Work Text:
“Sorry ma’am, we’re going to have to put you on hold.”
“How long until-” she didn’t get to finish before she was cut off by a click.
Lily sighed and put her phone down at the table. She turned the speaker on so that she could hear when someone answered but was caught off guard by the music playing.
It had a soft acoustic melody that was sort of… gentle? She could hear a piano in the background and had a feeling there was some sort of string instrument, though she wasn’t sure what.
The voice caught her off guard. Whoever it was, they had the most beautiful voice she had ever heard. It was smooth, soothing, and, quite honestly, angelic.
She had meant to find something else to do while on hold but ended up just sitting at the table, listening. There was something achingly familiar about the voice but she couldn’t place her finger on what.
After about a minute the song petered out and someone said, “This is Davey Gudgeon from Phoenix radio and that was the new hit single Mon Lys by Regulus Black.”
Oh. My Lily. Regulus used to call her that.
