Golden hour

Summary:

Hey! How are you? This is the first thing I wrote in my life, it came up a few months ago in the early hours of the morning after seeing a video on Tiktok of a guy playing Golden Hour on the piano and an ambulance passing behind. I hope you like it and don't mind the bad English, after all, it was written in Portuguese and translated by Google Translate lol

Work Text:

Suddenly, I felt myself floating, my body becoming light, like a cool spring breeze. The world began to slow down, and in the background there was a melody. At that moment I understood that I was leaving. That sweet melody that accompanied me in different moments of my life, that was the soundtrack in several scenarios in my theater plays, that witnessed the happiest laughter, the most sincere declaration of love, the most heartfelt crying... And it was to the sound from that melody I left, leaving all those stories and feelings, leaving a whole life of mistakes and successes, and leaving behind the great love of my life, Amália.

As I felt myself slipping away, I could hear Ama crying profusely next to me, holding my hands and saying her prayers to all the gods she knew. Poor Amalia. I never wanted to bring her such suffering; I always hid my pain and illnesses, struggles and disagreements with life. I did everything to appear strong and healthy for my loved one.

At some point, things got lost. Increasingly, sadness and pain were present in my days. There were no more dreams and joys in my being. The desires from before were no longer there. Amália and theater, the two priorities in my life, ended up falling into this endless limbo.

Looking at her, I could only think about how loved and happy I was by her side. I thought about all the good times we shared together on stage and in life, how happy we were despite all the difficulties. I thought about how I loved her and if one day she would be able to forgive me. And it was there, looking into those emerald eyes, and the sound of our music, that I let myself go.
