

“Hey r-rosy? The lemonade a-almost matches your fur color”

BobbyBearhug took a moment to process that information before she realized it too. Smiling and chuckling to herself.

“Good find rainbow! I’m surprised you noticed that! You’ve always been good at identifying colors.”

CraftyCorn blushed a little at the comment before smiling. Hugging BobbyBearhug. Her tail swishing slightly behind her. Idly. Silently expressing her happiness with the comment.

“Thank you rosy… I don’t know where I-I learned to do it… I just picked it up one day… and found out I could do it…”

BobbyBearhug giggled. Pressing a kiss to CraftyCorns cheek and cupping her chin so she could look at her for a second. Before hugging her again.

“It’s fine rainbow. Sometimes you can just find out you are good at something. Whether you’re completely new to it or not.”

CraftyCorn smiled. Setting the Pitcher of strawberry lemonade aside. Before immediately going back to BobbyBearhugs side

“We should probably tell the other critters where to meet up… o-or do they already have a spot in mind..?”

BobbyBearhug paused for a second. Seemingly trying to remember where they were supposed to go to. Before she remembered

“They have a spot already set up rainbow, It’s out by a lake. It’s a really pretty spot, I can’t wait for you to see it!”

CraftyCorn smiled. Nodding in acknowledgment as she stretched out a little. Before setting the Strawberry lemonade in the fridge until they were ready to go.

“When d-do they want to have the picnic rosy..?”

BobbyBearhug paused. Before smiling and kissing CraftyCorn on the forehead. Wrapping an arm around her and letting it rest on her shoulder.

“I think me and DogDay agreed on tomorrow. So we’ll have sometime to rest. Besides. You look pretty tired.”

BobbyBearhug commented. Noticing how much CraftyCorn had been yawning and stretching. Before she had an idea of why she had been acting so tired

“Did you stay up late to finish a painting again?”

CraftyCorn immediately knew she was caught. She had stayed up the previous night to finish a sketch that she has been procrastinating and she was worried if she didn’t finish it she’d start procrastinating it again.

“Y-yeah…. Are you mad..?”

BobbyBearhug smiled. Sighing and shaking her head. Cupping CraftyCorns chin and making her look up from the floor.

“No. I just want to make sure you get your proper rest rainbow! It’s important that you aren’t tired all the time. But with that in mind. We’re going to take a nap.”

With that. BobbyBearhug picked CraftyCorn up. Carrying her bridal style to the couch. Essentially leaving no room for discussion on the matter.

Once they got to the couch. Craftycorn shifted a little to get comfortable. Eventually settling on a position that had her resting her head on BobbyBearhugs shoulder. Her body curled up neatly on her lap.

“Good night r-rosy….”

BobbyBearhug smiled. Kissing her on the forehead. One of her paws combing through CraftyCorns fur.

“Have a good nap rainbow.”

—THE NEXT DAY—

Once BobbyBearhug woke up. She knew she had woken up before CraftyCorn because she was still on her lap. So instead of trying to move and risk waking CraftyCorn up. She just sat there and watched her. Combing a hand through her fur with one of her paws.

Once CraftyCorn woke up though. Bobby still made no moves to get her up. Deciding to let her wake up at her own pace. After all the picnic wasn’t for another hour and they were pretty much already ready for it. So they had a bit of time to kill

“Good morning rainbow. How’d you sleep?”

CraftyCorn yawned. Stretching out slightly which of you asked BobbyBearhug was the most adorable thing she had seen in her entire life. Before CraftyCorn tiredly blinked a couple times before fully waking up.

“P-pretty good… it was nice having you here… I don’t know why but it just felt… better to sleep with you around.”

BobbyBearhug smiled at that. Kissing CraftyCorn on the chin. Continuing to softly comb through her fur with one of her paws.

“I’m honored to have made you sleep better” BobbyBearhug teased

CraftyCorn shot her a look. Essentially saying: don’t. You. Dare.

Once BobbyBearhug saw the look on CraftyCorn’s face. She raised her hands in mock surrender.

“I’m sorry. I won’t do it again… maybe.”

CraftyCorn sighed. Shoving her head into her hooves. Silently asking herself why BobbyBearhug was so difficult.

BobbyBearhug got out from underneath CraftyCorn. And walked over to the kitchen to grab the pitcher of strawberry lemonade they had made the day prior.

“We should probably start getting ready. Wouldn’t want to be let to the picnic would we rainbow?”

CraftyCorn got up. Stretching one more time before walking over to BobbyBearhug. Leaning against her while she still sort of felt numb from the position she had slept in.

“Y-yeah… we should.”

Once they both finished getting ready. They put the strawberry lemonade in a cooler to keep it cold since it was still pretty warm out. And headed off to join the other critters

Once they got to the picnic spot. Dogday, CatNap and Bubba Bubbaphant were all already there. Kickin chicken has gone to grab HoppyHopScotch and PickyPiggy was almost at the spot too.

CraftyCorn just took a moment to take in the scenery. Enjoying its beauty and how pretty nature could be if left alone. She definitely was going to come back here to draw a couple different drawings

Though, BobbyBearhug waving her paw in front of her face got her attention. Turns out while she was admiring the scenery she had completely zoned out. Which BobbyBearhug found hilarious.

Meanwhile. Catnap was resting his head on dogdays lap. His tail swishing softly as he purred softly. Due to DogDay playing with catnaps ears. Which he was not opposed to. Waving to crafty and Bobby when he saw them

Once all the critters showed up. They all (beside catnap who just laid sprawled on the grass because he wanted too.) set up the picnic stuff. They had Peanut Butter and Jelly sandwiches and the Strawberry lemonade CraftyCorn and BobbyBearhug had made.

“How’s your sandwich rainbow?” Bobby asked from beside her. Still having one arm holding onto her free hand. Which CraftyCorn found herself enjoying.

“I-it’s good… I h-haven’t had a Peanut Butter and jelly sandwich in a while…”

DogDay chuckled. His tail still wagging since catnap was still happily resting his head on DogDays lap.

“Well then it’s good you could have one again! I hope you like it!”

BobbyBearhug smiled. Taking a sip of her strawberry lemonade. Before taking another bite of her sandwich.

“You two did really good on the strawberry lemonade by the way.” Bubba Bubbaphant said. Pouring himself another glass of The lemonade. “Seriously I haven’t had one this good in a long time.”

BobbyBearhug and CraftyCorn both smiled. Happy that their friends were enjoying their drink. And that they seemed to have pretty much no complaints.

“Yeah. This is pretty good, you two killed it.” HoppyHopscotch said from beside BobbyBearhug. Giving the two of them a thumbs up.

CraftyCorn smiled. Looking at BobbyBearhug who was also smiling. Before looking back at the other critters

“Thanks g-guys…”

Once they all finished eating their food. They cleaned up the mess that they had made. Making sure to make it as pretty as possible. Before just sitting down next to the lake. Watching as the sun set in distance.

“This was really fun guys. Thanks for helping and coming.” BobbyBearhug said. Still having an arm around CraftyCorn.

The other critters made some form of acknowledgment. Before eventually as it started to get dark. They all went back home.

Back inside CraftyCorns house. BobbyBearhug made sure she actually fell asleep before walking away. Wanting to make sure that she didn’t stay up late again over an art piece. As much as she liked to see how happy CraftyCorn was when she finished them.

“Sweet dreams rainbow.” She said. Pressing a kiss to CraftyCorns forehead.
