A new day for the sand emperor and after a back-breaking turn of non stop asexual reproduction for a whole Amber era they finally go back home to rest before repeating all that slop again.
-knock knock
“Who’s there?” Said Tayzzy, quite confused since no guests were expected and no one would really want to visit them.
“I’m the mail delivery bug, this is for you, please sign here to retrieve the envelope”
“O-oh yeah thank you” they signed quickly and wobbly, excited to open the surprise package.
After sending off the mailman the Aeon decided to open the newly obtained loot, before doing so, they passed by the living room.
They saw what was always there, a photo on the wall where the last members of their species reunited in a last attempt at fighting back the invaders.
You know how it ended.
The flashbacks of the brutal extermination, the fires, the cruel experiments and the never ending loneliness came all back.
Leading to a panic attack that left them on the floor sobbing, again, they swore they would remove that photograph one day, but they never felt ready to let go.
They never felt safe and warm enough.
After half an hour they managed to get up and go to the kitchen, the spark of curiosity reignited and they were ready to open the mail.
After slicing through the paper container with their sharp claws, they found a letter.
They started reading out loud:
“Boss and progenitor of all,
Me and our brothers and sisters see that you’re struggling with the past, your wounds still exposed and your traumas still fresh in your mind.
So we decided to give you something, even though it’s not comparable to the gift of life you gave us, but we’re trying our best.
Please follow the instructions on the back of the letter and you’ll have a wonderful weekend, and don’t worry, we’ll take good care of our siblings.
Skaracabaz.”
Tayzzyronth felt their eyes getting most.
they thought that not going would be very rude, their family tried to make them feel better, so they should appease them.
Also they felt very curious about this whole ordeal.
And so they did, the instructions were very clear and led Tayzzy to a splendid building they never saw before.
The style reminds them of a planet they saw long ago, near a certain black hole.
Inside the building there were signs that explained what to do and how and employees that took the sand emperor and brought them to a room full of lockers.
They were scared at first but then they saw an old man changing clothes and understood what they would have to do, and so full of embarrassment they removed their external exoskeleton and opened the door at the end of the room…
Only to see a marvelous pond full of beautiful rocks, ornamental plants, some critters swimming by and some other guests who were enjoying the warmth of the hot water.
Before entering the thermal pool they felt really shocked and surprised, their children were really thoughtful, and this gift was much appreciated.
They washed themselves quickly with a rag and a tube spewing water outside the pool and then they got in.
The pleasure was immense and the joy unmeasurable.
The hot humid air surrounding their body did wonders to alleviate and soothe their worries and tensed muscles.
The other people seemed really approachable too, and they even started to chat about some light topics.
The experience was really fun and relaxing.
Maybe they weren’t alone as they thought.
After chatting with some old men, Tayzzy decided that it was enough bathing for today, he had to exit the warm pond, or they would become a boiled bug in no time.
Following their tactical retreat they went exploring around the strange building and they noticed other interesting services and facilities.
But, before they could even think of taking a small break, a member of the staff took them on a strange looking bed with a hole where the face should go.
Tayzzy was very confused, but the quick and relaxing movements of the experienced woman made them go limp from the relaxation, they never felt THIS good.
Again, near the bed where they were being massaged, old women were already there, chatting about the newest topics, from the birth of a new interastral corporation, to the increase of the prices of radishes.
The last one seemed to be a very concerning matter for the old ladies, they were about to panic, but the veteran employees made them all forget about the vegetables.
Tayzzy listened carefully, or at least they tried to, they didn’t manage though.
All that relaxation made them fall asleep really quickly.
They woke up on a shaky bed, and they almost fell on the floor while trying to get up.
An old man was laying next to them and watched them struggling for a bit, after that he explained that they were still in the spa, and the bed was a water filled one. Made to relieve people of all the tension as if floating on the sea.
Tayzzy understood and started enjoying it really a lot, they also found a cool glass of apple juice and a steaming cup of tea nearby.
They were happy.
