Chapter Text
Chapter 1
After the loss of the "Ravens" in the final of the ex "Foxes".
Coach Moriama broke into the "crow's nest" and pulled Rico out of the locker room by his broken arm, he only grimaced in pain.
He was brought to a room where Ichira Moriama was already standing with another man whom he did not know, they were discussing something among themselves.
- Here I brought him, it will not be enough to kill him for a loss - said the coach.
- What's wrong with his hand? If he can't play, just kill him, he already gave me a lot of problems - said Ichiro
- I will be able to play, you will see it, it will not be a problem - Riko said defiantly and confidently
- You have no right to speak, you lost it when you lost to those losers - said the coach and hit him twice in the face.
- For what ? I said that I will be able to defeat them, it will take some time and I will play back, I will prove that I can - he said angrily, holding his cheek.
- Shut up - said a calm voice with hints of threat.
Holding a gun aimed at Rico.
There was a thunderous sound in the room.
One of the bullets hit the wall next to Rico's shoulder, the other hit his broken arm and grazed between the broken bones. He almost screamed from the pain, but he knew that if he only made a sound, they would understand that he was still alive and finish him off.
- Dead? - said the man
- Even if not, he won't last a day with such wounds - two if he's lucky, a week or more, leave him alone, let him die like a dog - said another man.
- Remove him from this house so that I do not see him - said the voice.
Riko opened his eyes with difficulty and barely got to his feet, he knew that if he didn't run away, he would really die like a dog, when a strange man started approaching him, he broke free and ran with all his remaining strength.
Finally getting out of the "nest", he just ran forward without looking back.
When he reached the ditch on the track, he saw a bright orange bus of foxes who were coming from the competition.
Realizing that he can die in a ditch right now without reaching the nearest town.
Meanwhile on the bus
Coach Wymack spotted the kid on the side of the road looking like Neal's first days in the Burrow.
Frightened and as if running away from something, the child's face was covered with a hood, but looking at the final appearance, one could assume that he was a crow.
The bus stopped and all the foxes looked out the window with interest, and after opening the bus door, Wymak got out, followed by Dan, as she was the team captain.
Having come closer to the boy, they observed such a picture, he retreated from them a step, Dan crept up behind and abruptly took off the hood, and what he and the coach saw was strange.
In front of them stood none other than Riko Moriami, but something was wrong with him, not that he didn't look smug as usual, rather, scared.
- Riko, are you running away from the "nest"? Dan asked
- And what do you care about where I'm going, we decided to play nice - Rico answered politely
- I can help you, you have two options, judging by your appearance and the type of injuries, you won't even reach the nearest town on foot, there is a second option, Dan suggested, I didn't want to help someone like you, Rico, you caused us too many problems, but you can go with us to Palmetto? - indifference seeped through Vaimak's voice
- Okay, I will go with you - Riko said barely consciously, the effect of adrenaline from running away from the house was exhausted.
Entering the bus, all the foxes looked at him in unison
- The coach is a joke, is he serious? Don't you remember what he did, I'll cut him right now - shouted Andrew
- He broke and scared Kevin half to death, he almost faints at the mention of him, you saw - added Neil
- Neal calm down Andrew don't let him hold himself in his hands come to me now - Wymak said
Neal got up from his seat and walked over to the coach
- I have a proposal for you, don't let Enda kill Riko and the field on your holidays and days off, and I won't object, so how do you agree? - said the coach gloomily
- Yes coach - said Neil
Vaimak went over to Rico, who had already sat down in a chair, almost in a daze, a pill that he swallowed without even thinking, and the pain did not go away completely, but it became easier.
He lost control of the pain he endured while running away.
The bus was moving in the direction of Palmetto.
After making a couple of stops for a snack and warm-up.
The foxes took the situation with Rico ambiguously as they all wanted him dead or at least were satisfied with his current appearance, crushed and weak which can be beaten with less damage or ever.
Riko sat on the spot next to the coach, realizing that the foxes would not leave him so easily after what he had done. Pulling the hood of his hoodie lower over his face, the painkiller made him feel good half asleep, because the pain and fear kept him conscious, but it was better to be with the foxes that hated him than to be in Evermore, he was considered dead and what he was running from.
Waimak, driving up to Palmeta, looked at Rico, to be honest, he looked bad, he lost his temper, so it was decided to take him to Ebby upon arrival.
