Seek and Thoughts

Summary:

If she was only human, she would've cried tears hearing something such as that, just those little words that made her feel she needs to do something more.

Gears whirring and turning, from all that Gigi could hear, even if that's the only sound inside of Cece, it felt comfort even to sounds like that.

Work Text:

Old, Rusty, Withered. There's nothing more to say about a run-down Automaton, bites and blood all over its body, unsure of what she's been feeling on its own.

Creaky limbs, yet still functional. Click and clack just for her to rewind herself and live, a small promise she made that she can't bear to leave. Cecilia looks anywhere as she goes, holding onto one thing she deeply cares for.

Yet the one she holds most dearest, has turned into something she was supposed to protect from. She wondered if there's ever hope, a way to revert things like before. But all she can wind things back, is the way she needs to live on.

“Gigi, Can you stay and sit here real quick? I'll go forage for food.” The Automaton looks at Her.

Rotting, Unkept, Dirty and Undead. It stared to the automaton in front, ragged clothes, dribbles of blood going in and out of either some has dried off by her clothes at this point. She looks at Cecilia, eyes blinking slowly with no thoughts in mind as it was nothing but just a husk from a person the automaton has loved before.

Gigi let out a small noise before Cecilia left, its head was down. It felt like it wanted to crumple itself, it didn't want to feel alone. Not without her.

It felt unbearable in this moment as it looked down, the feeling of gnawing the insides of its mouth. The feeling of something heavy and wrong around, that felt something it couldn't describe. It shouldn't have feelings or thoughts about this, it was supposed to be a husk, there shouldn't be a consciousness of what was wrong or right.

But it still felt lonely. It trembles as it didn't want to feel this way.

And so Gigi left trying to find the Automaton herself.

Cecilia was finding every and found rotting bodies all over, Gigi might've eaten those but she would still think of something fresh instead. She could almost smell the things around her as the stench was worse than Gigi, but yet again she was used to this.

She couldn't find anything at the moment, either cans of food or bird eggs(?) anything that could be edible was not in sight. As much as she knows she can't really digest something, the feeling of eating was the only thing good enough for her.

As well as trying to make Gigi eat too, she looked around the area and finally found food, it was a can of tuna and a leftover clean water bottle. This was at least good enough.

…

It couldn't find her anywhere, it didn't know where she went. Desperately wanting to see her, it attempts to walk faster if it has the chance to ever find her that quickly.

At last it found her, picking up something, Gigi approached her quietly.

From behind Cecilia felt something weight onto her, heavy but light... Oh.

It was just Gigi, she kept rubbing her head to Cecilia's shoulder from behind, “Gigi.. didn't I tell you to stay?” She sighs as she couldn't move at the moment thinking that the zombie was comfortable.

Gigi just growled back but yet it wasn't like those ravaging ones, it was a sense of tone, something Cecilia couldn't figure. Deep down Gigi might know why, why it feels this way, the longing for the Automaton even if it was just a few minutes.

It's like purring at some point, from what Cecilia has to put up with Gigi, it felt nice yet this spot was terrible for such a moment like this, “I've found food” Cecilia tried talking about something, it didn't reply anything.

It clings its hand right onto Cecilia's arm, gripping hard but not too much for the Automaton to feel off or dented. It stayed quiet for a moment before Gigi trying to pull Cece back to where they are camping for now.

“Eh..? Gigi??” She was confused, why were she dragging her back, but she thought for herself that she at least had found food and stashed it.

By the time they were back Cecilia was baffled, with just Gigi staying and had her arms wrapped around to her waist to the log they were sitting on. Never has Cecilia seen her to act this way ever.

Does she have sentience to herself? Is it still her inside? She never acted this way since then so why now? So many questions inside her head, piling up.

“Rghm…Ce..rrrh..Cee..” Gigi tried to say something, her eyes widened by the time she heard that, she turned her head a bit to hers, Zombies don't do that.

“St..ay..mngrh..”

“…”

“I will.. I'm here, I'll find a cure for you to be back,, I promise.”

If she was only human, she would've cried tears hearing something such as that, just those little words that made her feel she needs to do something more.

Gears whirring and turning, from all that Gigi could hear, even if that's the only sound inside of Cece, it felt comfort even to sounds like that.

Slowly Cecilia placed her hands to her cold hands that's wrapped on her, yet that's the only thing that maybe would soothe Gigi a bit from that.

They stayed like this like it was internity, minutes, hours, Cecilia sees the sun setting down.

Hoards of Zombies were being heard nearby, she needed to hide. As she might be torn apart.

"Gigi, can we go to the tent instead?” A soft tone was used just for Gigi to listen, it worked miraculously as she went ahead.

Cecilia looked around at the area to make sure and followed right inside, just to see Gigi trying to reach out to her, it felt like her heart melted without even having one.

As for this time she faced Gigi instead to embrace it too, for how long and good it felt, she wanted to stay like this. Thinking that Gigi was really here herself.

Gigi rested her head, finding the thoughts that were mustering up, from all the time Cecilia has never left her.

She thinks to herself, something that's not going to be heard, for such a long time.

‘I'm happy to have you.’

…

Nothing came out as they were just there in each other's touch.
