Work Text:

The sun is strong, but soft enough for it to feel comfortable. On the beach, Ada watches as Leon and their daughter Alicia play in the water. Ada had her fun earlier, now she was just enjoying the sun, laying on her stomach and snacking on some fruits.

They went to the beach fairly often, and each time Leon is trying desperately for Alicia to learn how to swim. But, she's still young and unfortunately isn't the most capable just yet.

For now, he stays in the shallow parts and swings her around in the water. Sometimes dunking her under for just a moment. It made Ada happy to see, it was fun to watch. She also played with them sometimes. It always ended with both of the girls giggling as Leon shows off that he could carry both of them in the water.

It seems to impress the little girl more than it does Ada.

As she watches them, she can't help but feel a little restless. Thinking for a moment, she remembers the bar set up on shore. Ada collects her belongings and sneaks away to the bar.

Upon arrival, she notices that there are a lot more people here than she anticipated. She's trying to learn to enjoy company, though it isn't working.

Ada adjusted her sunhat, and sat at an available seat away from others. The bartender soon comes up to her, asking what she'd like to drink.

"Surprise me. I'm sure whatever you give me will be good." She smiled warmly at them.

She's whipped up what appears to be a strawberry daiquiri. Basic, but she didn't mind. Ada takes a sip of her beverage, she's suddenly having second thoughts on whether she should be drinking now. Showing back up tipsy to her family wouldn't be the most ideal, though she's known to hold her liquor well... It shouldn't be a problem, she thinks.

4 hours pass, and it's obvious Ada lost track of time. She got lost in the movies that were playing on the screens above. She's always on the lookout for a movie to show Alicia, since Leon seems to have seen them all.

She thanks the bartender for her time, and makes her way back over to her family. The scene that she discovered was... Humorous.

Both of them sleeping, the umbrella that was once covering them conveniently blown over slightly by the wind. They're both completely exposed to the sun, red like tomatoes. Another issue, Alicia's hand is placed across Leon's stomach. Ada bent down, not believing the two of them. The little girl woke up, blinking her eyes open to see her mother.

She got up moving her hand from Leon entirely. "Mommy!" She smiled.

"You're all sunburnt, Alicia." She sighed.

Leon woke up then, moving his head best he could to look at them. He's all the same, the unflattering shade skin shouldn't be. Ada spots the mark on his stomach, a perfect outline of where Alicia's arm laid their entire nap.

Ada couldn't help but giggle, covering her mouth to try and compose herself.

"What's the matter?" He asked, clearly unaware.

"You look like a crime scene." She snickered, pointing to the mark on his body.

Leon sat up, taking a closer look at it. "Ah..."
He plopped himself back down, covering his eyes. He couldn't help but laugh too.

"What a unique tanline you gave me, Ali."

Alicia looked at his stomach and giggled, too. "My arm!"

In the end, they all ended up laughing together. Though Ada still couldn't push aside the fact that they're both going to suffer the consequences of their sunburns the next day. Apparently both of them need adult supervision.
