How Eggsy had found himself face to face with an absurdly tiny kitten in the middle of the night he had no clue. It had been a cool summers night so he'd decided to go for a walk, having stopped in the Black Prince to grab a drink for old times sake, and ended up staying out much longer than he'd intended.
He'd left the pub around eleven and had begun walking back home, well back to his and Harry's home, when upon rounding the corner he heard small cries coming from one of the hedges next to the sidewalk. Eggsy had ignored it at first, passing it off as some passing sound, but it grew more desperate and loud the closer he got to it.
Eggsy paused in front of the hedges, listening for a moment. Yep, it was coming from there. He crouched down in front of the hedge, hoping he didn't look too suspicious doing this. Looking deep into the brush, he could just barely make out a small lump of fur. Taking out his phone and turning on the flashlight to the highest setting, he shone it down into the dark space.
Two big saucer eyes gazed back at him as he shone the light. The creature looked to be an incredibly small, gray cat, and it looked absolutely horrified upon meeting eyes with him. Eggsy frowned to himself, wondering how the poor thing had ended up down here. Cats weren't very common around here, many more people owning big burly dogs either for self protection or sometimes more sinister matters.
Thinking of what he could do, Eggsy took off the windbreaker that Harry had insisted he'd bring, and knealt on his hands and knees on the ground, quickly glancing around the area to see if anyone was witnessing this. Once confirming he was entirely and completely alone, he parted the hedge best he could and reached one hand in, feeling around for the small animal.
The kitten let out a small mew upon Eggsy's hand touching it, and promptly hissed in his direction, it's small voice sounding hoarse and dry. How long had it been out here? Eggsy soon realized he had absolutely zero idea how to pick up a kitten and did his best to grab it around the stomach, just under its front legs.
As gently as he possibly could, he extracted the kitten from the brush, the small thing mewing loudly all the way. At last he had the kitten in his arms, kneeling on the floor holding it like a baby. He picked the windbreaker up off the ground and gently wrapped the kitten in it as best he could to prevent it from squirming and falling from his grip. With the small animal wrapped safely in his arms, Eggsy continued the trek home, mentally thanking Harry for being so worried he'd get cold in 21°C degree weather.

"Harry, I'm home!" Eggsy yelled up the stairs upon entering the home, confident enough that his lover wasn't entirely asleep by now. Shifting to hold the jacket bundle in one arm, Eggsy used the other to shut and lock the front door, and then to take off his trainers. His thoughts were soon confirmed by the sound of Harry shuffling around upstairs, most likely having been reading while waiting for Eggsy to return home.
Eggsy walked into the living room and sat down on the old, plush couch as he waited for Harry to eventually make his way downstairs. Soon enough his boyfriend walked into the living room, shooting Eggsy a soft, loving smile. Eggsy set the bundle on the couch and walked over to Harry, giving him a soft kiss on the lips.
"It's lovely to have you home, my dear." Harry said softly, resting his hands on Eggsy's hips. Eggsy blushed, smiling up at his boyfriend, he leaned in for another kiss when the kitten on the couch decided to start meowing incessantly. Harry looked over to the bundle with a surprised look on his face.
"Eggsy," He stepped back from Eggsy, looking over the boys shoulder. "What is that?" He questioned as he walked over to the couch.
"Well, I couldn't just leave it there!" Eggsy said, entirely ignoring Harry's question. He watched as Harry gently picked up the small bundle and reached a finger in to stroke the small animals head.
"Oh, sweetie." He said softly, cooing at the small cat. Gazing at the thing with pure affection in his eyes. Eggsy watched in awe, he'd never known Harry had such a thing for cats.
"You never told me you liked cats this much." Eggsy stated, walking over to watch as the small animal began to purr and knead the jacket Harry held it in.
"Well, you never asked." Harry replied, his attention still fully on the kitten. Eggsy looked on at Harry and the small kitten and couldn't help but laugh to himself, the image of a high-class super-spy assassin being fond of tiny kittens was quite amusing to him.
"Always pegged you as a dog type." Eggsy said plainly, moving to wrap his arms around Harry's waist as he continued petting the small cat.
Harry looks over his shoulder to smile sweetly at his boy.
"What, because of Mr. Pickles? Just because I owned a dog doesn't mean they're my favorite, Eggsy. I had quite a few cats in my youth actually." Harry smiled to himself as he recalled the cats his mother kept around his childhood home, "No better exterminator than a good cat!" she'd commonly exclaim. He had taken quite a liking to the animals, having named many of their cats himself, all childish names like Mittens, Snowball, and even Kitty.
Eggsy pressed a kiss to the side of Harry's neck, looking down into his arms at the kitten, who was now curled up, purring and kneading at Harry's hand.
"So... what should we do with it?" Eggsy asked, noticing how Harry had seemingly already grown quite attached to the small creature.
"I'd like to keep her." Harry replied softly, curling a finger around the cat's outrageously tiny paw.
"Her?"
"I just have a feeling, darling."
"Well, she'll need a proper name then."
Harry looks lovingly down at the kitten for a moment, thinking.
"How about Nikita."
"What, like the movie character?"
"You're one to talk, Eggsy, having a dog named after Jack Bauer."
Eggsy laughs and gently punches Harry in the side at this, moving to stand in front of him and the kitten. Gently, he extends two fingers and pets the sleeping cat's head.
"Yeah, I think Nikita'll do great."
