Work Text:
All who looked did not see.
All who saw did not feel.
And all who felt- they remained
Like ashes they flew
Not whence beyond the sight
Beyond the senses
Warped to perfection they remained be.
Quiet footsteps enter the hall of examination. Kishiar doesn’t do much but look at the boy with dark hair and dark eyes.
Except, were those eyes really dark? No. A hint of violet and something more. A curtain of hair scattered across his pale face, trying to hide the eyes entirely too sharp to be human. Trying to hide the wonder that is his soul. Kishiar wishes to sweep away those locks with a gentle hand and drown in those dark seas. To feel those stories etched on his skin. To know what they were, are and could be.
There is a hum only he can hear. A story that screamed incomprehensibly, desperately for Kishiar. And it was for Kishiar, that beautiful melody does not reach any other unworthy ears.
His body feels unlike his own, each cell reaching out with equal desperation. A moment of mammoth strength reigns him in, like a heart bursting at its seams.
When the boy offers to touch the water surrounding the blade, Kishiar does not hesitate, giving in to the sweet temptation of the creature in human skin.
Hope awaits future
Reason lives present.
Who lives his future,
Dreams his present
The world bows to thee
Yuder Aile is a mystery, Gakane surmises.
Kanna agrees. Everyone does.
They love him all the same. They love his sharp eye that sees something beyond, they love this tragedy in flesh, they love the story etched on his skin in flickering, ephemeral shapes of scars on his unmarked skin.
They love him too much. He loves them back.
It’s nearly a story of hope, yet that beautiful truth lives far beyond that.
He’s a pure existence, untainted by the warps of time. No sage compares, no, even the Sun god has loved less than this creature of love.
Oh thou who loves
Salvage my misery
Love me in thy arms
And I live
Keilusa remembers old fairy tales his mother told him on the better days when he sees the young somber man.
Hope. He sees hope on that somber face.
Misery. He sees misery in those calm eyes.
Regret. He sees regret in that tired soul
A look that would never adorn a boy of mere twenty. A look that would never adorn any being that lived on the firm fabric of the world.
He reminds Keilusa of the snow-covered mountains. The black that clings to his mortality does not change the serenity he is. His eyes are nearly as cold, and that river of love flowed from those glaciers. It is all black, a color that does not stain easily.
A shadow trodden upon will never change no matter how many times one tries. It is the greatest foolishness to even try, an impossible challenge that does not hide, does not scream.
He is a picture of eternal serenity. Tainted and warped into what he is today, peace and contentment sprouting like little buds from the grand tragedy.
He feels no pity. He feels no devotion. No, he simply looks and sees him. Yuder Aile. That is what he is and that is what he will be.
Kishiar seems to feel nearly the same. The difference remains in their entwined souls, indistinguishable even to him. Like two different stories threaded together to make a tapestry that remained indiscernible to him.
He leaves it at that. He leaves them be, and wishes for their happiness.
I know what you are
I know what you will be
I will love you
No matter what it may be
For that is who I am
And who I forever will be
Enon opens his door to scold the impertinent person who banged his door, only to swallow his words back. He sees, he feels.
He reads the desperation, he reads the tragedy.
“Yuder.” He acknowledges. Yuder does not hesitate to invite himself in.
They have a tacit understanding. Enon is a creature of love, he accepts Yuder as he is.
They are similar in that way. One carries the shackles of the future, the other carries the burden of the past. They don’t say it out loud, their quiet not-human hearts beating loud enough.
A tragedy, a serenity, a beauty
All that encompasses the world, he can be
Love that binds all
A moment, and he reaches out.
And all that he was, he is, he will be
There he remains
Perfection in flesh
An eternity
