Lucas
Lucas sat under the familiar tree that was in the field of the church he had been living in for the last three years. He deep in the book he reading
“God you look like a hot unknown man in old movies” a familiar voice cut Lucas out of his other reality he was escaping to.
Lucas looks up to see Leonardo or just Leo.
“Thank you for that,” Lucas said, smiling at Leo. Leo sat down next to Lucas, running a hand through his long black hair, his curls going wild.
“So what book did you get today?” Leo asked Lucas, looking at the words on the pages of Lucas' book.
“little women,” Lucas said.Leo gives him a confused look before asking.
“Haven't you read this before”
“Yep”
Anyone who reads in the church had a limited number of books that weren't banned and Lucas couldn't find any good books we could read so he just picked up little women again, for like the tenth time. Lucas closed the book just after he put his bookmark in it, which was just a one dollar bill , placing it to the side that Leo wasn't sitting at.They both look at the field letting soft silence fall over them.
“You even wonder how the family are doing” Leo asked the familiar question, any of them in their friend group will ask it and it's always the same answer from Lucas.
“Well my dad is in prison, my sister is in uni and who knows about James” Lucas replied not wanting to look into Leo's green eyes.
“Yeah I know that already Lucas I mean are they still looking for us” Leo told Lucas, Lucas rolls his eyes at this question.
“Me and Demi already know your are still looking for you fro-”
“WHAT?!” Lucas shouted nearly standing up, cutting Leo off from what Leo was going to say. Leo looks at him then takes out a piece of fold up paper from his back jeans pocket giving it to Lucas. Lucas took it out of Leo's hand.
“Yeah me and Demi was in a small shop getting some pads and tampons and well I saw this” Leo told as Lucas unfold the paper to see it's was a missing person poster of him with all his details a picture of him he remember from when he and Frankie was friends and a AI generator of him now at the age of 19.
“And the owner showing someone talking about you on the telly and how they are still searching for you and before you worry only me and Demi saw it” Lucas nodded looking back down at the poster. The Al picture did look like just him, just his hair dyed a lighter blonde just like his mom's, but except for that it was him.
“You okay?” Leo asks. Lucas shakes his head, his tears falling on the poster.
“I don't know why I'm feeling like this,'' Lucas told Leo. Leo quickly pulled Lucas into a hug, his chin placed on top of Lucas' head.
“I thought that they wouldn't even care, but by what you said” Lucas cried into Leo's head. They sat like that for a lifetime. Lucas moved out of the hug wiping the unshed tears from his eyes.
“Do you remember that plan?, from that night on new year's” Lucas asks. Leo nodded.
“Well we need to start the plan” Lucas told Leo, handing Leo his hand.
“The plan to end the church” they both said in unison. Now they need to talk to their friends in the evening.
Dillon
Dillon sat in the dog looking at his laptop the hashtag “findlucashay” was trending on twitter and with that interview that Leah and Ste are going to do for the three years anniversary of Lucas disappearing he looked at the people reposted talking about Lucas case or news network making videos about it too. A new cup of coffee was placed on his table making Dillon look up to see Ro giving him a sad smile, Dillon took out one of his earphones.
“I think you need a another pick it up” he told Dillon.
“it's on the house”
“Thxs”
“Are you still looking at the Lucas hashtag” Ro asks.
“Yeah”
Ro sat down next to Dillon looking at Dillon's laptop.
“Wow that's a lot of people using the hashtag '' Ro said in an exciting voice, Dillon nodded. They both know it was one of the only ways they could help with the case as the investigation is in America, so making sure none forgets Lucas is the best they can do. With making videos, or having party's to support the cause. Ro sat back into the coach.
“It's sad you know what Lucas was going through and still going through” Ro said sadly. “I wonder what it's was like for him leaving”
Dillon nodded, he never told anyone about being the last person in the village to see Lucas and probably never will. “Well we have that competition in three weeks” Ro said, giving Dillon a small smile.
Dillon quickly changed the tag on his laptop.
“Oh, yeah here is the poster your dad asked for” Dillon told Ro, letting him look at the poster.
“It's looks amazing Dillon” Dillon nodded, closing his laptop and putting it in his bag.
“Yeah I print some at the library” Dillon said while putting his long brown leather jacket on and then his bag.
“Gets to you by the end of your shift” Ro nodded, standing up and walking to two people who had just come in.
