Find Pride In Us

Summary:

"Ahh, I'm so nervous..." Deku mumbled as they set up their little stand, a little bottle of carbonated water next to his bucket of pens.

"Y'don't have to be nervous, nerd. We're the number one heroes, for fucks sake. I'm sure people will be shitting their pants at the thought of getting an autograph and a fucking hug," Katsuki huffed, squishing Deku's scrunched face between his big hands.

Deku looked so fucking adorable and dumb like this, staring up at him with those big jade eyes and a dumb, smooshed smile. "We'll be fine, alright? We're the goddamn Wonder Duo; we can beat fuckin' anything together," Katsuki grumbled, watching as a healthy blush spread around Deku's squishy freckled cheeks.

Notes:

This is my fic for Pride! A BKDKBK Pride zine! A wee bit late, lol, and I totally could have posted this during pride month, but I am nothing if not bad with my timing... kek.

This fic is actually inspired by my own parents! They were going to a pride parade to give out free mom & dad hugs! love them, hehe.

I hope you enjoyed this fic! Please note this fic contains the mentions of unsupportive parents & homophobia from the original character's parents. Please don't feel pressured to continue--your happiness is more to me than a couple views and some kudos, and if that's something that may trigger you, please hop off and find smth else to read for ur mental health. i know that sounds cheesy, but yeah

this is like 99% fluff tho, dw!

happy reading!

(See the end of the work for more notes.)

Work Text:

The crowds of Musutafu Japan were crowded with people bustling around the streets, visiting little shops and stands set up around the parade grounds. The sun in the sky in early summer was warm and lovely, sitting high in the clear, cloudless blue sky. The air had a gentle sway to it, sweeping through rows and rows of food vendors, pulling the aromatic smoke into the streets. The atmosphere was pleasant, amazing even.

"Deku! If you don't get those fucking boots on your goddamn feet right now, I'm going to drag you out barefoot!" Bakugou Katsuki, Number Two hero Dynamight, seethed as he glared at his partner - the second half of the wonder duo - Midoriya Izuku.  Deku whined and huffed, jumping on one sneaker-clad foot and shoving his socked foot into the tightly fitting sneaker.

Deku looked, well, stupid, but that was the most endearing part of the nerd that Katsuki liked. He huffed as he watched the small hero hop around on one foot, looking absolutely stupid as he fought with a shoe.

Deku has faced villains with god-like powers and won, but a big dumb red sneaker is what he cannot defeat? What a nerd.

"Okay, there!" Deku huffed, releasing his foot and setting it down, pressing his fists to his hips as if proud of finally winning the battle against a shoe of all things. Katsuki shook his head as Deku trotted up to him, beaming a pretty smile at the big burly blond, who rolled sharp carmine eyes in hopeless exasperation.

"Here, tie this around your neck," Katsuki huffed and handed the smaller hero a large pansexual flag, helping the fumbling green-haired hero to tie it around his neck. "Pinky'll give us the chalk flags on our way out, so we don't gotta worry about that," Katsuki huffed as Deku stared up at him with those big, dumb, expressive eyes that twinkled with shoujo sparkle effects.

God, his boyfriend was stupidly cute

"Alright, Kacchan!" Deku smiled that blinding smile at him once more, and Katsuki contemplated pulling the sunglasses nestled in his hair over his eyes to protect himself from the sunshine incarnate that was his boyfriend. "Let's go?" Deku held his hand, clad in his air force gloves, out as Katsuki gratefully wove their hands together, squeezing the smaller man's hand in his bigger one.

"Stop being gay and get over here! We're all going to be late, lovebirds!" Pinky shouted, poking her head through the glass door. Katsuki growled at her, glowering through thick blond lashes as Deku squeaked beside him, flaring a pretty shade of red as the nerd stuttered and stumbled over half-assed apologies.

"Shut the fuck up, pinky! We're fuckin' coming, you impatient bitch!" Katsuki huffed, no bite behind his words, laced with the embarrassment he felt at being called out by Mina.

Listen, he was definitely staring at his boyfriend in a less-than-straight way, but it was his goddamn privilege, okay?

-

"Bend down, you tall bitch," Pinky huffed as Deku looked at the yellow, blue, and pink chalk smearing on his freckled cheeks.

Katsuki grunted as he leaned down, towering over the small but powerful acid hero.

Pinky hummed and grinned at him, a gentle twinkle in her sharp, stunning amber eyes. "There," Pinky pulled away, her pink fingers painted in both the colors of the rainbow and black, grey and purple. "Perfect, now, off you two go! I'm still waiting for Denki and Shinsou to stop making out in the alley," Pinky joked, and Katsuki rumbled a chuckle, sending her a quick thumbs up as he turned toward his boyfriend, who did the same.

Their eyes held in a gentle gaze as they locked hands, weaving their fingers together in a gentle hold. Deku's hands had always been and will always be so tiny in his hands, and Katsuki wouldn't have it any other way. Deku was bite-sized - packed to the brim with muscles that could crush buildings with a single quirk-infused kick - and Katsuki loved parading around the fact, with Deku usually bundled up in his arms.

"Ahh, I'm so excited!" Deku hummed and bounced on his armored boots, smiling at the two of them. Those beautiful eyes tracked over to him, glittering green and pretty gold sparkling in the sun with a warm, gentle stare.

Maybe those shades were a good idea.

"Thank you, Mina! Stay safe out there! Oh, tell Shinsou-kun and Kaminari-kun I said hi, too!" Deku called out, and Pinky giggled, sticking her tongue out as she winked.

"Of course! Stay safe, you two!"

Deku waved to Pinky, who did the same, sending them a wink and a thumbs up as they turned away and walked off, the flags cinched around their necks fluttered gently in the soft, warm breeze.

-

The pride parade situation in Musutafu was crowded as hell. People dashed in the different colors representing their sexuality crowded in the streets and around the food stands (which smelled amazing in Katsuki's opinion). It was like a cluster-fuck of rainbows, and Katsuki was sure if he stared at it long enough, his eyes would start to hurt, and he'd be seeing a rainbow every second he closed his eyes.

Sunspots? No. Gayspots.

He and Deku squeezed through and worked their way through the large crowd, occasionally parting it to take photos with fans before heading on their way. Everyone they had met was respectful and kind, happily posing with either him or Deku for a quick photo before they were on their way once more.

The streets were hard as fuck to maneuver, but thankfully Katsuki was tall enough - a whopping six-foot-eight as well as the inch-and-a-half his boots gave him - to traverse the crowds without being trampled. Well, he didn't think his big ass was going to be trampled anytime soon, as he was pretty sure he was the tallest person in the crowds. However, he did contemplate picking his boyfriend up to keep the small five-foot-five man from being trampled.

He was pretty sure he'd get Detroit smashed if he did, and he didn't exactly want to face his boyfriend's wrath.

"Midoriya! Bakugou, hey!" After managing the squeeze out onto the sidewalk, the two turned their heads toward the call of their names, finding Shitty Hair prancing down the sidewalk toward them, smiling with that big shark grin Katsuki had become accustomed to.

Kirishima’s fucking mane of hair cascaded down his broad shoulders, running over the giant dumb gears on his shoulders he had kept all these years. He and Deku walked toward Rocks-for-brain , who gazed at them with soft eyes and a stupid-ass grin.

"I was wondering when you two would get here! Your station is just a little further up, by the way! Hatsume also made you two the signs you asked for!" Shitty Hair said, throwing the two of them a big thumbs up. "Iida and Uraraka have taken post further up, closer to Hatsume's station. There's also food and drinks under the table at your station, so you're all set!" Kirishima informed them, giving them another sharky smile and a big thumbs up like the goddamn dork he is.

"Yeah, yeah, thanks, Shitty Hair ," Katsuki clapped the redhead on the shoulder before pulling Deku forward, listening to Deku ramble about whatever was on his mind.

-

"Ahh, I'm so nervous..." Deku mumbled as they set up their little stand, a little bottle of carbonated water next to his bucket of pens.

"Y'don't have to be nervous, nerd. We're the number one heroes, for fucks sake. I'm sure people will be shitting their pants at the thought of getting an autograph and a fucking hug ," Katsuki huffed, squishing Deku's scrunched face between his big hands. Deku looked so fucking adorable and dumb like this, staring up at him with those big jade eyes and a dumb, smooshed smile. "We'll be fine, alright? We're the goddamn Wonder Duo ; we can beat fuckin' anything together," Katsuki grumbled, watching as a healthy blush spread around Deku's squishy freckled cheeks.

He looked like a goddamn strawberry. An adorable, dumb strawberry.

"O-Okeh..." Deku mumbled, sounding downright cute.

Katsuki rolled his eyes and pecked Deku's nose, patting his cheeks before allowing the nerd freedom from his hands. "You alright now?" Katsuki huffed, staring at Deku as the nerd fiddled with the hand-written sign settled on the shaded table at their station.

"Y-Yeah, yeah I am," Deku looked up at him with those big, wide eyes, a glimmer of that same determination Katsuki had seen bloom through Deku all those years ago shining through. "Let's do this! Plus Ultra! " Deku pushed his fist upward, and Katsuki barked a chuckle, throwing his fist up before bumping it against Deku's, grinning at the smaller hero.

"Yeah, plus fucking ultra," Katsuki smirked down at the man, the edges of said smirk softening at the edges as Deku smiled at the growing crowd surrounding their booth.

Deku glowed like a shining star, and Katsuki wanted to wish upon his presence.

-

"Hero Deku, Hero Deku!" The crowd screamed, and Izuku giggled nervously, shuffling on his feet behind the safety of the booth table. There were so many people in front of their booth, decked in a mirage of colors ranging from reds to greys. Everyone was clumped together, fanning notebooks, pieces of paper, and other things around in the air as they fangirled… fanguyed? about him being at the Pride Parade.

He was sure there were also people there for Kacchan, but the cries of his hero name likely drowned them out.

"U-Uhm! Please be sure not to crush anyone... I have enough hugs and pens for everyone!" Izuku smiled and watched as their screeches only doubled in volume.

"You're just feeding them at this point, nerd," Kacchan's rough, warm voice echoed right next to his ear, startling him as he whipped around to stare at his boyfriend, who pecked him on the cheek.

The silent thought of ‘Let me handle them’ bled through Kacchan’s actions clear as day. Izuku raised an eyebrow, communicating to the blond without saying a word.

"Listen... Shut the fuck up," Izuku giggled in amusement as Kacchan walked forward, holding the big signs in his big hand and ducking out of the large tent to shoo the crowd back. "Alright, you heathens. Back the fuck up and wait for your goddamn turn," Kacchan huffed, shooing them back with a single hand.

The crowd did as the blond said, making room for the big hero to walk out and set up the outside part of their booth. Izuku watched the blond stomp around as people skirted around the huffing and grumbling pro hero, making him giggle.

As much as he adored seeing so many fans in one place, Izuku had no skill for calming people down, becoming dizzy at the volume of fans. As he downed the rest of his frizzly soda, which had started to go flat, he watched his boyfriend control the crowd with ease.

Kacchan was far better at crowd control than Izuku because the blond wasn't afraid to get loud, bare his teeth, or set off mini explosions in his palms. He was assertive, and Izuku was more laid back and timid and didn't have the best loud voice when needed.

"Alright, you fuckers!" Kacchan bellowed, shaking the signs till they popped out and were able to stand on their own, slamming them down with that signature dangerous grin, carmine eyes glinting in the bright sun. Kacchan looked both utterly demonic and beautiful at the same time, haloed by the sharp sunlight bearing down on the streets of Tokyo, making the dull paint on Kacchan's cheeks glimmer. "Come get your mother-fucking hugs," Katsuki cackled, and Izuku giggled at how his boyfriend said something so kind in such a threatening way.

Well, he doesn't expect anything else from Kacchan, honestly. Kacchan was naturally loud and abrasive, so even something that was meant to be said kindly sounded dangerous from the blond. Even though it sounded mean, everyone could tell Kacchan was sincere and was trying to be kind and not aggressive.

-

"I'm proud of you for holding on, even through everything," Izuku whispered, a gentle smile on his face as a fan sobbed into his shoulder, holding him as tight as he did to her. Her nails dug into his back, but Izuku didn't mind it, feeling the waves of pain radiating off her with each sob.

She was a kind lady - soft-spoken and gentle with her words. She had confided in him that her parents had kicked her out at the ripe age of seventeen for coming out as a lesbian, and she had been all alone since then.

She's now twenty-seven.

"You've done so well! Keep going on for me, alright?"

Izuku pulled away to gently wipe her tears gently, righting her glasses as he petted her soft brown hair. "O-Okay!" She sniffled, giving him a shaky but strong smile.

"That's it! We just have to continue to go plus ultra throughout life! Even if things get rough, just remember I will always support you!" Izuku raised his hand to bump it against hers, getting a wet laugh from her.

"Plus ultra... yeah," With that, she pulled away gently, smiling at him as she wiped her tears. "T-Thank you, uh, Deku-san... You've given me the courage to finally confess to the girl I've loved for the past three years... Plus ultra, right?"

Izuku gave her a wide smile as warmth bloomed in his heart.

Then, she was gone. Hidden by the growing crowd, the way she walked away made Izuku smile. Instead of the hunched, shoulders-to-ears walk she did, she walked with her head high and a big smile on her tear-stained face.

Izuku smiled gently as he watched her go, his soul feeling weightless. His eyes snuck over to his partner - both in hero and life aspects - holding a tall, slim man close, huffing and grumbling soft words. Izuku couldn't help the way his heart lurched in his chest; being able to gaze at his partner, being so gentle and soft, made him feel many things.

Love. Adoration. Pride. Happiness.

So many emotions pooled into his blood, lighting his body in gentle, warm flames. Seeing Kacchan this way - so gentle, soft, and kind - made him feel like warm chocolate sandwiching a marshmallow.

He felt gooey and warm, fire-warmed to perfection. Kacchan looked so perfect like this, those big bulky shoulders and heavy arms wrapped around a fan, bathed in golden sunlight. Kacchan glowed like the sun, burning bright and glowing with unending pride and burning with blinding flames.

In Izuku's eyes, Kacchan was the sun to his moon.

"Deku...san?" A voice, small and weak, jolted him out of his thoughts as he shook his head, batting away the inner monologue of how beautiful and bright Kacchan was.

He fixed his eyes on a small girl in front of him, looking no older than fourteen. She looked nervous as a mouse cornered by a cat, shuffling on her feet and staring down at her big, clunky red shoes.

Oh.

Oh.

"Hi! So sorry, I got a bit caught up in my own thoughts," Izuku giggled, rubbing the back of his head. He thinks that's the nicest way of saying he got caught up staring at his hunk of a boyfriend looking all soft and handsome.

"I-It's alright! Do-Don't worry!" She squeaked, waving her hands around, making Izuku's smile soften. "C-Can I get a hug and a photo?" She asked gently, looking up at him with big, hopeful eyes that Izuku felt deep in his soul.

"Of course, c'mere," Izuku smiled, allowing her to collapse into his arms, gripping the back of his hero suit tightly, making Izuku's heart quiver in his chest.

"I... I wanna thank you, actually, Deku-san..."

Izuku hums gently, smiling softly as she pulls back just enough to face her.

Her smile is big and cheery, and Izuku cannot help but mirror it. "You... I've looked up to you since you were in your U.A. days! You gave me the courage to be the best I could be," She said, smiling up at him. "A-And... you gave me the courage to come out to my parents as pansexual... I was terrified, but I just asked myself, 'What would Hero Deku do?' and I... I did it!" She confesses gently, making Izuku try and hold back the urge to hug her tight and hold her.

What would Hero Deku do?

God, that makes his heart soar.

"And they... they supported me. I don't think I would have ever done this without you, Hero Deku, so thank you! You've given me the courage I've never had, and I'm grateful to meet you here in real life! Plus ultra, right?" She giggled, and Izuku matched it, grinning.

"Darn right, plus ultra!" He called out, knocking their fists together before she pulled away.

"Before I go, can I get an autograph?" She asked, pulling a small notebook out of her back pocket. Izuku happily nodded and signed the notebook, handing her the pen back. She moved away for a moment before stalling, flicking over toward Kacchan. "D-Do you, uhm... think I could get Dynamight's signature too?" She asked gently, and Izuku flickered his eyes over toward the blond, who was finishing off signing someone's pride flag with his explosive and loud signature.

"Of course! I'm sure he wouldn't mind. Between you and me, he's a big softie," Izuku mock-whispered, grinning gently as she giggled loudly.

As if summoned by the knowledge his darkest secrets were being exchanged, Kacchan slowly turned around to face him with a scrutinizing gaze; those sharp carmine eyes narrowed at him.

Izuku only smiled as the blond stomped over, looming over Izuku like a giant titan, blocking out the sun. "Ehehe... Hi, Kacchan," Izuku said innocently, like he didn't just expose the blond for being a giant softie.

"Hi... Deku," Kacchan mumbled, flicking his gaze over toward the girl standing next to Deku. "Y'gossiping with fans, Deku?"

Izuku gasped, scanalized. "I would never! How low do you think of me?"

"Pretty low since you're only five feet from the ground," The blond snickered, and Izuku whacked the tall blond in the stomach, getting a raspy cackle from the man.

"Rude," Izuku grumbled, "and for your information, I'm five feet five inches, thank you very much," Izuku huffed, crossing his arms as the girl next to him giggled louder.

Meanies.

"Anyway, before my sweet little fan and I gossip about you being a big softie in private-"

" Oi!

"-she wants an autograph from you," Izuku giggled, stepping away just enough to allow the blond to step closer, grabbing the tiny notebook in his big hand. In Kacchan's hands, the notebook looked so tiny. Granted, the blond's hands were big enough to grip a basketball and around the size - even bigger at times - of a dinner plate; Izuku wasn't surprised the notebook was dwarfed in his big hands.

"There," Kacchan grunts after a moment of struggling to work the notebook into a good position to sign it, handing it back to the girl. "I gotta get back to my own group of hellions, but j'st know, I'm proud of you," Kacchan ruffles her hair gently, sending her a sharp but soft smirk as the teen hugs the notebook to her chest.

"T-Thank you, Dynamight!"

"Y'don't need to thank me, squirt," Kacchan gruffs, and Izuku spies the high parts of Kacchan's cheekbones turning a pretty shade of pale pink.

Izuku grins as he watches Kacchan stalk away, waving the girl off as she slips through the crowd, returning to who Izuku assumes are her parents from the way they welcome her into their arms. He also manages to peek at the shirt her father is wearing, cracking a smile at the text saying 'proud father to a proud daughter' with the pansexual colors acting as the color of the text on the white tee shirt background.

Izuku smiles as he's suddenly pulled into Kacchan's arms, wrapping his arms around the big blond. The familiar warmth that Kacchan carries spreads through his body, making his eyes glimmer with something soft and gentle as he leans on his boyfriend.

The big blond hums, carding a gloved hand through his curls, making Izuku preen under the attention his boyfriend gives him. His hands squeeze around the blond's tight, cinched waist, nuzzling into the soft fabric of his hero suit.

"We'll be taking a short break; go check out the other heroes up and down the street," Kacchan gruffs, ignoring the whines of the crowd and the constant calls of their hero names and other requests. "Shut the fuck up and shoo, you goddamn fiends," Kacchan grumbles and Izuku giggles at the more-than-fond tone his boyfriend tries to hide. Kacchan knocks his knuckles against his forehead in retaliation, glaring down at him through his mask. "C'mon, let's go to the shade," Kacchan grumbles and all but drags Izuku with him, making the smaller hero stumble along as he is still somewhat trapped in the blond's warm arms.

Izuku squeaks as he catches his foot against the back of his shoe, making him lose his footing until he's swept into Kacchan's arms. Izuku shrieks at the sudden turn of events, face blooming a harsh red as he stares up at the smug blond, beating against his chest with a huff and an embarrassed look on his face.

Jerk.

-

Izuku yawns as he leans against Kacchan's side, sipping his cool water as they laze in the shade.

Their earpieces have been blissfully silent, only updating them on fluctuating temperatures and crowds. Kacchan had been sent out twice in the past twenty minutes to help control the ever-fluctuating and growing crowd covering the Tokyo streets. During that time, Izuku took a few more people from the line to autograph merch, clothing, and other little knick-knacks people brought to him.

He also took the time to listen to some people's stories as they snuggled against his chest, whispering tentative secrets they had told nobody else into his ear or speaking about their grand stories of meeting their significant others or finding themselves.

He's found himself wiping fewer and fewer tears as people tell them their stories with pride, giant smiles on their faces no matter the struggles they had faced. Unsupportive friends, parents, and others have washed off their shoulders after finding the one they believed was it for them.

It made his heart swell, his soul blooming with happiness that people not only confided in him their secrets of anger, pain, and betrayal but also shared their stories with a sense of pride. He was proud of them - honestly, he was. Even though they considered each other strangers, Izuku still felt honored to be trusted with a little part of them. Gently holding that part of them that they had entrusted him with.

"'Zuku," Izuku hummed as he snapped out of his thoughts, glancing up and Kacchan, who set down his empty soda can. "How are you doing?" Kacchan muttered, wiping away a bead of water collecting on the side of his lip.

"Huh? What do you mean?" Izuku blinked, tilting his head up at Kacchan, unaware of what the blond meant. Kachan rolled his eyes, staring down at him with piercing carmine eyes.

"Idiot. I know you love your fans, but they can get overwhelming, especially with the whole heavy topic of today," Kacchan huffed, pinching his cheek, making Izuku squeak and pull away, eyes fluttering close as he rubbed his cheek.

"I-It's a lot, I won't admit," Izuku refused to make eye contact with Kacchan, rubbing his cheek absentmindedly even as the pain had long since faded. It kept his hands busy from picking at the seams of his gloves. "B-But! But, it's... nice. I'm really happy we've gotten this opportunity," Izuku braved a look up at Kacchan, smiling widely at the blond who stared at him with an unreadable expression.

After a moment, Kacchan's glove-clad hand cupped his entire face - that's how big Kacchan had gotten - and jiggled his head, making him giggle. "Such a dumbass, I swear—Jus'... you’re good to step away if you need a bit of a break, nerd. If anyone makes a fuss 'bout it, I'll kill 'em," Kacchan grumbled and flicked his nose, making him huff as he pouted up at the blond before it melted into a smile.

"Thank you, Kacchan. I'm so blessed to have you," Izuku hummed, cheeks flushing at the warmth and love dripping from his words.

Kacchan growled at him, but Izuku could see the red dusting the blond's ears as sharp carmine eyes rolled. "Yeah, yeah, love you too, you sappy little shit," Kacchan huffed and jostled his head as rough glove-clad hands ran through his curls.

"Ah! Kacchan, my hair!" Izuku squealed, trying to run away from the blond's hands, but he was pulled back and held down as he was noogied.

"Heh! Trying to run now, ya' goddamn nerd?!" Kacchan cackles, his smirk widening.

"Nooo! Kacchan! So mean!" Izuku cried, giggling as Kacchan snorted at his weak attempts to break away. They both knew Izuku could send Kacchan flying with even a percentage of his power but stayed in Kacchan's arms.

As much as he loved Kacchan's arms, he would be the last one to admit - even though it was very clear to anyone with eyes - that he did stay in Kacchan's arms as he was noogied.

-

"Ugh, 'zuku y'r heavy," Katsuki grumbled as he walked into their apartment, Izuku's limp body draped over his back. As small as Izuku was, his short-ass frame deceived how heavy he actually was. Izuku was like a goddamn brick house and weighed more than fucking Shitty hair, who was two inches shorter than him and was built like a literal unmoveable wall.

"NNnoo 'm not," Izuku whined as he yawned against his neck, making Katsuki cringe at the awful feeling. Katsuki yawned a moment after, grunting as he felt the flags Raccoon Eyes had painted on them crack on his cheeks, pulling at the fine hairs on his cheeks.

Ugh, as much as he wanted to flop into bed and pass out, he knew waking up with dried makeup on his cheeks would be even worse.

(He also wanted to stare at Izuku's freckles, which were half-covered up by the pansexual flags painted on the nerd's cheeks.)

"C'mon, let's go wipe this shit off," Kacchan mumbled as he carried Izuku's heavy-ass to their big bathroom, plopping the half-asleep hero down on their nice counter. Izuku mumbled nonsense as he swung his feet, eyes half-closed.

Katsuki didn't bother with working on shedding his hero costume as he got the makeup remover, handing Izuku his own soaked wipes. The two worked silently to wipe the colorful makeup off as Katsuki also wiped away the smokey eyeliner surrounding his eyes that the parts of his mask didn't cover.

Katsuki yawned as he threw the dirtied wipes away, helping Izuku with the places he didn't manage to catch, throwing away those wipes as well. Izuku looked adorable with red cheeks and sleepy jade eyes staring up at him through dark forest green lashes.

"Cute," Katsuki grinned as Izuku's cheeks flushed a darker red as he fell against his chest, allowing Katsuki to heave him up and plop him down on their big, warm bed. "Get changed, dork. I'll grab your compression sleeve and water," Katsuki hummed as he rid himself of the top of his hero suit, tossing it into the laundry basket next to the bathroom door.

Katsuki returned shirtless and wearing sweats he scrounged out of the clean clothes in the drying machine, carrying two bottles of water for the two of them and Izuku's compression sleeve. He spied Izuku kicking his feet absentmindedly as he did whatever on his phone.

"Here," Katsuki gruffed as he handed the green-haired hero the sleeve, watching Izuku slip it on the large maroon-colored scar. Katsuki hummed as he set the water bottles on his nightstand, tossing his phone down onto the charging pad as he collapsed into bed.

Izuku climbed in next to him a moment after as they lay in the dark silence of their bedroom. "Love you, Kacchan," Izuku yawned as tiny fingers traced nonsocial shapes in his side.

Katsuki hummed as he pulled Izuku close, settling on his side as he yawned loudly. "Mm... love you too, nerd," Katsuki mumbled, carding a warm hand up and down Izuku's spine, counting the little bumps of his vertebra. He could feel Izuku's breath slowly, even out after a minute of tracing up and down Izuku's knobbly spine.

Katsuki shifted, groaning as his body protested the movement, leaning down just enough to sweep away Izuku's bangs and land a soft, gentle kiss against his boyfriend's forehead. "Love you so, so much... You're just too damn cute for your own goddamn good," Katsuki grumbled, yawning as he smacked his lips.

"Goodnight, 'Zuku. Love you," Katsuki whispered into the silent atmosphere of their bedroom, eyes fluttering shut as he fell into the wonderous hands of sleep, dragging him into its comforting depths. Each rise and fall of his chest jostled the promise ring that laid on a simple gold chain, an ode to a promise Katsuki had made with Deku years ago when nothing mattered.

When it was just Katsuki and Izuku.

Kacchan and Izuku, the future Wonder Duo.

/ /"I'll make you my wife! We'll be the Wonder Duo and the best married couple ever!" Four-year-old Katsuki proposed, shoving a candy ring on lithe freckled fingers. Izuku wiggled his fingers as he stared at the ring, cheeks beet red.

"Yeah!"

"...also, why do I have to be the wife?"

"Because you're too cute! I'm too handsome to be a wife!" Katsuki huffed, watching Izuku's head tilt and nose scrunch at the compliment.

Heh. He just proved his point. Such a cute nerd.//
