Sunrise Serenade: A Day of Love and Romance

Summary:

“Good morning, Ge,” Yuan whispered, his voice low and teasing.

Qian shifted slightly, a soft sigh escaping his lips, but he didn't wake. Yuan's grin widened. He loved these quiet moments when he could observe Qian's relaxed face, free from the stresses of daily life. Deciding to take his teasing up a notch, Yuan leaned in even closer, his lips barely an inch from Qian's ear.

“Ge, wake up,” he murmured, his voice a mix of affection and mischief. “You’re missing all the fun.”

Qian groaned softly, half-aware of the words filtering into his sleepy mind. Yuan chuckled and placed a series of feather-light kisses along Qian’s jawline, moving slowly toward his lips. He paused just before reaching his destination, waiting for Qian to wake fully and respond.

Notes:

Hey guys, I'm back again with another YuanQian fic because why not? hehehe, I just recently came across a photo shared on Insta where Yuan and Qian are holding their niece which was also at the end of the last episode and I didn't see it somehow so this work is inspired from that photo. For those of you who are not sure about the photo then I am posting it up on my Instagram which is Coco__shines (Coco's BL World) so have a look at that first before you read this as it sets up the image that I am trying to put together. Anyways, enjoy~~!!!

Work Text:

The morning sun peeked through the curtains of Qian and Yuan's cozy bedroom, casting a golden glow over the room. Yuan stirred first, the warmth of the sunlight coaxing him out of his dreams. He blinked his eyes open and smiled, taking a moment to appreciate the serene sight of Qian, his Ge, lover and his entire universe, sleeping peacefully beside him.

Yuan couldn't resist the urge to be playful. An impish grin spread across his face as he watched Qian's chest rise and fall in a slow, steady rhythm. He leaned closer, his breath gently stirring the strands of hair that had fallen across Qian's forehead. Yuan's fingers danced lightly across Qian’s arm, tracing idle patterns on his skin.

Qian's eyelids fluttered, a small smile curving on his lips as he slowly opened his eyes. “Mmm, Yuan,” he mumbled, his voice thick with sleep. “What are you doing?”

Yuan laughed softly, the sound like music in the quiet room. “Just making sure you have a good morning,” he said, his tone teasing yet full of affection.

He leaned in, finally capturing Qian’s lips in a slow, lingering kiss that spoke of love and desire.

Qian responded sleepily but eagerly, his hand finding its way to the back of Yuan’s neck, pulling him closer. The kiss deepened, a gentle yet passionate exchange that left both of them breathless.

When they finally parted, Qian's eyes were bright with a mixture of amusement and affection.

“You’re impossible,” Qian said, his voice a mix of laughter and fondness. “But I love you for it.”

“Good,” Yuan replied, planting a quick, mischievous kiss on the tip of Qian’s nose. “Because I’m not planning on stopping anytime soon.”

They lay there for a while, wrapped in each other's arms, enjoying the warmth and closeness of the moment. The morning sunlight continued to stream in, casting a gentle glow over the room and filling it with a sense of peace and contentment.

Their tranquility was interrupted by the soft chime of Qian’s phone. He groaned, reluctantly pulling away from Yuan to reach for the device. Blinking away the remnants of sleep, he read the message that had just arrived.

It was from Wei Lili, Qian’s sister. The message read, "Hey Ge, I need a huge favor—I'm going to drop by your house in an hour. I need you to look after my baby for a bit. It's urgent. Thanks!"

Yawning, Qian nudged Yuan gently. "Yuan, we have to get up. Lili's dropping by with her baby soon. She needs us to take care of her for a while."

Yuan sat up, rubbing his eyes and looking at Qian with a playful smirk. “More company, huh? Well, let’s get ready. We can handle this, can’t we?”

Qian laughed softly, nodding. “Of course we can. We’ve faced bigger challenges than babysitting.”

With a playful slap on Qian's rear, Yuan hopped out of bed, a mischievous twinkle in his eyes. “Let’s make this morning unforgettable.”

Together, they started their day, sharing laughter and stolen kisses as they prepared for the unexpected but welcome visit. An hour later, just as Lili had promised, she arrived at their doorstep, her baby boy cradled in her arms. She looked frazzled but relieved to see her brother and Yuan. "Thank you so much for this," she said, passing the baby over to Qian. "I have an emergency at work and didn't know who else to call."

"Don't worry, Lili. We've got this," Qian reassured her with a smile.

After a few quick instructions and a promise to be back soon, Lili hurried off, leaving Qian and Yuan alone with the baby. At first, the baby fussed and squirmed, but Qian’s gentle rocking soon soothed her. Yuan, who was less experienced with babies, watched in awe as Qian effortlessly calmed his niece.

They spent the next few hours tending to the baby, taking turns playing with him and feeding him. Yuan's normally stern demeanor softened as he marveled at the tiny human in their care, while Qian's nurturing side shone through, his love and patience evident in every interaction.

But soon, Yuan’s phone buzzed, reminding him of an impending online meeting. He sighed, clearly reluctant to leave, but Qian gave him an encouraging nod. "Go ahead, Yuan. I'll be fine with the baby. You’ve got an important meeting."

With a reluctant glance back, Yuan retreated to his home office, where he joined his meeting. The voices droned on, but Yuan's mind kept wandering back to the living room, where he imagined Qian and the baby together. Finally, after what seemed like an eternity, the meeting ended, and Yuan hurried downstairs.

As he entered the living room, the sight that greeted him melted his heart. Qian was nestled on the couch, fast asleep, with the baby resting peacefully in his arms. The room was bathed in a soft, golden light, and there was an undeniable warmth that filled the space, radiating from the serene tableau before him.

Yuan approached quietly, not wanting to disturb the tranquil scene. He stood for a moment, watching the gentle rise and fall of the baby’s chest, perfectly in sync with Qian's breathing. It was a picture of pure, unadulterated love and tenderness, a glimpse into the family they might one day have together.

Unable to resist, Yuan leaned down and planted a soft kiss on Qian’s forehead, careful not to wake either of them. He sat down beside them, a deep sense of contentment washing over him. The quiet hum of their home and the peaceful sight of Qian and the baby wrapped in each other's warmth created a moment of clarity for Yuan.

“Ge,” Yuan whispered softly, brushing a stray lock of hair from Qian’s forehead. “Have you ever thought about starting our own family? Adopting a child, maybe?”

Qian’s eyes fluttered open, a mix of surprise and affection reflected in them. “Yuan, you know our work schedules are insane. I’m worried we wouldn’t have the time to give a child the attention they need.”

Yuan smiled gently, his gaze unwavering. “I understand, but I don’t want our busy lives to hold us back from something we might deeply desire. If the time ever feels right, I want us to make that decision together.”

Qian looked down at the sleeping baby in his arms, his heart swelling with both love and uncertainty. “I just want to make sure we’re ready, that we can provide a stable and loving home.”

Yuan took Qian’s hand in his, squeezing it reassuringly. “Promise me, if you ever feel that desire, you’ll tell me. We can adopt a child together and start our own family. We’ll figure out the rest as we go.”

Qian's eyes softened, and he nodded, a small smile curving his lips. “I promise, Yuan. When the time is right, we’ll know.”

The room fell silent again, filled with the gentle breath of their niece and the weight of their hopeful thoughts. As they gazed down at the baby in Qian’s arms, a sense of hope and anticipation for a brighter, happier future settled around them. Hand in hand, they looked forward to the possibilities that lay ahead, confident that together, they could face whatever came their way.
