Childhood Dreams

Summary:

You and Sunday were always close but why does he feel... Different when he looks at you?

Chapter 1: Prologue

Chapter Text

You were always close to him and Robin. Since the early days of their lives, you were there - happily and always loving as you always were. Both Sunday and Robin acknowledge the fact that one day, you would spread your wings towards a new life.
But, as you were all good friends, they never thought too much about it. They supported and praised your dreams, always trying to help you out to choose another planet to visit… Sunday never thought too much about it, well… He never did until he was 10 years old.

He was a good artist, always knew that and his sister would praise him deeply. While she loved Jazz and Pop, he liked way more to hear and indulge into Opera… Maybe that’s why he never was the main attraction, the ones in Penacony started to love the new era of music, preferring the cheerfulness of the Jazz or Pop’s beats than the melancholy of the Opera.
And it didn’t help a lot that Sunday, himself, hid his own voice. He never wished to be the main attraction, after all, never once wanted to be against his sister in any way… Maybe, that’s why he was so shy when you found him playing the violin while humming to an Opera song.
“W-What are you doing here?” The little squeak on his voice when he noticed you, with your wide eyes once you realized his talent. The way your mouth was open with visible shock as you tried to say something.
“You are… AMAZING!” Your voice would go as high as you could! Once you approached the confused and flustered Sunday, embracing him in a tight hug. “You are amazing!! I didn’t know you were so good at playing the violin?! What else can you do, hm?? TELL ME!”
Your visible cheerful attitude made him blush from embarrassment, he couldn’t form a phrase properly and started to look around, trying to not let himself melt in front of you. “I’m- I’m not that good…”
“YES, YOU ARE!” You would interrupt him and cup his cheeks, distancing yourself a bit. ”Say it! Say that you are good!”
“I-”
“Sayyy ittttt!” As you insisted, he would quietly say: “I’m… Good. I’m good at playing instruments… A-And I can sing Opera too.”
Your words would mark him, as he would start showing you more of his talent. Every week after that day, he would sing, play something or just show you what he had written. You, just like him, were Robin’s first and most loyal fans… And then, you turned into his fan too.
It didn’t take too long before Robin also became a loyal fan of his, you and Robin would joke around, saying about how you three could form a band or something like that.

Even if Sunday knew he would never be part of it… He still couldn’t NOT dream of something like that, being around his two favorite people.
He understood right there that he was in love with you, maybe it was just a childhood crush… But, he still understood it. As he knew about your plans, he never thought about confessing to you, he NEVER wanted to make you feel obligated to be around them… And he knew the moment where he would have to let you go.
The moment where he told you that he loved you, you would be between two choices… And he knew none of you would be happy with those choices.

And he thought… Maybe, just maybe… Those feelings would disappear once he grew up… Oh, how stupid he was.
