Chapter Text
A long night awaited her in her room, and after the day she had faced, if only she had powers like that weird boisterous red-haired girl from the Wyldness, she would have set fire to everything inside the room, starting with that creaky, hard bed she was forced to sleep in.
But she knew that this time she would avoid it like the rest of the past nights. Jordana could not think of falling asleep or resting with what awaited them. their mission wasn't over and Ras wasn't satisfied, so she had to give all her and more to make him proud of her.
And Cinder could just as well kiss her ass. Who did he think he was? Just because, unlike her, he had an elemental power was he more special than her? Jordana had been there longer than him. it was Ras himself who asked her for help, she was the first to be by his side from the beginning and then, not only does Cinder try to steal her place as Lord Ras' sidekick, that another elemental also accepted and joined their Clan.
She hated to doubt their Lord's loyalty, but many times it seemed as if he didn't care about her. it was also thanks to her that Ras was where he was now, even though the ritual had been interrupted, but at least one of the ninja was out, imprisoned inside the nether-space, but Jordana simply wished that Ras would put Cinder in his place.
And when Jordana came back to her senses, she thought about how unprofessional it was to bicker like a child with Cinder, so she went back to the plan, ignoring Ras's judgmental gaze. she had to prove herself that she was superior and better, especially than Ana.
Sitting in the chair in front of the small desk, she couldn't help but think about how much she hated that girl and all that she had unjustly with all her being. Ana always thought she was more than her from the beginning, showing how proudly she had designed the photac herself and laughed in front of her face when everyone applauded her creation, and no one ever cared about her own ideas solely because of her.
But Jordana would soon prove to her who was better of the two. just as she had proven to be a better assistant to the scientist Dr. LaRow back then, but now, with someone stronger like Lord Ras, she would destroy anything that made her happy, just as Ana had done with her dream, abruptly stealing it from her hands.
"UGH- I HATE HER!" In an instant she was back on her feet, pushing the chair to the floor and grabbing anything from above the desk into her fists, throwing it furiously against the wall, ending up on the floor inevitably destroyed.
Her hands flew through her red ponytail, squeezing the locks between the fingers, while her breathing wasn't helping her rage, heavy and much more frequent. Her heart was drumming in her ears, possibly infuriating her even more.
She could not allow her personal plan against Ana's destruction to be canceled and in the void for any reason in the world, she had to suffer just as she had suffered all those years in Imperium, make her pay for all the frustration and embarrassment Jordana felt. she deserved it, even if it meant pushing the limits.
Pulling her trembling hands away from the now disheveled hair, she glanced back at the desk, grabbing a small vase and also the only thing left, she squinted her eyes, letting a sigh of anger wade out of her throat as a exasperated lament.
Expecting the sound of white ceramic shattering into a thousand pieces against the wall, any feeling of fury was replaced by confusion. Opening her eyes again, she looked down at her hands and then turned away, finding neither the vase destroyed nor on the ground.
"What did the vase do to you that you wanted to destroy it?"
Frightened, she looked where the voice was coming, finding a dark blue figure holding the intact ceramic vase.
"What are you doing here? Shouldn't you training? or whatever.." Jordana didn't expect to find the new member in her room, much less to talk to him. she didn't like him, and didn't like when he wouldn't take things seriously. she don't understand what was so interesting about him that Ras even went looking for him himself.
Okay, he was the master of lightning and could be a useful resource, but wouldn't just one elemental that could fight on the team be enough? she couldn't believe she had to put up with one before Cinder even arrived, and now she had to try not to kill two.
"I actually just finished, but I heard some weird sounds and got worried" Jordana looked at him, up and down, annoyed that she couldn't have her privacy.
"Worry about thinking about your things, do you understand?"
He snorted, before nodding and replying "yes, understood"
Jordana turned around, turning her back to him and expecting to be left alone again, and so it was as soon as she heard his footsteps move away from her room.
She looked around her room, then closed the door behind and prepared for another sleepless night on the desk, under the small, yellow light lamp that had feared for its life. lifting the chair off the floor, she sat down on it and began to go over some scrolls as ordered by Ras.
By the time she remembered the vase, it was too late, but she didn't care in the end. That guy could do anything with that stupid object.
