Spark in the aftermath

Summary:

You'd think after ten thousand years, a grudge would long and gone. Wrong! Some grudges last a lifetime. Especially when it's from someone you trusted the most.

In the Pride Ring, there are many dangerous places even demons won't enter. However, there's always going to be someone living in them.

Notes:

I know the other fic hasn't updated yet. I'm still working on the chapter. I just couldn't stop myself from making this one.

Chapter Text

Gadreel was busy cleaning his bident in the courtyard. He was so excited about the new project and he's going to get to be a part of it!

A voice came from behind him.

"Hey, Gadreel!"

The tall angel squeaked and nearly dropped his weapon. He looked down to see Lucifer looking at him.

"Sorry," Lucifer said in an apologetic tone.

"It's fine, my friend," Gadreel said. "What can I do for you?"

Lucifer replied," I want you to tell me about the new project, please."

Gadreel shrunk himself to Lucifer's height and asked," why are you asking me and not the others?"

"Ugh, the others are evading my questions left and right. I thought my best friend would at least tell me."

Gadreel rolled his eyes and said, " Ugh, fine! But, don't go causing anything to ruin this. I've a big role to play!"

"You do?! What is it?," Lucifer asked.

"I don't exactly know, but the others said they'll notify me when my part begins," Gadreel said.

"Just tell me what's going on."

Gadreel leaned foward to his friend and whispered," they're creating a new type of being."

Lucifer asked," a new type of being?"

"Yup, they're currently working on the design for the prototype."

The seraphim giggled in excitement.

"I promise to let you see the finished product when it's done," Gadreel said.

"Oh, this is so exciting!," Lucifer squealed.

It truly was.

-

Gadreel watched as the new being was molded from the dust and given the breath of life. The prototype was complete.

The creature looked around at the angels in curiosity.

The being had skin as brown as the earth, eyes the same color, and hair black as night.

"Welcome to life, little one," Sera said.

"Life?," the being said.

Sera nodded and said," you are a creature known as a "human" and your name shall be Adam. The place you reside in is Eden."

Adam slowly stood up. The others clapped at his accomplishment. Adam giggled and also clapped.

"A fast learner," someone murmured.

-
Gadreel was so excited. Why? He was chosen! Chosen to be the guardian of Eden! The guardian of Adam.

He stood at the gate scanning the unfinished outside.

"Hello!"

Gadreel jumped and turned around. Adam was at the edge of the garden looking at him with curiosity.

"Hello, Adam," Gadreel said.

"I was told that you guard Eden. What's a "guard"?," Adam asked.

Gadreel replied," I'm your protector. My job is to make sure you don't get out and nothing gets in."

"Why?," Adam asked.

"Well, the outside isn't finished and they don't want a runaway creature to accidentally enter here and hurt you," Gadreel said.

"Oh, okay, what's your name," Adam asked.

Gadreel replied," I am Gadreel, pleased to meet you."

-

"Gadreel! Gadreel! Look at what I made!," Adam said. Showing the angel a circular ring of flowers.

"Very creative, Adam," Gadreel said. "What is it?"

"My very own halo!," Adam said.

"Halo?"

"Yeah! Everyone else has halos so why can't I?"

Gadreel giggled and used some of his magic to keep the flowers from withering. "If that's how you feel then you should have a halo."

The next day, Adam tried to fly, only to not. Gadreel watched in amusement as the human jumped off a rock flapping his arms.

"How come I can't fly? I have a halo," Adam said.

"It's because, you don't have wings, young one," Gadreel said wiggling his own wings.

Adam pouted.

-

The next day, Adam was sitting on Gadreel's lap as the angel put on a light show. The were near the entrance because Gadreel didn't want to be to far from his post.

"Wow, I didn't know you could do that with light! Let me try!," Adam said.

The poor thing began moving his arms only for nothing to come out.

"Why can't I do it?," Adam asked.

"It's because you aren't and angel," Gadreel said.

"Why am I not an angel?," Adam asked looking up at the angel with big brown eyes.

"You weren't made that way."

"Why was I made?," Adam asked.

Gadreel was about to explain before another voice chimed in.

"You were made as the first of many."

Samyaza, a very independent angel, walked up to them with a smile on his face.

"Hello, Adam, I am Samyaza," Samyaza said.
Adam seemed curious about this new angel before him. Gadreel allowed the human to walk up to Samyaza.

"I'm Adam! You're very beautiful!," Adam said.

Samyaza awed.

Gadreel smiled at the scene in front of him. Samyaza lifted Adam into the sky. Without hesitation, Gadreel snatched him back.

"Protective, aren't you?," Samyaza said

"Sorry, I don't know what came over me," Gadreel said.

Adam asked, " why did you do that? It was fun!"

"He could've dropped you," Gadreel said.

Samyaza gasped in an offended manner. "I am not that clumsy," he said.

-

"You're suppose to be guarding him, not being his playmate," Michael said.

The archangel had appeared one day after Adam went back to the inner garden.

"Apologies, but Adam doesn't have anyone else to talk to," Gadreel said.

Michael thought for a moment before flying away.

-
"Her name is Lilith and she's so pretty!," Adam said.

Gadreel nodded and asked," has she gotten acquainted with the garden enough?"

Adam gasped," Oh no! I'm supposed to teach her how to swim in the pond!"

"Then, you better get going," Gadreel said.

Adam and ran off.

-

Gadreel didn't have much to do today. He was starting to get bored and wanted to see Adam. He wanted to possibly meet Lilith. Unfortunately, duty calls.

"Hey, what's with the frown?"

Gadreel squeaked and turned to his right. Lucifer was standing next to him.

"It's nothing," Gadreel said.

Lucifer shrugged and replied," if you say so."

Gadreel looked at Lucifer curiously and asked," why are you here in the first place? I know it's not just to visit me, I've known you since we were young."

Lucifer chuckled. "You caught me! I here because I want to know if I could see the humans," he said.

"Why haven't you seen them already?," Gadreel asked.

"Well, the others think I might frighten them," Lucifer said.

Gadreel replied," you can be a bit eccentric."

"Can I go see them, please? I promise I won't cause any trouble! I'lljust observethem from afar, " Lucifer said.

Gadreel thought for a moment. What's the harm in observation?

Oh, how he regretted that decision years later.
