You’d imagined yourself in Tokyo multiple times, only you never thought it would be with these two, standing at the heart of Shibuya Crossing with two of your favorite people in the world. Yuu, ever the energetic whirlwind, was pulling you along, his excitement contagious. And then there was Asahi, his quiet strength a comforting anchor amidst the chaos.
Yuu had a secret, though. A secret that had been brewing in his heart for months. He wanted to propose, and he wanted to do it in the most unforgettable way possible. And so, he'd roped Asahi into his grand plan. You were all to go on a trip around Japan, hopefully with it being his last trip with you as his girlfriend since you’d become his fiancee by the end of it.
After navigating the bustling crowds of Shibuya, you found yourselves in the serene atmosphere of Senso-ji Temple. The incense-filled air and the gentle chimes seemed to soothe your soul.
You visited Nakamise-dori, indulging in delicious street food, and Akihabara, where Yuu, the self-proclaimed otaku king, was in his element.
In Hakone, you had a beautiful view overlooking Lake Ashi and Mount Fuji. The setting sun painted the sky in hues of pink and orange, mirroring the warmth in your heart. Asahi stood beside Yuu, a happy friend.
As you sailed across the lake, the gentle lapping of the water against the boat seemed to whisper words of love. Yuu, surprisingly contemplative, held your hands in his.
"Hey," he started, his voice soft. "Remember when we first met?" You smiled, the memory of the fiery libero challenging you on the court flooding back.
"I do," you replied, your heartwarming at the thought.
As you reminisced, Asahi discreetly slipped away, giving the two of you some semblance of privacy on the quaint boat. Yuu took a deep breath, his eyes filled with an intensity you'd never seen before.
"From that moment, I knew you were something special," he continued, his voice trembling slightly. "You're strong, funny, and you have this incredible spirit. You've brought so much joy into my life."
Your heart pounded in your chest. Could this be happening?
You saw in your peripheral Asahi’s face with a look of panic as another boat crashed into yours. Yuu falls into the water and as you feel the cold splash on your bottoms, you hear Asahi scream as he tries to reach Yuu’s flailing arms.
You finally take it upon yourself to dive into the water and push Yuu back to the boat. You hear a large gasp of air and some spluttering before a pair of wet arms pulls you back into the boat.
“I’m so so sorry,” Yuu howled your name over and over along with a litany of apologies.
As you finally steadied your whole body inside the boat, you gave a laugh and reassured Yuu that it was nothing. Thus, the end of your trip to your first destination.
