Chapter Text

“We have gathered here today to not only mourn, but to celebrate the life of Bakugou…”
Katsuki purposely blocked out The Officiant's words. There was a buzzing in his ear as he became incredibly overwhelmed and fast. He got up out of his chair and left the venue silently, needing a breath of fresh air. He shut the door of the building behind him as he rounded the corner.

He had lost his beloved wife too soon. His children still needed her in their lives at such young ages and fuck, if he didn't as well. She had gifted him with the most beautiful children he could ever ask for in life. His oldest son, Katsuro, was a kind and patient soul, opposite to himself. He was almost 10 years old and had soft brown locks and brown eyes, similar colour to his father's. His second son, Aki, had just turned 6 and he was quite the mischievous one, as most middle children are. He shared the same hair colour as his alpha father but sported brown eyes like his brother. Lastly, was his baby girl, Rini, a 3 year old who had big red eyes and wild blond hair. She was very gentle in nature and has some bad separation anxiety. He loves all his children to bits.

He hadn't realised that he'd been standing outside for more than half an hour, the speech was almost over which meant that the lunch service would be starting soon. He didn't want to be here. He didn't want to spend his afternoon with people sitting in a stuffy room together for hours that only spared him glances of pity. But his mother insisted that he come and she promised to watch her grandpups. Katsuki didn't want to say goodbye to his love forever. He didn't want to come to terms with the fact that she was gone for good, and wouldn't be coming back.

His younger children did not understand why their mother had decided to leave them, but Katsurou knew the truth. The harsh reality of the situation. His kids took the news as best as they could that their mother would no longer be with them and they reacted exactly how he expected them too. Kutsurou, however, stuck with suppressing his emotions in front of others and opted to rather cry in the privacy of his bedroom instead. This was not what his pups or any other pups should have to deal with this early on in life. But he knew that the world was unpredictable like that.

Katsuki skipped the lunch service and drove himself home instead, as he was not in the mood to sit in a room of a bitter and depressing atmosphere. He had to remain at least the slightest bit positive for his kids, to act as a reassurance and comfort to them. But when he was in the quiet of his room, alone, that's when his emotions could no longer be suppressed, and they'd have to reach the surface for a breath of air. They finally arrived back at his Rustic mansion, receiving a text that his mother would drop his children off soon. He sighed as he fisted his jacket in frustration, getting out of the car and rushing inside towards his room. He was a complete mess right now and he didn't want his domestic workers to see him like this, including his pups… especially them.

He threw off his black blouse, followed by his shirt, pants and underwear as he stepped into his ensuite, grateful for the heated flooring providing warmth for the chilly winter air. He took a quick shower, to wash away his day and stresses and to instead slip into something of more comfort. It was already 4 pm, so it wasn't like he intended on leaving the house again anytime soon. The alpha scrubbed shampoo aggressively into his now flat hair then rinsed it off, watching the soapy suds swirl down the drain by his feet.

His fingers had started to wrinkle, so that was a clear sign that he should step out from beneath the water and break away from his deep thoughts. He threw on a pair of tracksuit pants accompanied by a long-sleeved top and turtleneck sweater. He walked out into the passage of his home as he awaited the arrival of his children. Katsurou and Aki would be starting up school again shortly, which meant that Katsuki had to make a plan and fast on how he would get them to school on time without rushing to his meetings. Without the extra help of his omega being able to drop them off.

He was loaded with money, that was for sure, so he could possibly pay someone to drop his children off at school each day of the week. Not only that, but he needed someone who could spend time his his children once they got back, or play with Rini whilst the boy's were at school, so he could still tend to his job and not fall behind.
A nanny. That's what he needed. He had a few moments to spare before the old hag dropped them off, so he used that time to throw open his laptop in his study and type in a quick search;
“Omega nannies near me”.

He hit enter, as he waited for the results to make themselves present. Luckily, his wifi has never let him down, so soon he was met with a long line of links to Nanny websites, just waiting to be opened. He clicked on the first link that showed up, as that was what people would normally do, and he was sent to a site where many profiles were listed. The profiles contained a headshot of the omega, their name, last name, age, hobbies etcetera, there was a lot going on. Katsuki mindlessly scrolled through the countless profiles until one specific one caught his eye.

A picture of a young male omega with vibrant red hair, spiked in many directions was listed not too long ago. Since he was the one who caught Katsuki's attention so fast, he just had to view more information about this omega.

His name was Eijirou Kirishima. He had apparently just graduated from a university of business, and was looking for a job as a nanny to do. This was due to him being unlucky with finding employment in the entrepreneurship field. His bio stated that he loved to look after pups and that it was his dream one day to have one or two of his own. He has babysat before many times and was good with kids of any age. Katsuki continued to read through his details before he was startled out of his bubble by his study's door bursting open and his brats running in to hug his legs.

“Daddy!” They all shouted in unison, as Katsuki greeted them back and picked up Rini, placing her on his lap.
“You're welcome, you brat. They were absolute angels!” His mother shouted from across the hallway.
“Oi! You were the one that wanted to look after them!” he snapped back as he heard the front doors shut.
“Daddy, how was the funnel?” his second youngest asked as he swung on one of the rolly chairs in his office.
“Funnel? Oh, you mean the funeral, Aki?” The alpha corrected as he got comfortable once again. His son nodded in response, pretending to ignore his correction.

“It was boring. You pups were lucky to spend the day with your Gramma.” He smiled lightly, happy to see all his pups in a good mood. Beside his son, who was awfully quiet yet again.
“Gammy gave us icekeem!” Rini announced, throwing her hands in the air. Katsuki sighed at his mother's actions, knowing the consequences of giving them sugar that will occur later this evening.
“Oh isn't that sweet of her.” He gritted out sarcastically as his pups just chuckled. He was glad that they still managed to hold smiles on their faces, even through these difficult times. Even if they weren't as genuine as before. Nothing made Katsuki's heart more full than his pup's happiness.

“Alright, you munchkins. I need to finish doing some important work. Go and bother the chef's about dinner instead.” he suggested, wanting to get back to his ‘research’.
“Awww okay…” Aki whined out as he grabbed his little sister's hand, who was lowered onto the floor by Katsuki.
“See you at dinner, Dad.” Katsuro waved goodbye as he led his younger siblings out of the alpha’s study and towards the kitchen. Leaving Katsuki alone once more.

He reopened his laptop and waited for it to load onto the site once again. He was intrigued by this omega nanny who seemed to hold potential. He felt that he'd be the perfect carer for his children during these tough times.
And so with the simple press of a button, he opened a chat with the man and began to type away. Once satisfied with his request, he hit ‘send’.
