Work Text:

The practice studio was a little quiet around this time, and the two senior members of Le Sserafim were keeping themselves occupied as they waited for the rest of the group to finish their activities for the day.

Sakura kept glancing up at Chaewon while she was crocheting, her glasses almost falling off every time she looked up. It took awhile for the other girl to notice what was happening. And when she did, Sakura quickly averted her eyes, focusing on the beanie she was trying to make.

Chaewon ignored it but after several glances, simmering curiosity tugged her. "Kkura-unnie, do I have something on my face?" She took out a tiny mirror from her bag and checked her reflection; her complexion was as flawless as ever, not a hair out of place.

"No," Sakura mumbled, her cheeks heating up. She continued crocheting, her fingers skillfully twisting and looping the thread. She could feel Chaewon's gaze on her hands, almost as if she could trace each movement, causing an unexpected thrill to run through her.

She peeked up at Chaewon again, only to meet their pretty leader’s eyes. Chaewon held her gaze this time, making Sakura's heart race a little faster.

"Ummm… Is there something you wanted to tell me?" Chaewon’s eyebrow arched a little.

Sakura paused, looking at the unfinished beanie and then looking up at Chaewon. As if trying to find the right words, she bit her lower lip. Chaewon found this endearingly attractive.

"I don’t think the right side of your face is prettier than your left."

"Huh?" Chaewon blinked, slightly puzzled. "What do you mean?"

Sakura took a deep breath, mustering her courage as she met Chaewon's gaze again. "I just mean... your right side isn't necessarily more beautiful than your left… You're perfect from every angle." She began crocheting again, leaving Chaewon stunned and speechless.

Now it was Chaewon’s turn to blush, and she could feel her neck warming as she tried to hide her growing smile, dropping her gaze back to the mirror. She kinda hated how Sakura could make her feel so flustered with just a few simple words. That drive-by compliment had hit her right in the heart, and she wasn't quite sure how to respond. She looked up again, her eyes meeting Sakura’s.

"Unnie… why do you say things like that?"

"Hmm?"

"You’re so mean!"

Chaewon got up from the couch and quickly made her way to the restroom. She wanted to hide her reaction from the older girl. The heat in her cheeks was just too much. She looked at herself in the mirror, a single thought dominating her mind — Sakura had called her perfect.

Back in the studio, Sakura was so confused. She didn’t know what had just happened. WTF?! Did I say something wrong? Is Chaewon really that dense?! She wasn’t sure if she should follow Chaewon but decided maybe it was better to go after her and apologize. They have a long practice later and she doesn’t want things to be awkward. Gathering her thoughts, she stood up and headed towards where Chaewon went.

Meanwhile, Chaewon was splashing cold water onto her face in an attempt to calm down. When she looked up at the mirror, she saw her unnie entering the restroom. Sakura's reflection looked unsettled, her brows furrowed with worry. Chaewon quickly dried herself and turned to face her.

"Kkura-unnie…"

"I’m sorry if I made you feel uncomfortable. I just…" Sakura took a few steps closer to bridge the gap between them. Somehow, she got a bit too close and she could feel Chaewon's quick intake of breath as she moved into her space. She paused, her voice trailing off, her eyes searching Chaewon's face.

When Chaewon bit her lower lip, Sakura felt the urge to bite it herself and almost instantly, she leaned forward to kiss her. All Chaewon could do was melt and allow herself to get lost in the sensation. She wrapped her arms around her unnie’s neck, pulling her closer as she sunk deeper into the kiss. This was new, thrilling, foreign but all too right.

"Hahahahaha! Eunchae! That didn’t happen!" Yunjin’s voice boomed out in the hallway, and Chaewon and Sakura pulled apart abruptly, their faces a matching shade of deep blush. Sakura took Chaewon’s hand and quickly led her in an empty stall, locking the door behind them.

Footsteps were getting closer, and they heard the voices of the other members echoing off the tiled walls. Sakura and Chaewon held their breaths, trying to muffle any noises that could give them away.

"Do you think Kkura-unnie and Chaewon-unnie are getting bored waiting for us?" Eunchae asked as she turned on the faucet and washed her hands. She checked her reflection in the mirror, carefully adjusting her hairstyle.

"Maybe Chaewon-unnie?" Kazuha said as she entered a stall. "For sure, Kkura-unnie is crocheting."

Sakura and Chaewon were pressed closely together in the confined space… Chaewon tried to be quiet but Sakura was so naughty, her hands snaking up under Chaewon's shirt and her lips finding the nape of her neck. Her glasses fogging up as Chaewon's body heat shot up.

"Is that right? Are you bored?” Sakura whispered against her ear, giving Chaewon tiny love bites as she continued her exploration.

"Oooh! Do you think I should ask Kkura-unnie for a crocheted…" Yunjin started.

Chaewon couldn’t help it. She stifled a moan, her hand flying to her mouth, trying to suppress the sound. But Sakura’s friskiness was too much. Her voice still escaped from her in a whimper, reverberating softly in the small space. Panic flashed in her eyes as she met Sakura's teasing gaze.

"Did you hear that?!" Yunjin asked, her voice suddenly sharp. The bathroom chatter stopped immediately.

"I did! I did!" Kazuha ran out of the stall, barely pulling up her joggers.

Eunchae’s eyes were wide as she turned off the faucet, her hands still dripping with water. "It came from that stall!" she said, pointing towards the one Sakura and Chaewon were hiding in. "Maybe this restroom is haunted!"

"Let’s go! Let’s go! I don’t wanna stay here!" Yunjin exclaimed, the color slowly draining from her face.

The three scrambled out of the restroom, their hurried footsteps and gasps of terror echoing off the tiles.

Sakura and Chaewon heard the door slam shut, then silence. They remained frozen in place for a few moments more before both giggled uncontrollably.

"I’m so sorry, Chaewonie," Sakura nuzzled her cheek to Chaewon's, her laughter shaking them both. "I didn't mean to scare them... I just... well..."

"Unnie..." Chaewon turned to face Sakura, "Why do you do this to me?"

"You’re really not that smart, huh?" Sakura teased.

"Do you wanna die?!" Chaewon pinched both of Sakura's cheeks, her own laughter bubbling up from within her.

"Hahahaha! I’m sorry, I’m sorry," Sakura hugged Chaewon tightly.

Chaewon could feel the butterflies fluttering in her chest. Is this how it feels to be in love? Maybe she’s really not that smart after all.
