“Katsuki!” Shouto winced, shoving a piece of rubble off of him. While they had managed to save the civilians and defeat the villain, the building was not so lucky. He blinked the dust and debris from his eyes, shaking out his hair a bit. The sun had just started rising as if the cliche wasn’t quite complete. Shouto held up a hand to block the light from his eyes. “KATSUKI!”
He glanced to his left. Camie was screaming Bakugou’s name over and over, frantically looking for her husband. Shouto immediately buckled down and began to help. He knew realistically the blonde went down with Izuku. They were never far from one another during these situations. More uninjured or lightly bruised heroes joined the search. Shouto sent out a light frost to detect any voids within the rubble.
“Over here!” Tenya called. Shouto ran over, helping Denki and Hanta pull sheets of cement and iron rebar away. When he spotted the bright green of Deku’s suit, he went twice as hard, yanking more debris away. Hanta yanked up the final piece, revealing three heroes beneath.
“Oi,” Katsuki grunted from the ground. “Hell took ya so long?”
“Kacchan, be nice!” Izuku scolded.
“If ya don’t mind,” Eijirou groaned, shifting beneath the weight of a pretty sizable chunk of cement.
“Oh gods! Sorry Ei!” Izuku yanked Katsuki up then gave a solid punch to the rubble, blowing it to bits and relieving Eijirou of the weight.
“Hn,” Katsuki grunted, turning away from everyone to stretch for a second.
“Ah, Bakugou, your-,”
“KATSUKI!” Camie flew around the proverbial bend, launching herself into Katsuki. The explosive hero caught her instantly, his features melting from hardened hero to relieved husband. “Gods Katsuki, you’re alright, thank gods,”
“Of course I am,” The man rumbled, setting his illusionist wife down. Shouto stepped back as the couple shared a few romantic words, moving to stand beside Izuku. The shorter man seemed uninjured with exception to a few cuts and bruises. Thank the gods he didn’t break a bone again.
There were a few hoots and shouts. Shouto glanced up, seeing Camie and Katsuki in a passionate kiss. The blonde couple were wrapped around one another, Katsuki supporting Camie as the practically climbed his body. Their kiss broke as the shouting continued, Camie burying her face in Katsuki’s neck while the man shouted at people to piss off.
Shouto glanced at Izuku, noticing the greenette had a look. Shouto was never quite good with emotions, but he knew that look. Just as he knew all of Izuku Midoriya’s looks. Izuku had the slightest of tears in his eyes, a happy wobble to his lips, mixed with saddened want. Shouto glanced back at the couple to take some quick notes. He studied Katsuki’s hand placement, the way Camie had her legs wound around his hips, and just how happy the couple looked despite the clear embarrassment over the other heroes witnessing their emotional reunion.
He glanced back at Izuku. Took in the state of the man, his attire, everything. He was perfect.
“Shouto what are yo-mph!” The hoots and shouts started up again as Shouto silenced Izuku with his lips. He’d had to adjust where he grabbed due to the size difference between Izuku and Camie (Izuku never got quite taller past high school), but he made it work! They broke apart as more shouts from the others continued, Izuku derailing the image by pressing his forehead to Shouto’s instead of hiding in his neck. Though, Shouto noted he had Izuku propped up a bit higher than Katsuki had Camie. Heh, 1 Shouto, 0 Katsuki.
“Shouto, what was that for?” Izuku was bright red, looking anywhere but Shouto’s eyes.
“That’s how you want me to kiss you, right?” Izuku’s face somehow deepened in color, tears welling in his green eyes as Shouto just stared up at him with all the love and adoration he could. It didn’t matter the others were watching, nor that they weren’t even in a relationship. None of it mattered.
And that’s the moral of the story.
Though, to this day, even at their wedding, Katsuki never forgets to mention that Shouto used him for inspiration.
