Work Text:
The first hours of Sniper and his work buddy's trip were excellent- his partner got to see new sights, and Sniper got to introduce them to his music taste. Especially his favorite band, Alice In Chains. In fact, Sniper's pal quite enjoyed the music, tapping their foot to the beat of it. That was enjoyable for about an hour.
Then came the lecturing- mostly Sniper subtly swooning over the band's lead singer (Named Layne Staley, as he quickly informed his friend) and talking about his favorite albums and songs from the band. Sniper's favorite seemed to be the entirety of their discography.
...But he liked the album 'Dirt', too. He guesses, if he had to pick, that'd be his real favorite.
That rant lasted about thirty minutes.
At this point, Sniper's accomplice was getting slightly annoyed at hearing the same band, over and over. So, simple- they asked if he could change it. He responded with a blank "Sure, when this song's over, mate" and then never changed it.
After a few more hours of Alice In Chains albums and Sniper's (surprisingly good) singing of 'Rooster', his partner was finally fed up.
"Hey, can you change this? I don't like this band.
...
Silence.
The sound of Sniper turning the turning signal on, then back off.
"...How can ya' not like AIC, mate?"
Sniper asked, scoffing.
"Maybe the fact we've been listening to them for...five hours, give or take?"
His company responded.
Sniper let out a sigh and frowned.
"...Fine. We'll listen to Beck."
Sniper shrugged, grinning.
...Oh no, here we go again.
