“I just like someone I feel comfortable with” Pa meant it when she said that but still, it’s her first relationship and it’s a relationship society doesn’t deem as “normal.” She was comfortable with Ink, but now that they're dating, she doesn't know how to calm her heart whenever she's with her. How do you even get comfortable in a relationship?
She’s tried researching lesbian relationships and all that tells her is there are still people in this century stereotyping wlw relationships as “a masculine woman and a feminine woman,” which isn’t wrong per se but that’s not how every relationship dynamic is. She groans how is she supposed to get comfortable with Ink like this?
Pa closes her laptop as her phone dings. She stares as Ink’s name pops up on the message notification, ‘Should we go to the cafe today? They released a new cake I think you’d like.’ Well, that instantly brought a smile to her face. ‘P’Ink are you trying to make me fat? Cause it’s working’ she replied followed by ‘Let’s meet in 20?’
Another ding ‘No matter what you look like I'll always love you so eat what you want <3.’ Pa blushes, how is there anyway her girlfriend can be this sweet? She stood up quickly running to her closet, the pajamas she was in were definitely not date material. She threw on a t-shirt and some jeans, simple cause there was no reason she had to be extravagant, right..?
Well, she was right, there was no reason for her to dress up, but she did. The t-shirt and jeans turned into a light blue top with a white skirt, which she's not completely upset about because the way Ink's eyes lit up, she'd do it all over again. “Wow..were we supposed to dress up?” Ink teases. oh now she's embarrassed. “Well, P’ink didn’t specify if it was a date or just a casual hang out and I didn’t wanna seem underdressed, oh but now I look overdressed huh? Its okay, I'll just go home and-” “Pa” Ink stops her rambling, puts a hand on her head “It doesn't matter what you wear” she smiles “Plus you look pretty so just keep it on, hm?”
“P’Ink'' Pa whines, “you're always teasing me.” Ink laughs “Pa I’m not teasing I’m being serious, you’re the cutest'' Pa goes red “you spoil me too much P’Ink you’re going to have to compliment me every day” Pa says as she takes a bite of the cake on the table. “Okay, I’ll compliment you till the day I die.”
-
The rest of the date went on in a normal fashion, just talking about how their days have been going. “P’Ink,” Pa calls as they are walking out the door, “can I come over today?”
Ink smiles, “Pa you never have to ask, come over whenever you want.” Pa blushes “mm okay, let’s go?” “eager are we?” ink teases, Pa’s cheeks flush a darker red than they already are as she swats at Ink’s arm.
Ink reaches for Pa’s hand “come on let’s walk” she says as she pulls Pa along. Pa stares at their hands as they walk, hand in hand but she wants more. If she just twists her hand- ah their fingers intertwine and it just feels so right. Ink notices and smiles, her girlfriend is going to be the death of her. She tightens her grip on Pa's hand.
As they get near Ink’s condo she stops at the market nearby, “I haven't had time to go shopping so there's no food” Ink sheepishly smiles. Pa nods, P’ink is gonna make food for her? Oh she could get used to that. She thinks about them in the kitchen, Pa just there for mental support considering her cooking skills, whipping up a nice meal for the both of them.
By the time she's done daydreaming, Ink already has everything they need and is heading to check out. They start their walk home again, each of them has a bag in one hand and the others hand in the other. It's so domestic, they're not even to her house yet, and look at them.
-
They get to Ink’s house and she lets go of Pa’s hand to unlock the door, it feels so empty now. Ink opens the door and takes the bag from Pa to go set them in the kitchen. Pa closes the door and follows, and helps put the food away. “I like” Ink starts, Pa looks over to her “like?” Ink closes the fridge, the color red creeping up the back of her neck “I like this, you, here helping me like this” Pa smiles, her own blush covering her cheeks “me too, it’s nice.”
Ink grins and walks over to her wrapping her arms around her waist. Pa stares up at her, arms going around Ink’s waist. They just stand there a moment, staring into each other’s eyes, until Ink leans down and gives her a peck. Woah, did Ink just kiss her? Pa stares, feeling bold as she grabs Ink’s shoulders and brings their lips back together. Ah, this feels nice is the only thing that goes through her mind until Ink runs a hand through Pa’s hair and deepens the kiss. Pa moans, too caught up in the moment to be embarrassed about it. She feels Ink bend, her fingers grazing the back of Pa’s thighs, then she’s being picked up and placed on the countertop. Pa wraps her legs around Ink’s waist, it’s so hot her cheeks are burning and her head is going foggy. Ink pulls back as they’re both breathless, Pa’s eyes are hazy as she stares and Ink. Ink smiles and leans down to give a quick peck, once, twice, by the third kiss Pa feels Ink’s smile on her lips, mirroring one of her own.
“That was..” Pa pants “good” Ink finishes. Pa smiles “mm good” Ink tucks a hair behind Pa’s ear and smiles at her, “you know, I really really like you Pa” Pa smiles “I really like you too P’ink” she says, reaching her arms around Ink’s neck and pulling her into a hug. Ink hugs her back, tucking her nose into Pa’s neck. They sit like that for a moment, just enjoying each others presence, before Ink mumbles saying she should make them something to eat. Ink peppers a few kisses on Pa’s neck, making the shorter shiver, before sitting up straight and looking Pa in the eyes, “I think you should come over more often my love.” my love? Pa’s brain short circuits at the pet name, my god she feels nervous all over again. Ink smiles at her and kisses her on the forehead before finally pulling away while saying “don’t think so much cutie, just go with it” Ink grins while walking back over to the fridge to get started on their food.
Oh my god Pa thinks, Ink has known this whole time how she was feeling! Pa thinks about how Ink didn’t make fun of her, just silently comforted her. She smiles at Ink’s back, maybe she is already comfortable in the relationship..just a bit of an overthinker. She hops off the counter wrapping her arms around Ink’s back, “thank you P’ink” tightening her grip. Ink doesn’t say anything just settles one of her hands onto Pa’s, silent reassurance. “Do you want me to help cut anything? I can probably cut a carrot..” Pa chirps, Ink glances down at her “maybe next time cutie, don’t need you cutting off any fingers before we get to do anything.” Pa smacks Ink’s shoulder “P’ink” she cries as she hurries off to hide in the living room, all she can hear behind her is Ink’s laughter echoing, a smile forming on her own face.
