Knuckles sat in silence against the Master Emerald. It'd been a while since he finished up chores on the island and it was time for a well deserved break, his muscles finally rested after the heavy workload of the day.
He was sure he was completly free now. He pondered if he should polish the M.E. He thought about other simple tasks to do before he heard a certain plane engine in the sky over him.
The echidna looked up only to see a blue blur failing from the familiar tornado. He smirked pulling himself up on his feet. He walked a few steps foward and timed just the right time when the mass would be at the right spot.
He stood on the shrine's edge before throwing himself foward, catching the spinning blue ball in his open arms. He stumbled slightly from the impact, but once he had it in his arms he glided gently towards the ground.
After a safe landing he patted the spiky ball twice. It shifted unfolding itself revealing a silly blue hedgehog. Knuckles accomodated the new form holding him up by hugging his hip, Sonic also supported himself by hugging the echidna's neck while smiling.
"Hi."
"Hello." The Guardian gave an him amused look, tilting one of his brows.
"You missed me?" Sonic started drawing circles with his finger on Knuckles' chest with playfull expression.
"What'd you think?" Knuckles rocked him slightly in his arms.
"You missed me so much you considered taking the whole island with you to come find me!" He gave a dramatic sad pose placing his free hand on his forehead while closing his eyes. "You thought of me every second i was gone, and looked up at the moon every night waiting for my return~" After finishing his over the top performance, he gave a smug smile while sneakily placing his open palm on his Knuckles' chest.
The echidna grinned, leaning forward to nuzzle his neck. "I did miss you."
"Awwww, you finally admit it." He giggled softly at the feeling of his nose tickling his neck before the guardian pulled away, their lips finally connecting in a soft kiss.
Sonic sighed going back to hugging his neck. He rubbed his cheek against him affectionately. "I loooove you."
Knuckles swayed him side to side, as he hugged his body closer. "You're certainly clingy today..."
"Aww." Sonic said in a playfull sad tone.
After a few beats of silence the guardian continued. "...i love you too."
"That's what i thought." He smile as both their tails wagged happily.

They laid on the shrine next to the Master Emerald enjoying some grapes Knuckles had picked up in the morning for a snack. It was mostly Sonic feeding the grapes to Knuckles. He thought he was a weirdo for enjoying seeing his boyfriend eat, but he knew they were both enjoying it so it didn't bother him much. He was so happy to make him smile after so long without seeing him.
The topic of his visit came into his head, he needed to make sure the echidna hadn't forgotten.
"Hey... Do you remember what i told you last time we meet?" Sonic placed a single grape against the other's lips.
Knuckles happily accepted the grape biting into it, Sonic could see a glint of big pointy teeth when he opened his mouth. The echidna swallowed and covered his mouth with his gloved hand before speaking up. "Yeah, you wanted to show me something, right?"
"Yeah..." The hedgehog's tone was far from his usual enthusiastic nature.
The guardian sat up and looked at him worriedly. "Is everything alright?"
"Yeah, it's just..." the hedgehog signed, he felt kinda nervous at the reveal of this... other part of him. "What i want to show you will have to wait until tonight."
"You're staying over then?" Knuckles tried to hide his excitement, sitting over his tail to prevent it from wagging. but his tone gave him away.
"If you're okay with it!" It was kind of amusing to see him so happy, he just hoped he wouldn't lose his happy mood after tonight's revelation.
"Of course!" He gave a soft smile.
"Neat... we'll have to wait until the moon rises then."
The view of the moon on Angel Island was amazing, Knuckles couldn't undertand why Sonic was never there to see it. It didn't really matter now since they'd be able to see it together, he was very excited to show it to him.

Sonic watched as the sun fell, It slowly hid behind mountains in the surface as a loomin symbol of his rapidly drecreasing time. After it'd been hidden complety by such mountains he decided it was the best time to speak up.
He nudged the most likely napping Knuckles awake. Who opened a single eye to look at him.
"Is it time already?"
"Not yet... but very very soon."
The hedgehog signed bracing himself. He fidgeted with the fabric of his gloves before speaking up. "I need to talk to you..."
Knuckles sat up and looked at him expectantly. "What's wrong?"
"Okay... Tonight you'll see a pretty... drastic change. I just need you to not freak out" He eyed nervously the progressively darkening sky.
"Um..." Knuckles couldn't help but think the way he was handling things wasn't helping him not freak out.
The hedgehog watched intensely as the moon began to rise up, now more aware than ever of how little time he had left. "You have to promise..."
"Alright okay, i promise not to freak out" The guardian shifted closer and gave the hedgehog a kiss on the cheek.
"Okay... i need you to stand back." Knuckles shifted away until he was at what he considered a safe distance, even though he wasn't too sure what he was doing it for.
Sonic looked up as the moon rose to it's highest point, he sighed knowing what was going to happen next.
"It's time... brace yourself!" Sonic couldn't tell if he was telling this to Knuckles or himself.
Sonic groaned, grinding his teeth together as he placed his head on the ground. He gripped at both sides of his head as he felt a pounding headache as strong power traveled all throughout his body.
"W-what's going on?" Was all the guardian could say as he watched the transformation start in less than a second.
Sonic struggled to lift his head up to look at his boyfriend "I-i'm okay-" He groaned digging his fingers in his quills while pulling on them. "...Just stay away."
Knuckles worriedly watched on as the other whined in pain, he could see lightening start to flicker through his whole body.
His worry turned into horror as he saw Sonic's body shake violently and start to change. His body grew larger and furrier. It also darkened, turning his fur into a deep ashy blue. His sharpening claws ripped his gloves apart as his hands came to hit the ground with a heavy thud, scratching the floor under him.
In a flash the transformation was done, finally letting Sonic's body relax. He sighed as he shakily went to stand up on his feet, inevitably standing to his full huge height.
"Phew... that's always a trip..."
Knuckles looked at the hero towering over him, wided eyed in complete shock. Sonic nervously shifted in place, slouching down doing his best to make his frame smaller. He smiled revealing two full rows of big sharp teeth.
The echidna slowly stood up and walked foward a few steps towards the former hedgehog.
"W-what..."
"It's a long story... i can tell it to you if you want!"
Sonic watched as Knuckles threw his whole body on him, he flinched and closed his eyes, maybe expecting a hit of some kind. Instead he felt the echidna's body press softly against his. He opened his eyes and looked down only to find the guardian with his face buried on his chest fur, while his arms tried to wrap around his large body.
Knuckles looked up at his boyfriend, with wide glittery eyes filled with excitement.
"How could you hide this from me?!" Knuckles' muzzle again buried itself on the fluffy surface of his chest.
"This is awesome..." It was muffled thanks to how close his face was squished against him.
"I didn't knew you'd like it so much."
"You kidding..." Knuckles pulled away and took two steps back to take a good look at his body. He gasped when he caught a glimpse of his much more bulky muscles.
Sonic noticed it and flexed his arm infront of him, showing off. "You like what you see?" He made sure to give him a flirty wink.
The guardian blushed, making his face fur almost turn the same color as his body. He gave him a playful punch before covering his reddening face with his arm for a moment.
"Alright, alright i need to see you." He walked a few more steps backwards until he was able to see him without having to break his neck to make eye contact.
Knuckles gave a wide happy grin showing his own pointy teeth. "You're... big..."
Sonic barked a laugh. "You could say that."
"Oh look at your quills, that's pretty." He walked behind him to get a better look and the lighter tips of his quills.
"Y-you think so??" It was Sonic's turn to blush deeply, he didn't expect for Knuckles to fuss over him so suddently. He didn't even notice when the guardian had walked closer to him and watched his hands intently.
"Can i?"
The werehog looked down at him, with a flustered smile. "Oh? Yeah! Sure you can..."
Knuckles took a hold of his hand and gently pulled it towards himself. He looked with admiration at his claws.
"They kinda look like mine... Just much bigger."
"That's true."
Knuckles perked up as he placed his hand below his. He felt little bumps through his gloves that peaked his curiosity.
"Hmm?" He turned his palm upwards to face him and gasped.
"You have paw pads?!" He brought his thumb up to squish them softly. "They're cute!"
"Okay, okay, you can stop..." Sonic's cheeks somehow kept getting warmer, his tail wagged idly behind him.
"What? No way, now that you're here you gotta let me see you." He looked up at his boyfriend with a mischevelous smile. "Come down here."
The hero obeyed sitting down on his knees to lower himself enough to be his level. The echidna grabbed the sides of his face, and placed a quick kiss on his forehead.
"Good boy."
His words flustered Sonic beyond words. He gritted his teeth and hid his face on the guardian's chest, embarrased but oddly happy, his tail wagged furiously. He hugged him with only his hands as they were enough to circle him completly.
"You like that?" Knuckles whispered on his ear while rubbing them softly.
"Shut up."
Oh sweet Gaia, he sure wasn't used to Knuckles being so much of a tease, he supposed this was his punishment for being one himself. He felt like he was about to die thanks to his heart beating so hard against his chest.
After his heart calmed down again he let himself be seen by the guardian. Who gladly went back to pushing his face around to see him from all angles.
"Give me a smile."
"What for?"
"I want to see your teeth." He could see them earlier when he smiled.
"What are you? A dentist?" He said this between gritted teeth as he complied with the request, showing his teeth.
Knuckles curiously glanced at them before fixing his gaze on his canines. "Oh wow, i wonder if they're as sharp as they look."
"Oh they are sharp, belive me."
"How sharp?" Knuckles squinted his eyes at him.
"You wanna find out?" The werehog gave him a devishly smile before softly pulling him closer with a single hand. Expecting for Knuckles to push him away just as before.
Instead the echidna leaned closer, and mirroed his own look. "Don't threaten me with a good time."
Sonic knew he had to stop setting himself up. He blushed and again, his face hid on his chest defeatedly.

They once again laid on the shrine's floor, Sonic laid on his back while Knuckles laid over him.
"You're the tiny one, for once."
"I am." The echidna smiled softly while laying his cheek against him.
"How'd you feel about that?" The werehog rested his head on one of his hands while the other laid over the guardian's back, he gave soft pats through it.
"Hmm... i like it..."
He buried himself further into his fur while making fur angels over him. "Especially since you're this fluffy. You're like a big heated comfy bed."
The hero chuckled. "You like me even if im a big ugly monster?"
"Well you're not exactly ugly... i would say you're even more handsome in this form."
"Hey!"
Sonic placed his huge hand over Knuckles' face, covering it completly, he closed his fingers over him and shook his head softly.
The guardian laughed as he gave a few hits to the hand closing in on his face before prying it away thanks to his own strong hands.
Knuckles gave him an amused look as he laid his head back down on his chest, in between the werehog's pecs.
"Kidding! course... but... i do like these." He gently hugged them. "I understand what you mean now... i won't stop you from touching mine."
Sonic perked up. "R-really?"
"Only at appropriate times!" The guardian lifted his index finger up as best as he coukd with his 'mitten'.
"You don't get to grope them infront of everyone you asshat." He gave a soft punch to his chest.
"Fineee..."
They both fell asleep a while after. Knuckles slept comfortably all throughout the night. While Sonic only slept comfortably before he transformed back to his normal form, as he woke up being crushed under Knuckles' weight.
