Tales From The Federation Break-Room

Summary:

What's the break-room for if not fofoca?

Chapter 1: Chapter 1: Missa Learns More About Philza

Chapter Text

Secrets.
They were something he was used to keeping and managing to discover, catalogue and put away for use at a later date.
So when he opened the door to his janitor closet to check the shelves and chest in there and found a book, he was all about the potential fofoca and opportunity to discover things.
Reading it quickly, he smiled.
Fit had been called to The Federation offices.
Despite having been there prior, this was a rare occasion that Fit wasn't going to waste. Putting the book back into the chest, he headed quickly back home to clear and organise his inventory.

Soon enough, he stepped onto the warp plate that the book gave him the co-ordinates to. He was greeted by Cucurucho standing at the end of the hallway.
What threw him for a loop though was that Missa was standing beside him, holding a broom and looking super overwhelmed and waving at him animatically.

"Uh...hello Boss. I got your message." He said, eyeing the broom that Missa was holding. As he had the passing thought of being replaced. He also wondered if his cover had been blown.

"Good Morning."

Fit nodded stiffly, pulling his own broom from his inventory. He glanced between Cucurucho as he was scrawling in the book and Missa, who pulled his own broom a little bit closer as he looked between the two.

"I need you to help me with something."  "Please read the book."

'Now that's a new line' Fit thought to himself as he took the book that was offered to him. After quickly reading over the details, he chuckled.
"Sure thing Boss."

"Por favor, sígueme."

The sudden change in voice and language made Missa jump to attention and made Fit smirk ever so slightly.
Both of them followed Cucurucho down the small stairs.

"So Missa, new janitor too?"
"Sí." Missa said, looking to him. "Philza does so much for Chayanne y Tallulah, I want to do something too, building a theme park is expensive though."
Fit quirked a brow. There was always such a sincereity around Missa despite him being so animated it sometimes threw him off. So shrugging, he followed Cucurucho through the door that the bear had opened.
Missa's gasp and subsequent cough at all the dust and cobwebs was enough to send Fit mentally reeling. He knew that the offices always tended to be clean so someone messed this up on purpose.

"Please, complete the task required."

And with that Cucurucho left.
Fit sighed.
"Well newbie, some ground rules."
"Eh?"
"Yeah. We clean, we don't pry into anything. Nothing gets put into pockets, everything spick and span by the end."
He missed the hurried Spanish Missa said and even the translator struggled. Still, Fit laughed at what he did pick up.
"I got told there's a break room, when we're done there's coffee."
And with that, they both got to work.

======

With the coffee maker bubbling, Fit folded his arms and waited on it to pour them both coffee.
He turned to Missa, who was picking at a donut he'd found in a box that said people in the break room were welcome to them.
"I don't know why you took to janitor work, I thought Philza had enough to keep you all comfortable. He's always had a hoarding problem so it shouldn't be an issue."
Missa shook his head. "He does, he does, I just-- I'd rather get things by myself for us both too, he already does so much for us all already."

Click.

"Yeah, I get ya." Fit pulled the pot and poured them both a coffee, both to their own preferences.
"You know Philza well, right?" Missa asked.
Fit grinned, putting Missa's mug in front of him.
"Oh you want fofoca, I see, I see! Well-" He said, pulling his chair in and sipping his roasting black coffee. "-What do you want to know?"
Missa had tried sputtering out platitudes and saying no but the idea was tempting. Too tempting.
So, gripping his mug a little closer.
"Chayanne told me he spoke of Technoblade and that was why the potato farm is now along the wall.."
Fit held his breath, nodding slightly behind his mug, wondering where the skeletal man was going.
"...but he mentioned an empire but didn't say much about it."
Fit chuckled.
He knew why Philza wouldn't mention a lot of details. Same reason he was suddenly aware of exactly where he was. The Federation. Not only were memories fuzzy when everyone first arrived, The Federation were always watching and listening. The only thing he didn't know was how much The Federation knew.
He supposed there was only one way to find out.

"Well, I was there so I can give you some insight--"
"en serio?!"
"Yeah, Philza and I go way back." He paused, sipping his coffee.
At the eager look of awaiting more information from Missa, he put his mug down.
"I can only give you one story with the break time we have though. So we have, World Domination, The Nuke Incident or the time he almost became a cop."
Missa drank some of his coffee and nibbled on a donut piece. "I've decided! The nuclear incident."
"Okay, so this was after the World domination thing - they ended up being betrayed by someone who joined the empire to try and get their own country some privilege or another, I forget exactly the details...I was given some explosives and sent on my merry way to destroy the target after the trials were over."
"So, wait, you did a nuclear explosion?!"
"Well, yeah, Philza and Technoblade had a lot of weapons. Being one of the richest Empires, war was as easy as breathing for them both."
Fit's words painted an image contradictory to the current way Missa knew him to be. It left him a little speechless as he searched Fit's face for any sign of a lie.
Fit was very good at schooling his features.
He merely picked up his mug and took another sip of his coffee before he continued speaking. "But yeah, the real way they discovered a lot was the weapons program test. That was a long time ago though. Philza is deadly with a bow and don't let him tell you any different."
"I knew he was a survivor and really strong..."
"You don't get that kinda strength from avoiding people all the time that's for sure." Fit commented, sipping his coffee again. "I would know. We were war buddies through that time. I was more a mercenary for hire though, I wasn't part of their Empire in any official capacity."
"Ohhh, okay--- ay dios mio!" Missa jumped as the door beside them opened and Cucurucho came through.

"What are you doing?"

Fit chugged the rest of his coffee swiftly before standing. "Hello Boss. We were just enjoying a coffee before coming to get you for the results. Room is spick and span."

"Please, follow me."

"Sure thing boss." Fit replied.
He tapped Missa's shoulder and both of them followed Cucurucho out.
Once Cucurucho inspected the room and gave them their reward, they were walked to the entrance. Time in the office was over.
Well, secrets were always awaiting to be discovered.
There was always next time.
