Chapter 1: "Repetition" - Desert duo

Chapter Text

A pact made by blood
The blood of my soul
You stay by my side
Through all trouble and turmoil

You work and you slave
To save me and my dreams
And yet still I left
Pulled apart at the seams

Two betrayals back to back
And I’m left here soaked in blood
Your sword at my throat
Your trust raked through the mud

I kneel down before you
As one final stand
If I am to die
Let it be by your hand

Alas it’s not here
By the base of the lake
But up by our tower
My final resting place

Blood on your hands
Horror in your eyes
A ring of sharp spikes
Memories of past allies

The very final act
As my ghost stands there sadly
You step to the edge
And plummet down faithfully

Brought back to suffer
Awake once again
Stood in a circle
The ghosts of past friends

Form an alliance?
Make peace once again?
But no, all forgotten
A tale from back then

I shall make magic
You shall make laughter
You’ve stolen my heart
And lost it there after

You’re left, one last life
After shots in the dark
You signed off your soul
I’ve given my heart

Stood next to my “Allies”
You watch as I scream
Stabbed through the chest
Standing back, watching me

|

I look on unphased
Seeing him fall
It’s happened already
It’ll happen twice more

I won’t live much longer
I’ll soon fall in the woods
Shot like before
Rooting in the roots

Brought back once more
But this time is different
Linked to another
Blood tied together

Searching for my soul bound
Gazing through the smoke
Walking in the dark
Feeling my heart choke

Sitting in a canyon
Trying t’make amends
Scar runs round joyfully
Chasing flying friends

A single hit, a single punch
I feel my throat go soar
A scream echos round the base
I can’t do this no more

Construct a house of tall stone spikes
Have fun with friends and cats
But ashes lay where it once stood
A punishment for my acts

I do not wish to do this
I can’t pretend no more
I’ll find another partner
I’ll close another door

|

There he goes again
Cursed to walk apart
I hoped it would be different
This rope that ties my heart

I ride on through the forest
I feel my chest grown tight
I fall down to the ground
And left to rot at night

|

Not this time
I refuse
I shan’t do this
I REFUSE

Together we bing naught but sorrow
Together we destroy each other

I’ll find new friends
Make a new home
I’ll laugh and play
Claiming lives for my own

But both them fall
And scar’s stead fast
And whispers in my head do scream
And eyes watch on for every corner

Each reflection talks back
Every raindrop screams
A pact comes back to help me
Falling, falling once again

|

Welcome! Weary travellers
May I interest you in wears
This time, I’ve accepted
Not trapping birds with my hands

|

Wait, that's him!
This is my chance
We can start anew
We may now be together
I now know what to do

|

Not again, I know it’s false
Your words are sewed with lies
Your tongue is covered with sharp spikes
You’re eyes show broken ties

Tell me keepers, what should I do
Speak secrets in my ears
Point me in the right direction
Wash away my old, dead tears

Blood, death, betrayal
Is this what you wanted!
Everyone now hates me!
Are you proud, are you happy!

I’ve won
Finally
But why won’t it work
What do you mean she’s dead
If she is I should be free
Why am I still here
Stop! Why are you here
Why do you carry a crown
This is not what I wanted
WHY WONT IT WORK!

Chapter 2: A canary in a coal mine - Canary curse

Summary:

A slightly shorter poem based on the canary curse Jimmy has throughout the life series.

Notes:

(See the end of the chapter for notes.)

Chapter Text

A canary in a coal mine
Fighting for its life
Forced down in the darkness
Soot black’ning their eyes

A canary in a coal mine
Unwilling, forced by hands
Lowed in a small cramped cage
Into forsaken lands

A canary in a coal mine
Feathers dulled with dust
Throat clogged up by in-pure air
Eyes blocked up with shust

A canary in a coal mine
Lights hang’n from chains
Rocks jut out from unnatural angles
Coal lies free to take

A canary in a coal mine
Strength made into weakness
Advantage turned to heavy load
Assistance turned to feebleness

A canary in a coal mine
Forced down once again
Wings are clipped and bones are broken
At last they see the end

Notes:

I'm thinking of posting a flower husbands poem, thoughts?

Chapter 3: Poppies and Lilacs

Summary:

AHHHHHHHHHHH

Chapter Text

Poppies and Lilacs

The lilac seeds fall down
The poppies petals bloom
The gravel of a well trod path
A bright red, faint dead hue

The lushess tall proud cactus
The dying old rich oak
The flower field that bursts with beauty
A Deep dug sand filled moat

The tallest of walls
The rarest of trees
The strength of a lama
The joy of a bee

The thickness of blood
The roughness of hands
The blackness of hearts
The coarseness of sand

The sting of sharp tears
The feel of sharpe spikes
The taste of rich blood
The sense of lost light

The hot beating sun
The red dampened cloak
The odd sitting bones
The eyes stung with smoke

Poppy petals wilting
Lilacs falling down
A wound left on the ‘sacred’ cliff
I take my final bow

Chapter 4: A couple of flowers

Summary:

The promised Flower Husbands poem :3

Chapter Text

I hear a scream
I run and see
I save your life
It’s you and me

You gift me flowers
Your love of flowers
Your love of me
Shins clear and brightly

We can make a home
We can live together
We can stay on
And wait for each other

The red king rises
With means through betrayal
His blood soaked crown
His blood soaked trail

Stabbed by an ally
I can’t hold a grudge
I shall avenge your name
I shall avenge our love

I fall to the red king’s hands
My love for you now proven
I hope that we shall meet again
And it won’t lead to ruin

I venture for forgotten lands
I seek treasures old and new
I decorate my self with gems
My eyes see magic truths

What have we here? A small toy sheriff?
Well isn’t this just fun
He carries guns around his waist
His badge gleams in the sun

Allies we are
And allies we shall remain
You dressed in a leather waistcoat
I dressed up in paint

You want so much, I’ll give so much
You consume all my thoughts
You have no handcuffs? That is fine.
I shan’t demand much more

This man’s lucky I like him
It’s probably cause he’s pretty
Although I get this lingering feeling
I’m sure it’s nothing nitty

There it is again
Could you say that word once more
Im certain that i know this
I’m sure I’ve heard it before

Well no matter, I’ll forget
That’s up to future me
For now I have my own problems
He now walks on two feet

Another life, another world
Another set of rules
These ones a little harsher
These turn us to fools

Life bought back with money
Price placed on revival
You all dressed in frilly things
None survive our trial

Well that were uneventful
All I gained was trauma
It did improve my character
What are these thoughts I wonder

But i guess i'm getting side tracked
Though are relationship’s quite dead
No point in prolonged hardship
No point in dragged out dread

Chapter 5: The winners cycle

Notes:

(See the end of the chapter for notes.)

Chapter Text

The first will be a god like being
Whose hands are stained with blood
Their hair a sun dropped golden cloud
Their tears as strong as floods

The second works behind closed doors
He sings and laughs and lies
His star crossed eyes surrender bloodshed
With the cutting of his ties

The third is mad and full of anguish
Her heart broken, left to rot
Her sharp pearl weapons glint in moonlight
Her wolf’s blood red and hot

The fourth is one of god born anger
His desire seeks no end
By prince of war right blessed is he
His glory from dead friends

The fifth is lone and full of sorrow
Friends and foes lie dead
Like the earth in sun’s rough shadow
A crown sits ’top his head

And finally the sixth stands proud
Apon a plinth of plenty
His victory is sorely earned
His chariot stands empty

Notes:

A poem baed on the winner of each life series :3

These's also a hint to each winners celestial figure in their stanza :p

Chapter 6: Good times with Scar

Notes:

(See the end of the chapter for notes.)

Chapter Text

Good times come and good times go
Over hills and mountain’s sorrow
Offered souls that grasp at strings
Detriment to sane man's whims

Talking with a friend from depths
Imps and angels mix their steps
Meaning lost and meaning gained
Every thought leaks through brains drains
Sentimental heart string frames

Withholding love and lustful passion
Imagination drives ones actions
Torrents of a child's first love
Hatred from a parents hard touch

Sacred fold and sacred flower
Corpses top a treacherous tower
Agape born through sickening means
Raptured sounds beam down ‘pon me

Notes:

Hey so this isnt the best tbh, ive been rlly busy with school so havent had much time to write. But i did this with a prompt called "Hide something in your work" so thats exactly what ive done :D See if you can find it

Hint:

Look at the first letter of each line

Chapter 7: Bamboozled

Notes:

They're getting more cryptic

Chapter Text

It bamboozled me, the strangling sound
The gushing water’s fiery round
The tumbling boulders difficult dance
The prideful somber severance

It confused me, the twisting rope
The grappling thoughts, the love that chokes
The crying, baying of the birds
The wistful grazing of the herds

It bewildered me, the red hot life
The steadily dripping iron knife
The rushing sound of water’s fall
The splintered ribs from sun’s rough call

Now I know, what’s gone from me
The silver soul ripped vehemently
The final sound, I break my vow
An unknown, silent, painful bow

Chapter 8: Name

Notes:

(See the end of the chapter for notes.)

Chapter Text

I want a name that's fast and free
Not one that stale and forced ‘pon me
Its dry and damp and wrong and right
Its someones self not mine by right
Not mine to own not mine to say
Not jotted down as my one name

I dont want one thats bruised and broken
Whispered in hush not proudly spoken
Riddled with holes that spill and leak
Hidden behind disguise so weak
It shall bring pain, not joy as it should
I won't be tethered, by another's muddied roots

And neither shall I settle
For one that's rich and prideful
Draped in lace and pearly beads
Embroidered, stitched with silver reeds
No matter how perfect it may appear
Lies twist from its slit like tears

My name is one that shines like sun
Thats bright like childlike fun
That's fresh like homegrown grain
That's new like stead fall rain
My true name thats just for me
Forever mine, uniquely mine
Its my true name
Grian

Notes:

Its interesting to me that Grian has so much lore surrounding names, particularly in YHS
