A short dialogue between Jan and Nace after “Šta bih ja” release about what this song means to their relationship.

Notes:

I am back from my writing block, hooray! Everyone cheers please ;) The inspiration hit me at 3:00 am at night during a huge thunderstorm when I was sitting safely at home, shivering with anticipation for the Joker Out gig which I go to... tonight! I am super excited!

“Šta bih ja” easily became my favorite JO song - I love the lyrics (which I can understand pretty well, since Serbian seems to be more similar to my mother tongue - Polish - than Slovene. And I loooove rough guitars....

Work Text:

  • Nace, we finally released “Šta bih ja”. Happy?
  • I’m super happy. Although you and Kris did everything to cover my bass line with your loud guitars, the result is really satisfying. I won’t let you have it like that with the next single. I will have my own bass solo, end of story.
  • Of course, baby, you deserve it like no one else.
  • About the song, though… Don't you think Kris and Bojan are suffering since they're in long-distance relationships with their girlfriends?
  • Yeah, probably, but we do have some great songs because of it.
  • Even though… it still sucks though, doesn't it?
  • For sure. If they're still in those relationships, there must be some positives to such a situation.
  • I cannot think of any…
  • It can be exciting… Shivering with anticipation for the next meeting, you make it to the fullest when you finally meet...
  • Jan, I'm always excited about you.
  • But… Don't you already have enough of me?
  • Never.
  • But for real? For real? We spend time 24/7, working together, living together, taking showers together...
  • Taking pics in the shower…
  • But only some of them are available to the public.
  • It’s always worth it to have your private collection.
  • Which is getting bigger and bigger…
  • I’m not complaining at all...
  • Coming back to my point, though… Do you sometimes think, “Ahh, I love this guy, but I wish I wouldn't see him every single day?” Just, you know, to bring some freshness, something new?
  • Yeah, maybe… But, firstly, when we’re at work (and we are at work a lot) it’s kinda feels like a long-distance relationship, to be fair. I cannot touch as I (and you) want toI cannot kiss you passionately, and do… other things. I can only play around with you on stage pretending it’s only a stage play, fan service, you name it. I am always in this sense of anticipation, waiting for us to come back home and have quality time – just the two of us.
  • Just the two of us… You and I… 
  • I even miss arguing with you when we’re on the tour! Every so often I just want to shout at you so loudly and I can’t!
