Deep in the Ten Miles Peach Orchard, two gods were walking side by side. One was carrying a platter of food and the other one a jug of wine and incense sticks. Beside them walked a little girl.
– Die die, Baba, where are we going? The little girl asked her two fathers.
– Jiuai, this is the 100th anniversary of your emergence. We are going to to show our respect, to one of the people who made it possible for you to exist, Bai Zhen said to his daughter.
– Cousin Fengjiu jie jie? Bai Jiuai asked.
– No, my sweet daughter, High God Zhe Yan, said.
– But did you not tell me she was the one who gave you my egg?
– She did, but we have someone else to be thankful to, Bai Zhen said.
– Dong Hua shu shu? She asked then.
– Not him either, Zhe Yan said.
– But, he was the one who had my egg, did he not? Jiuai asked.
– He did, but we have a third person we must honour for your existence, Bai Zhen said.
– Who? She asked.
– You will see, Zhe Yan said.
They continued walking in the orchard until they reached a cenotaph engraved with a phoenix.
Both gods knelt in front and after filling cups of wine and placing them with the platter of food and in front of it, they lit the incense sticks and planted them in the ground.
– We do not know her name, but she is the phoenix goddess who laid your egg and that Dong Hua found, Bai Zhen said.
– Jiuai, show your respect to she who is your mother-phoenix, Zhe Yan said.
Jiuai knelt beside her fathers and all three of them bowed to the ground.
– Feng mu, I am Jiuai. Qingqiu’s phoenix princess.
– Fenghuang Nushen, we promised to bring her to you on this day, Zhe Yan said.
– We and the Bai clan will be eternally grateful to you, Bai Zhen added.
They stayed there for a few moments, offering their thankfulness to the phoenix goddess who had not destroyed the empty egg found by Dong Hua Dijun and given to them by their niece Bai Fengjiu Dihou and that made it possible for them to have their amazing nine-tailed phoenix daughter.
– Come now daughter. You don’t want to miss the celebrations of your first century. All of Qingqiu has been looking forward to celebrating its phoenix princess, Bai Zhen said, standing.
– And even our family from Heaven Kingdom is attending, Zhe Yan added.
Jiuai stood between her fathers, holding their hands in hers, and High God Zhe Yan phased the three of them to the ceremonial field and all of the gathered gods and immortals cheered for Qingqiu’s little phoenix princess.
